For some reason my fonts will not change it is stuck on the stock one. I've tried to change them all and no luck. I did purchase a font from the market a while ago and it worked for a while but changed back, although I did not notice till weeks later.
Anybody else seen this issue? The only mods I have installed are the Captivate camera, the SGS i9000 boot up, Ryan's lag fix from the market, and Eugene's original gps fix that came as an update.zip.
Lagfix prevents font changes

I've looked thru the forums and found similar queries, but I haven't found any success yet, so this seemed like my only recourse. All I want to do is change my default home screen. I tried using the SGS Screen Changer, but couldn't root my phone because there was never any option to apply the update in recovery mode. I then tried to just switch to LauncherPro, but for some reason if I use that launcher I don't have access to all my Samsung widgets like Feeds & Updates. I had a similar issue w/ the ADW launcher. If someone could direct me as to what I'm doing wrong and how to do it correctly, I would greatly appreciate it.

I suppose we should back up a step. The two methods I am aware of would either be SGS Screen Changer or installing the GTG Revamped Launcher from within SGS Tools. Both are going to require root. There isn't a way to do what you ask that I am aware of that does not require root access.
Rooting the phone is stupid simple, depending on which firmware you are currently running. So, check out SuperOneClick root at the top of the Vibrant Bible thread...linked below in my sig.

You cannot use your samsung widgets with any other launcher OTHER than TW launcher. Its the same with Sense UI and the pro widgets that launcher pro provides. They are directly tied in with the launcher app so your just out of luck I guess unless your willing to give them up.
So I got the SuperOneClick and it seems to have successfully rooted my phone. I tried using the SGS Screen changer and it asked for su permission then said it worked and I just needed to reboot. But after I rebooted the home page still hadn't changed. So just to make sure I went and d/led the official busybox app and installed that. Again I tried the SGS Screen changer and again it was still the same after I rebooted. I don't want to abandon the TWLauncher, so is there something I'm doing to keep the screen changer from working?
Just use touchwiz gtg mod version. All you have to do is replace the stock twiz in file explorer

I don't think anyone has found a way to get a stock TWiz to accept a default home change in the Vibrant.

Running Blackhole 4.4 w/Black Alien 2.2 theme, got everything set the way I liked it with Launcher Pro Plus, then on battery pull with a SetCPU related lockup all my LP widgets are gone, as well as all launcher pro icons, and now it says I don't have an unlock key installed. Gone through and checked, uninstalled and re-downloaded unlocker, tried everything short of another flash. Anyone know what's causing this? Second time I've had it happen today, I'm rather tired of re-flashing and reorganizing everything at this point.
I had the same issue and asked LP. They replied with the following:
"You can solve this issue by using a root explorer and erasing /dbdata/databases/com.fede.launcher"
I did this and it worked. You will need to rekey the unlock code. This can be obtained by saying you forgot the code on the phone and they will send it to your email.

Launcher pro does have a few issues I use it and every other time when I reboot my phone I either have to task kill it or it force closes. Its the only launcher that does it but its the most complete launcher in my opinion. Although I wish someone would make a gingerbread standard launcher that's able to use custom homescreen iconS.
I'm using the 7.1.0 RC1 and DC 8.9.1 and everything works great, even netflix works on this little phone. Ive been reading how to use adb and decided to try and change the icons in the app drawer. Basically i'm supposed to pull the apk out, replace the icon and push it back. I did all that but the icon is still the same. Do i have to clear some cache or something?
Well i think i may know why its not working. My CM7 theme could be overriding the icons. I'm using the Rover theme ATM. I even got ADW EX thinking I could make a catalog and change the icons from there, but i can't figure it out.
EDIT: I've googled this thing to death and can't seem to do it. You would think there would be a semi-easy way to do this. After I've pushed the new apk to my phone, i checked it in root explorer and the date and time changed to the current, but no new icon. bah I give up for today.
I would think you would have to decompile the theme to change the icons. Not positive though, just my rationale.
My wish has been granted. I've been following this icon pack for awhile. Buy the FULL one, well worth it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1027954

First things first: Thanks to DJ_Steve for the awesomeness and customisability he's brought to the Streak with Streakdroid. Only took the plunge on 1.9.0 due to my own fears and inexperience, but I'm loving everything (except the loss of the StageUI on 1.9.1, but thats just me being silly!).
Anyway, on to the issue: Having installed 1.9.1 the other day (after solving wierd screen issues with a calibration) I have discovered that my keyboard, Thumb keyboard, seems to be have been forced into a theme which makes it very difficult to read the alternative characters for a key. Also, I'm unable to change the theme to any of the other Thumb keyboard themes so its stuck like this.
I'm using Launcher pro with the 140 screen density and I'm just wondering if this is caused by Streakdroid or is coming from Launcher Pro? These are the only two big differences in my Streak setup for 1.9.1!
thumb keyboard
I am having the same problem. only way i have been able to get around it is. clear the data from talkback and then clear data from thumb keyboard. Some how the talkback keyboard is overiding everything. happened on 1.9.0 also. not just 1.9.1. wish I could remove talkback
I would have to say that it is not streakdroid.
I'm on 1.9.1, but using adw launcher ex.
No issues changing themes for thumb keyboard on mine.

Have you tried stock screen density (160)? Removing Thumb Keyboard and reinstalling?
Thumb Keyboard just updated to 4.3 today with a new theme browser. Maybe try that? I know I had a similar problem with keyboard settings not sticking on SD1.8.1. I think the trick is to remove every third party keyboard one by one with a reboot in between. Then once you're back to only the stock android keyboard, reinstall thumb keyboard and it should work.
I am using us120 and launcher pro plus on sd 1.9.1 and everytime I reboot have to go and redo settings on thumb keyboard. only keyboard available in imput method is now thumb keyboard. Still think it has something to do with talkback keyboard. Does anyone know how to remove that app.
I removed talkback with titanium backup. I had it frozen for a couple weeks with no issues, so I went ahead and installed. I am on Streakdroid 1.9.1

I am using dell streak 2.2.2 with streakdroid 1.9.1
After using it for 3-4 days everything started force closing.
For eg.-
process com.google.process.gapps
process com.android.mms
process com.google.android.gm
process com.cooliris.media
etc etc....
I factory reset my phone nd den tried it again but again the same problem after 2 days..And a lot of other downloaded apps also start force closing. I am fed up of factory resetting my phone again and again.
Thnx..
Hello, i'm new to this forum, kind of a noob still with rooting and everything but anyways, just the other day I had a new update for go launcher ex. Everything ran fine until after the update. It won't let me change the effects, go into settings, or change themes. It also still displays icons for APPS that i have fully uninstalled before and I can't get rid of them unless I use Astro to delete the raw files of the app. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Go Launcher several times, but that doesn't work.
I'm running this on a brand new Galaxy Nexus so it might be compatibility issues with the new ICS OS... Anyone else have this issue?
Yep might be a compatibility issue, have you tryed adw ex launcher? i saw it in a post and installed it and have been in love with it ever since

I've tried it out, but I like go launcher because it has an ICS theme for free while keeping all the cool effects and stuff. the problem with adw for me is that i can only set one app in my appdock on my homescreen with a custom icon.. and that really bothers me with the looks. it also doesn't change any of the app icons in the app drawer. prob compatibility issues too. i hope they update both of them soon!
