Hi All
Not posted in ages (i'm a bit of a lurker) as i tend to find answers to problems by using the search feature however..
Over the last week my HD2 has suddenly developed an issue...
When i recieve a call there is a delay of about 10 seconds before i can hear the caller on the other end ? they can hear me fine from the start but i have to say to them wait 10 secs and i will hear you ?
I have flashed various roms and radios (also tried android) i do task29 between flashes to see if i can resolve this but have not, So i ask the Gods at HTC have you any ideas ?
Many thanks

Hi! Sometimes, when I get a call, first my trackball starts to flash some times and VERY LATE (after about three flashes), my HTC Hero starts to ring.
I once had a program, which read out loud the name of the caller. I removed it and after that time, the ring came very fast for a while but now the problem starts again and I do not have this program installed. What can I do to solve this problem?
Just that you know, I have root and can see every file in my mobile, if there is a special logfile or something... But before I analyze my problem in the files with root, I ask you if there maybe is a very easy solution. How for example can I find out very easily, what my mobile does, while I recive a call? And if you want to know, I have about 200 Apps installed.
Thank you for your help!!
Martin
I have this issue but its mostly when i'm using a memory heavy app or loads of things running in the background. i now use task killer to kill all of the unnecessary programs that are running in the background & for the most part it works tip top. anybody else finding this too?
Yep, I have this - it's incredibly annoying. It's a phone after all and it seems to ignore that fact. I don't have many apps installed and don't tend to have much running in the background either.

When I first had this problem I got approximately 5 seconds of ringtone to answer (due to the lag in ringtone starting). Although it in no way fixes the problem, you can aid the situation by extending the delay before your answerphone kicks in by phoning your network.
same for me here, unfortunately this is also when not having ANY application running in background (just after phone startup).. takes at least lets say 4-5 secs until da mp3 is played, thats really sucking
Try not using mp3 as ringtone. Use the original HTC ones. The ringtone delay will decrease considerably
I am sorry but that's not a proper solution, has anyone reported that to HTC ?

I do use the originals - it doesn't help
what bout converting my mp3 filez to wav format?
OF COURSE i mean just converting da ringtone mp3 ;-)
I am using the MoDaCo leaked ROM (HTC Generic 2.73.405.5) and the response to incoming calls is much quicker, with the ringing starting shortly after the first flash of the trackball so I guess that you will get an improvement once HTC release the update and you install it.

I'm also using the Modaco 2.2 ROM and I've just tried calling my phone from a landline. I heard 4 rings in the landline receiver before my phone did anything with the trackball or the ringtone. However, less than a second after the track ball started flashing my MP3 ringtone started playing. 4 rings is quite a long time, at least 5-6 seconds, surely that can't be normal, can it?
That's not good no.
How about an experiment ... reboot your phone, give it a minute after booting to finish its initialisation stuff then try ringing again. Better or the same?
<apologies for double post>
Apparently this has been resolved on the forthcoming Donut release.
Cyanogen reports this as now working correctly in the new builds he is making on the G1 and Magic using some of the newer Donut code.
Hey Everyone
I am facing a problem in my xperia x10. When I get a call while in a current call, my phone automatically puts the first call on hold, and answers the second call without giving me the option.
What is the problem and how could i fix it?
Thanks
Similar thing happens to me when I switched to a MIUI rom, i guess a different dial-er could fix the problem but I don't know how to do that xD
even i am facing the same problem on my new htc sensation,,,pls someone help
i have the galaxy for 5 monthes now..
switched tons or ROMs and kernels.
since i tried the 2.3.5 androidmeda(i think it started there) i have a problem answering my phone.
when someone call me i can slide it right in order to answer, the phone stop the ringtone like i answered but i cant hear anything hile the other side think someone answered him as he doesn't hear the tome anymore.
i tried to go back to KG5 but i cant get rid of it.
it got better as i changed the modem(used to be on KI4) to KE4 and KG5(the rom im with right now but its not good.i can answer but it takes 5-10 seconds before i see the call screen and able to talk properly.
tryied androidmeda, cognition, batista, xpower(the used to be),villain and so. none helped so i guess its not ROM related exactly.
Maybe some data was changed (such as the opening after trying androidmeda-the white turning cube and the android character insted of the samsung s 2 pic).
i tried various MODEMS in order to solve it but no progress yet.
anyone familiar with this problem?anyway to solve it?
Sounds like a hardware problem more than a rom problem. You have tried all them custom roms do its quite odd. Id say trying to go back to a full stock rom if you haddent already and maybe test out other voice features on the phone like voice record and the google voice search thing.

I've Revolution HD installed on my phone, not the newest build, but appr. 5 month old. Everything is working fine, except a problem which I've since a couple of weeks: the phone is most time not ringing on an incoming call (of course it is not switched to silent mode!). Sometimes it rings only once, and then switches to silent mode by itself (!), most times it only vibrates like it is in silent mode, but it isn't... in "settings" everything looks fine, I can switch beetween ringtones (which I can hear of course). I'm using a custom ring tone which I've a couple of years on many different phones without any problem. I've no problems with notifications on incoming sms or Whatsapp messages. Does anyone have similar problems? pls. help! thanks Gerald
Logic says ask in the rom thread for that roms problems .

thank for that tip - my logical said, that this is not a rom-related issue as it is not a generally problem with the rom: it worked perfect a couple of month! my hope was that someone else has similar problems and can give me a tip, maybe it's a known problem with an app?...
but I'll post my problem again in the rom-related forum...
regards Gerald
I did an update to ARHD 26.0 (the last version), and it seems that the problem is now fixed... thanks..
Hi,
I have posted this in the Questions thread but had no answer so I am trying here to find a hero to help me!!!!
I have got an S5380i as a work's phone and when I have my Bluetooth headset connected to it, when you answer incoming calls the phone resets after exactly 16 seconds into the call. Outgoing calls are fine, but this happens about 80% of the time.
I have searched the internet for info about this and cannot find anything.
I have tried using the Jellyblast Custom Rom, which actually fixed the problem, but I couldn't use it as my works software developed problems with me not being able to read the text as the letters were too similar in colour to the background.
I AM new to this and have bricked this phone about 50 times trying to fix the fault (and have learnt how to unbrick it!), but would REALLY like some input on how I might fix the issue.
I have tried about seven different Bluetooth headsets, including genuine Samsung ones, and the results have been the same.
Is that enough info for you?

First of all, JellyBlast is a banned rom here. So lets not have anymore discussion on that. As for the headset problem, you can use the SoundAbout app from Google Play. Do post the result. Hope I Helped
Thanks for the replies guys. I will have a go at the catlog later when I get home and post the results.
The problem doesn't happen every time so hear with me while I try to get it to do it so I can post the log.
Sorry for mentioning 'that' rom, I was just using that as a point of reference as it was the only rom I have tried.
The headset issue isn't that the headphones don't work though, it is that using the Bluetooth headset causes the phone to crash when answering a call (not making one though), and I thought that using the sounds out app was to fix the headphone socket issue?
