HD2 Backlight completely non functional - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im hoping I can fix this problem without having to get a new phone
I was using my HD2, and the screen began to flicker. The screen turned off and would not turn on again. If you look at the phone with a strong light directly pointing at it, you can still see that the phone functions fine, just that the backlight is completely non functional. Tried soft and hard reset, did nothing.
Can I just buy a replacement screen?

Screen Issue

I've had my Titan for about 8 months. A few weeks ago it started acting up.
The screen back light will come on and the phone will boot up, but nothing will come up on the screen. Sometimes the screen will come on other times it won't. It usually would work until I slide the keyboard out, then the screen locks up and the display gets all funky.
I took it apart and everything looks ok. However the cable connecting the screen could be a problem. When its apart I can get the screen to work, but once I put it back together or the cable touches a certain part of the device the screen no longer works.
Has anyone had this issue? Anyway to fix it?
Thanks!

need help screen is blank

Hi,
just dropped the TB and battery flew out but nothing seem to be broken. The phone turns on and the lower buttons light up but screen is blank/black. Sometimes the back light is lit but nothing comes on. When I call the phone, it rings. Any idea to how to fix or is it gone?
The one year is not over so I guess factory warranty is still in place but it is rooted. can I unroot if I can't see the screen?
TIA

[Q] Need help powering off Lumia 800

Hi everyone.
I dropped my phone today, and the screen broke.
The phone still seems to work properly, but the classic signs of a broken LCD are present: purple screen with many many lines and nothing legible.
I have ordered a replacement screen already, but I cannot get the phone to shut down and stay turned off.
Since the screen is broken internally, it does not respond to my touch.
I can hold down the power button for 15 seconds but that does a reset, and the phone automatically turns back on.
Is there anyway to keep the phone off other than by draining the battery completely?
I need to keep it powered down so that I can disassemble it safely.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I don't know of any way, but as long as you are careful while disassembling you should be fine. You should be able to pry the screen out enough that you can disconnect the battery before disconnecting the screen. I doubt disconnecting the screen with the phone on would damage anything anyway. I believe people do this iPhone screens all the time to test them.

[Q] HTC screen won't respond.

Hello,
I've got an HTC Amaze that's been rooted, but done fine for a few weeks/months, at first it's battery seemed to be the problem, and after replacing it things were normal. Now, the phone doesn't seem to respond or give any sign of life until its plugged in, and the only thing that changes is that the orange light glows. When unplugged the light remains on, but the screen is always dark, yet each of the buttons on the touch screen's face (home, settings, back, search) make the phone rumble when touched and I can access all the files from my laptop. It's functioning, I just can't see anything, no water damage, and no recent falls before it went dark.
It's not a bad usb, but can someone help me fix it?

Blank screen after timeout, cap. buttons lit

Hi All,
I have an LG Optimus G E970 on the AT&T network, all stock. I recently dropped it and, of course, the digitizer glass cracked. The screen still worked just fine, and I could turn it on and off without a problem but no touch at all. As I was trying to shut it down without using any buttons by just holding the power button, it started acting strangely. I would turn it off (screen timeout) by just pressing on the power button, but when I would wake it up (by again pressing the power button) the cap. buttons on the bottom would light up, but the screen would stay dark. I chalked it up to the digitizer being messed up.
I have since installed a new screen/digitizer assembly, and it works great when I turn on the phone. However, as soon as the screen goes to sleep, I get the same problem - cap. buttons light up, but the screen stays black. All the buttons are working, as I can here them clicking, and I can turn up the volume, etc, I just can't get the screen itself to light up.
Has anyone run across this problem, or have any suggestions? I've already, reluctantly, tried a hard reset, which did not solve the problem, as well as any other little fixes that I found in this and other forums. I'm thinking it's a software issue of some sort, since the screen and everything work great when the phone is on, but I don't really know. I wanted to see is there were any answers out here before I tried rooting and installing a new ROM, which might be problematic anyways if the screen doesn't come back on.
TIA,
George G.
