my mini pro is new but there is no android market that is shown in the icons
Android Market
I installed the vending.apk (It was from an X10 Mini Pro with the Market, can't remember the link) file and have the Market working on a rooted X10 mini pro, but it keeps crashing whenever I try to download an app. Also, Market Enabler doesn't seem to work either.
I don't know why Sony Ericsson had to do that to us, just give us the generic Market place like all the HTC devices do...
I had the same problem- no Market App. However, I was able to get Market by a clever hack detailed in this thread:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743800 and forced SEUS to Repair my phone by downloading a different FW. This method *should* work. Check for aPaullyG's responses in the last pages of this thread on how to force a "Repair". However, you must follow the first steps in the original post to modify the build.prop file.

I accidentally uninstalled something i think that was google and now I cant install apps via market.
anyone plz share their /system/app folder? (with market working)
thanks!
i might have the same problem, but i got a x10 mini pro
When i try to download something it just say "starting download" but it never starts.
So a complete app folder would be nice
edit: i fixed my phone
Maybe you just gonna do an Update via Seus, that should fix the Problem.
Then you can start over, i think in my case uninstalling the gmail.apk was the problem.
Im new to android and for me there is no connection between the market and an email app, but maybe it is because of the license management
When I tried to download BusyBox (the MARKET ONLY version) it would not show on my phone...I thought it was removed from the market until I searched via the pc android market site. I tried installing with the PC site but it said my phone was not compatible? I thought that all rooted phones had access to the full market?
My phone is an x10 mini pro U20i rooted with Z4root 1.3.0. Should I unroot, then root with SuperOneClick? Or how else may I get access to the Full Android Market?
Any help would be really appreciated!
When I try to download Skyfire for 1.6 Android from the Skyfire site, I get a message: Download Blocked! I can not download an app out side of the Market Place. Is there a way to change the phone settings to allow the download or is someone able to make an app fro Skyfire in the Market Place? Skyfire will not make one for the older system. Who knows how long I will have to wait for Sony to get off their buts and make the 2.1 for the States!!!!!
Thank You to anyone that can help me on this.

My wife has a wifi only Streak with a "stock" T-Mobile version of the ROM after having to restore it. (Long story)
I went out to the market and was unable to find the official Facebook app. Is there anything I'm missing here?
The device is rooted... so if anyone has the *.apk I could just install it that way.
comes up as first result in Market when I search for "Facebook" on my Streak... (sorry I know that's not a huge amount of help)
Probably just need to change your fingerprint in build.prop but here: http://dandroidtabletpc.com/download-facebook-1-6-3-android-apk.html/

I'm using a Sony Ericsson X10 mini (not rooted) that still suffices quite ok. However, after a while it tends to become slow. What I periodically do to make the device again a bit faster is reinstall the original firmware using Sony PC Companion. This re-installs the latest available firmware for the X10 mini, being 2.1-update1 (kernel version 2.1.1.A.0.6).
The last time I reinstalled the firmware I ran into an issue. After the installation I got to work installing a few apps. I noticed that all the apps that I install keep showing up in the market as "Installing", even though they are already installed and working properly. Switching the device off and on doesn't help. Also clearing the cache of Android Market did not resolve this. All these apps remain showing as "installing" in the market app.
I also noticed that the version of Android Market that I currently have is not the version of Android Market that I had before reinstalling the firmware. As far as I know, Google Play is not available on Android 2.1, but I definitely remember that I had a newer version of Android Market installed on Android 2.1 than the one that is installed now. From previous re-installations I remember that the device at some point would mention that Android Market needs to be updated. The same goes for some of the pre-installed apps such as Facebook and Google Maps. However, this time it does not give such a message at all. Opening Android Market also does not trigger any update at all. Also going into the settings and looking for updates does not trigger any update. Is there any way to force android to update the market and the pre-installed apps?
When I open Android Market and look in the "Downloads" section, it shows a list of all the apps that I had installed on the device previously. When I check play.google.com on my PC, it lists the same apps, but they show as "installed" on my phone. Even though I have not installed them yet. And I cannot find any way to remove these apps from the "My Apps" section on play.google.com. Could this be interfering with the android market app on my phone?
Is there any way to trigger Android to update the Android market and the other pre-installed apps? I'm very hesitant to go and root the device, that still appears to me as a lot of work. Especially since I know that it used to work correctly previously.
A small update in case somebody in the future encounters the same problem:
To find out whether it really is my Google account that interferes, I have opened a completely new Gmail account, and used that when setting up the phone after the firmware re-installation. And lo and behold: within a few minutes after the initial setup of the phone, the market application was suddenly replaced with version 2.3.6. No notification whatsoever, it was just suddenly there. I don't know the version number of the old Market app that I had. Somehow, the version numbering that is used in the application manager is different than the "2.3.6" formatting. The version number that is shown in settings>application manager went from 2002009. to 2002306.
Having the updated Market app, I wanted to relink the phone with my normal Gmail account. However, I found that apparently, you can only sync with a different Gmail account by resetting the entire phone, so that I have the original problem again. But at least the fact that the Market app updated itself allowed me to copy the updated market .apk file so that I could manually update the market after reinstalling the firmware. And having installed the new Market app, it also recognized the pre-installed aps such as Google Maps.
It should have been possible to delete your new gmail account in th settings app and add your old one. Failing that, doing a factory reset would have deleted all the user-data but still have kept the updated market-app.
