Save Games From Gameloft Games?? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Ppl
Someone who knows about the "save games" from Gameloft are stored on the device's memory or on the SdCard?

Just very good and wide

I´ve talking with gameloft today and they say the saved games are stored on the phone memory and not the sdcard memory (working only with Android 2.2)

X10 saves games are store on SD, in '/sdcard/gameloft/' and then the specific game folder.

Why do you need to? If you are restoring your phone or something titanium backup will keep you at same state in all your apps

Gameloft games dump a lot of data onto your SD card, which I don't think Titanium backup touches - I discovered this when my phone crashed and rebooted whilst playing Dungeon Hunter, which corrupted the files it stores there (mainly graphic & sound files). Once the game restored these files from the Gameloft server I found I'd lost my savegames too. Tried to use Titanium Backup to restore what it had (probably wouldn't have my most recent saves, but would have grabbed older files), I found it didn't restor any save data.
HunteronX is right dong, the files are saved on your SD card.

Citat mail from Gameloft:
Hello
Games from Gameloft are saved on the internal memory on the device, also saved games are also saved directly onto the devices internal memory

Actually HunteronX is right. Have a look at your sd card & see.

the game files are saved on the sd card, but the save states are saved to internal memory. I'm 100% positive as I've switched roms many times and had to start game from the beginning due to not saving the apk+data, only the apk

Oh, now I see- the Gameloft games just have game data (sounds, sprites, etc) on the sd card. Saving is internal, I had them confused with Camelgames (Shoot U etc) that save on sd.

Got it.
I think u find it in data/data/com.gameloft.android."name of the game" on the internal memory.
Click on it and then copy the folder/file named data.sav
I found Lets Golf save files that way.
Hope this helps...

You rigth... I found all saves of my gameloft games in there.

Was revisiting some old android gameloft games, specifically The Dark Knight Rises (TDKR), and wanted to backup my save data, as it has been about 10+ years since this thread was created, things have changed a bit with Android 13, and it is similar but slightly different.
The following path is roughly where you can expect to find the save data for old gameloft games on Android 13 (not sure about modern ones):
Code:
/data_mirror/data_ce/null/0/com.gameloft.android.GAMENAMEORWHATEVER
Replace GAMENAMEORWHATEVER with what ever the short name they used for the game may be, for example for TDKR on android it is
Code:
/data_mirror/data_ce/null/0/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftKRHM
For reference, inside that folder there are a few .dat files (a.dat, b.dat and so on) and I just backed all those up elsewhere then deleted them from the path above and started the game. As I suspected the save data was not shown by the game anymore since the files containing it were gone. When I put the .dat files back in the same directory the game recognized my save data once again so I confirmed that is where TDKR stores the save data at least.
Hope this helps anyone else that may happen to stumble upon this thread like I did in the near future.

Observing "save" location for game

Whats the best way to watch where your phone saves data for a game? I messed around and figured out it saves the data to the phone and not the SD card. Is it possible to have my phone connected to the PC, do something in the game to change the data (we'll say spend money), then close the game and watch on the PC where the data is saved to?

I think every game i tried saves "save" data to /data in phone.
And Some gameloft games saves data in their respective folders on sd card.
I think it depends on the game. Some games like 9MM the saved games are on the sdcard.
Is the game in question on your phone or have you moved it to SD card? I would think that if the game/app was stored and run from the SD card that it would save data to SD card in the game/app folder. Just a thought.

No , sorry , its not like that . It depends how the game is made to save the data and save files.
It is indeed a Gameloft game and I believe I was wrong about it saving to the phone. Tried doing a few things to update a file, then try and see which file was most recently updated to get an idea. The game is that new Oregon Trail: American Settler. I been observing the files and found that there's a hidden cheat menu, as it's listed in the text_EN.lang file. Also found the only file that I can for sure tell that can be manipulated is prey.data file, which alters ther specs on the animals that run across the screen. Aside for those, I can't make heads or tails of anything else. I "think" the file that has saved data for $, energy, etc...is in Japanese/Chinese text. That is the file I'm after.
Translating the foreign text makes little sense, and manipulating the prey.data file doesn't stick. The game notices the change, then acts like it need to re-download the ~25mb game from gameloft. It smokes through the download (no way ~25mb), and all my stuff is the same. I re-check the altered file, and it's back to how it originally was before I messed with it....

This is solving everything. Taking some time and a bit hard to figure out, but it's working the best so far.

[Q] Regarding 'Additional data' for games

hi all, i have a question regarding to the additional data that we downloaded for certain games.
to be specific, i've downloaded NOVA2 and SHADOWGUN. but i dont quite like the games so i uninstalled them from the 'Manage App' option.
but seems like those additional data are still in my phone as i checked my storage, a huge portion of space is taken up.
do we have to manually delete these additional data? if yes, how do i go about doing it?
thanks in advance.
Yeah you'd have to delete the "data" file in the sd\android\data folder.
i had that with plants vs zombies where like 50mb of additional data was downloaded.
the data usually should be in ur internal sd card sd\android\data\com.[developer name usually]
just delete that folder and you'll be set.
if there isn't such folder try doing a file search for the developer company name and there should be data files in ur phone somewhere that u can delete.
As morio134 said, it should be in android/data/[folder]
If you can't tell which one it is, you can use something like Grid Size Free File Manager[/img] so show you what takes up how much space on your phone. Really useful if you're not sure what's using up all of your storage space
also it depend on application - some games etc remove also downloaded data when removed via unistall
Game data could be stored in various locations on the sd card, including gameloft, android/data, ea and others.

thanks all for the replies.
i'll try to check from those directories mentioned. just to confirm though, i wont be able to access those directories from the computer right?
i have to use apps like ES to navigate inside? since it looks like its internal sd directories.

[Q] Prime hdd nearly full!

Hi guys
My Prime has nearly full to capacity!
I have tons of apps and games and such, well lots of big download files.
Im not convinced that if i uninstall the game the downloaded data goes with it, hence the 800mb+ gameloft crud what comes with it.
is the there a simple app to delete in one click?
Im rooted if needed!
Kindest!
Check Astro File Manager, it has a built-in storage manager which will list folders by their size.
So it'll basically it'll list what folders are the biggest, so you can see if its from gameloft and then delete it if you don't need it.
EDIT: Perhaps get a Cache Cleaner app and let it clean out various caches from the storage? (Be careful though, and set it up, so it doesn't delete stuff you need.)
did you download the stuff from the market or off the internet? if you downloaded off the internet go to the downloads folder and delete the stuff in it.
also try getting a micro sd card and move some stuff over to it.

Try DiskUsage
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.diskusage
Very useful to have a graphical view of disk and to quickly find files/folders to delete.

Gameloft stuff does tend to stick behind, and when deleting you might have trouble differentiating between the games you've had. Their naming conventions for their folders are a bit off, so you'll have to go by some trial and error.
Worst case scenario - you'll need to redownload the data again for the games you still have.

Obb folder is missing

Hi
i bought the PIPO m1 tablet
and i tried installing all kinds of games (not from the playstore) like Asphalt 7
in the instruction i was told to copy afolder to the SDcard/Android/Obb....
this tablet does not have sdcard and when i checked under android folder ther was no Obb folder ???
i tried to buld one and copy the files there but still witout success
what is this folder and why its not on the Tablet
Thanks
\TK
Oob folder is where game data are stored. If it doesnt exist create that folder and paste the gamedata. Also you may need to patch framework.jar on you m1 as majority of the gameloft games has issues starting up their games on m1 . Tty googling "pipo m1 gameloft fix"

Thanks
Ill look for it
You know if that problem exist on the pipo m8 also ?
You're talking about pirated apps here, aren't you? That's not allowed. Where did you download Asphalt 7 from? Google Play Store and Amazon App Store both automatically download the game data. If not that then most games download the data into the right folder on first launch. None of the games, especially popular games like Asphalt 7, will ask you to download game data from somewhere else and put it in the obb folder unless it's a pirated game and working around the initial license check.
Most of people use pirated apps
Very few pays for them

You are right, but sometime even I launch the games purchased from Google Play, it has trouble downloading external data if you deleted them and try to redownload them again. Therefore, sometime it it is handy to keep everything in an obb file yourself for the future. Please keep in mind that I DO NOT ENCOURAGE people to pirate apps, I just buy the idea of obb...
Use Root Explorer if phone is rooted
Like the title says, use a root explorer and you should find the obb file.
No apps in Playstore tells you to copy the files to OBB, its obviously pirated
Hey, I installed Call of Duty Strike Team and after playing it once, obb was disappeared from obb folder and game isn't working. But, after uninstalling the game ,only apk is gone and the missing obb file is occupying my internal storage and I can't delete or find it.Please help and can't find solution anywhere. My device is rooted. My device is Samsung Galaxy Tab 3v PLEASE HELP............!

In some games sdcard/android/data
In others sdcard/android /obb
You'll find a folder starting with "com." followed by the game or developer name
thanks guys found zombie HQ and Z5, but sniper shooter could not find that one.

Look, if you've taken a Tbackup then everything's solved.
Go to your phone storage nd find a folder called TitaniumBackup. If not there check sdcard.
You would find the game apk as well as the "com." file..
But. Titanium changes the extension to ".tar.gz". So u won't be able to install from inside the folder.
Open titanium. in options opt for batch restore. Ur game will be shown in the list.
Select it. Restore it.
Done. It will be restored to the state where it was before taking backup along with in game saves
in what folder is my save data on for Zenonia 5??
i have the com.gamevil.zenonia5.global folder, but every time i copy the hole folder in the data location. when i go to start the game i get FC.
i want to know if i could just copy the file or folder where my save game data is located ..???
also when i restore with TB it FC when ever i start the game.
if i clear cashe and data. the game will start right up. just fine.
bump.................
