Ive been looking for a bit torrent app that doesn't require having it on my laptop or signing up with a login. What's everyone using? So far I'm thinking of buying the bittorrent client by new freedom apps its 4.99 so what's the best.
I would download movies and tv shows maybe some mp3 files mostly over wifi and hopefully doesn't seed from other users phones just servers. Cause I don't want my phone getting seeded..... Any ideas ?

as for operating you dl the .torrent and open it with swarm.
I bought swarm this morning and its what I was looking for. But im still going to try the others since I have that 24 hour window . Thanks guys

Anyone used AndTor?
Swarm is the best BT client on Android EVER, because it actually works well, and the developer is great.
I use Torrent-fu but you could always just get LogMeIn and have full access to your server and can add and remove torrents or really anything else that way. Works great.
Apologies... after reading the OP again this solution will not work for what you are trying to accomplish.
AndTorrent works great for me.

Do any of these torrent apps support magnet links and if so can you delete the tracker from the link before you start d/ling? Or better yet can you just add the links to the app manually? cause then i can delete the tracker for sure. Man this would be awesome.
I keep getting "error: null" on my torrents in swarm. never more than "downloading from 0 of 0 peers". Any help?

I use transdroid here. Works real well on my Macbook Pro. Just had to set the correct permission in Transmission on my laptop and I put the settings in transdroid.

Hey guys, I have at&t for my cable and the iphone has a app to control your dvr... I just got my tv guide for them and it shows a android app for the captive, I would love to get my hands on this! On my phone right now hope this didnt all ready get posted! Thank you for your help!

I had AT&T, just moved and it isn't available here yet. I've been wanting an android app for this for almost 3 years, when i first got UVerse. Plus now they announced the XBOX 360 can replace a set-top box. Too bad I am stuck with KableTown (comcast if you don't watch 30 rock)
Well its not on the market, so I think we will need some one with a captive to pull the apk out and post it, god I hope it works!

I think you miss read the post this is for the Captive on AT&T - The Facinate is from verizion and would not for the App in their market. I will try and look up more info in the Captive forum after I get home... any one that has the Uverse APK that could post in here would be great though.

Looks like the Android app was released today, but I'm not seeing it on the Market. Is it filtering for AT&T wireless customers only?

yes it is being filtered i just read an article on engadget that says it will only be available on the captivate, aria, and the two new moto phones that are coming out the flipout and bravo i think this is so stupid times like this i hate living in a att owned region so i cant get verizon fios uverse sucks and everything else att does too

Whats misleading is that you cant watch the shows you recorded but a set number of recordings they have approved......

...but like others have said, its disappointing you can't watch what was recorded on the DVR. My guess is it has to do with licensing agreements, and we all know how idiotic that is.

Please tell someone knows when....or if at all, Age of Empires is coming to android???? I'm dying for this game.....you'd think with such a sweet OS and plenty of CPU power on these phones someone would have come up with it. And believe me, I've tried every "strategy" game on the market and they all suck!!

i also noticed after searching around, there are blackberry, windows mobile and even basic mobile phone versions of Age of Empires. would it be possible to port those versions to android? i mean, what the heck, why doesn't android have the game in some form yet?

The Mobile phone versions yes. There are already emulators on the market that will read those files although controls are another issue.

really??? the mobile phone version of AOE is a .jar file....which is java right? and it has touch screen controls already built into the game so that wouldn't be a problem. im really excited if this will be possible....what is the name of the emulators?

I remember playing age of empires III on my samsung sgh-e490 (not android,just java) a couple of years back.
I remember finding it on some site (a Russian site,I think) .It wasn't really the same as the pc version,though.
so im using trigger.. and i hate the messaging and contacts icons.. i just wana replace them.. how could i do that?

Unique circumstances. I don't have 3G where im at and im in class or the research lab nearly all day so it stays locked in my pocket with data off and it only comes on when I need it.
Im still calibrating it for heavy use so we'll see how much it drops down. I'll post a SS of the battery left widget.

You could try the main android theme thread. The first couple threads there is one that it dedicated just to icons. There are loads of them! It has instructions on how to get them on your phone to.

I'm trying to load a app that ive developed, but this is weird...
If I move it via usb it works but if I try via phone browser (dolphin hd) it downloads as a .htm file every time!!
I tried renaming doesn't work.
Also this isn't just my app problem its happened to me before with different apps too!
I have no idea how to help. But I am curious as to what your app is.

Oh did I make it seem like I had this almighty app and all? It's just that hellokitty app from the app inventor but i made some other things on it (not that big things) just change pic and what not.

This problem happens to me when I try to download apps from certain sites. At times it's a hit or miss. Try using a website like Megaupload to upload your apk/download it. Sometimes Mediafire & some others for some reason make us download them ast .html files.
Hi I bought the Skyrocket yesterday and installed all the app's I had in previous phones. It doesn't let you download torrents, streaming and people having problems with blackmart or other non legal apps. AT&T checking what sites you connect to and stops. I never had this problem with any phone I had almost 10 android phone.

There are many legit things that use torrents.
I can't stand using torrents however.
Its not that you can't install apps. U just can't use some apps that download torrents or I don't know what else? Even the sites I visit it hangs seems like its checking something, I have the international galaxy s 2 and same apps dont have any problems. Don't start with the proccessor being different. I have the tmibile gs2 and it also has no problem.

so my solution is to stop using those apps.
I can see if the stock browser wont let you download torrents, though. You might want to use another browser, like opera or firefox. The stock browser doesnt play well with some torrents.

I do torrents, got the GS II and love that I can download mediafire/fileserve files again...with my moto atrix I couldn't so now that I can it helps, don't hate on that...as to the enterprise data all corporate email required higher data plan.
