Hi
My question is : which is the best : the Mini or the Mini Pro ?
In fact, I can have the Mini Pro for ~250$, but I can also have the Mini for ~200$, both in black and ~50$ lesser than the Pro (during this week only, in belgium). What I'm afraid of is : with the Mini, the battery is not removable, and with the Pro...well I think i'll never use the AZERTY keyboard because I'm used to the T9 for sms and almost everything else.
So, What do you think ?
Thanks in advance for your advices
If you have small finger, go for Mini. But if you have big finger, go for mini pro. It's a little bit bigger than Mini.
I went for the mini pro and i've found that the keyboard is pretty good.
So good in fact that i've turned off the t9 input completely.. it only takes a second to slide out the keyboard and type what you need..
The SE t9 input looks nice but i don't think it is very effective, at least compared to the other t9 keyboards/keypads i've used (this is a personal opinion, some people love it).
So, i would suggest the mini pro unless you really need a slim phone.
I have both nd I find them both easy to use its all down to preference on which u choose but u will b happy with either one

So, don't you think that the not removable battery of the Mini is a problem ?
@stluciasound : No, my fingers are not big .
In fact, I've tried them both, I'm impressed of both, and the only two things that makes me doubt are the battery (not removable in the Mini) and the keyboard (in the Mini Pro), well and the price too, lol.

thanks to all
my main issue is the unremovable battery of the Mini, because I think I'll never use the full keyboard of the Pro...
So do you have battery problem with the Mini ?
Finally, I'll wait about a month to buy the Mini Pro.
Even If I don't use the AZERTY keyboard very often, the battery is removable, just in case... (and the 2.1 should be out ^^)
i have both and mini is more beatiful , batery isn`t problem for flashing etc. if you don`t use keyboard buy mini !
go for the mini lighter better looking battery not an issue and why buy a touch phone if your gonna use a keyboard;

My friend has the mini, one of the firsts and the battery doesn't come out, in my pro it comes.
Pro is a little bigger.
Off course the keyboard, is needed if you type allot cause of the small screen.
I have also have the x10 and now i have mini pro and i will never go back to the big brother again, i think it's better then the x10

Hi, I'm an old Imate JAMin user and I'm thinking about shifting to a newer device. I need a good WiFi connection, a touchscreen and decent battery timing. Can someone tell me how X10 mini pro compares to HTC Tattoo, I am being offered either at the same price. Which would you pick?
I know about Tattoo's QVGA display but do you think its worse than having a slider phone (I had to change my N80's slider strip thrice so I don't know if sliders are a good idea)
Thanks a lot to anyone who can help
Cheers
I Think
Sony Ericsson x10 mini pro
its will be better

I too am sick of fixing ribbon cables on slider phones.. so I wouldn't go for the mini pro (as this has a slider, sure to fail) the mini (E10i) on the other hand has no moving parts.. I think the Tatoo only has a 530MHZ CPU (the mini and mini pro are 600MHZ)
the mini and pro boot loader is locked down by sony ericsson.. so if you are really into hacking and modding I would go for the Tatoo (however we can do a lot of cool mods without a hacked boot loader)
Personal taste.. but I think the mini/pro is higher spec in just about every area than the Tatoo.. and designed much better. another option might be the X8 (a bit cheaper, slightly bigger higher res screen, lower MP camera but otherwise the same as mini and Pro) and seems to be heaps of DEV support on here too.
Good luck with your choice.. and if you go for a mini or a mini Pro we are always here to help out.
Kiwi
SE Mini Pro
Enough said.
I had both firs htc Tattoo and now mini and mini pro.
Performance: pretty much the same.In both cases Qualcomm processor (mini 600mhz,tatoo(530mhz)
Display: tattoo has biger one but display on xperia is better(24-bit 16.777.216 colors) and camera too
Physical keyboard huge advantage
Look: well its up to you, but my vote in general goes to xperia
Thanks guys, really appreciate your advice and help. Cheers.
which phone is good? which one do you use? i cant make a choise (
Mini pro if love emailing and texting..
Mini Pro by far, the type feature on the mini is very unsuitable for a small phone and the actual qwerty keyboard on my Mini Pro is perfect, its one of the reasons i did not buy HTC... They are roughly the same price anyway. I got a Mini for my brother first, I liked the Mini so much and really wanted to buy the Mini but then the Mini Pro just came out and opted to wait for the price drop of the Mini Pro, after 2-3 weeks i paid the same price for the Mini Pro as I did for the Mini I bought for my brother. I have acess to both phones and think the Mini Pro is a much better option, another plus side is that Mini Pro's screen also has the hardware to support multi-touch which we currently do not have but may well be cracked by Owain very soon!
PS. Mini Pro is perfect for emulators such as Nesoid, Snesoid as you can configure button inputs and do not have to rely on onscreen touch buttons which will not work on Mini anyway as it will not support the multi-touch.
Mini PRO. Size is almost the same, but the advantage of keyboard is great!
You can play a lot of games from gameboy or psx emulators much better with HW keyboard then the onscreen one..
is there big size difference between them?
not really they're both tiny phones. the pro is slightly heavier but worth the extra bulk
Another thing is that there are no... I don't know the exact word... You know... The thing that covers back the phone and is colorful and also covers the battery... The back cover! xP
There are no back covers for mini pro included when you buy it... That's the only thing that 'annoys' me... There is a variety on mini's box... But I would definetely suggest you buy a mini pro, I am able to type superfast and as the other guys said it's a BIG advantage having a keyboard for emulators and chatting.
And... You can't take the mini's battery off! On contrary, with mini pro, you can. Imagine your phone crashing, you would be in trouble.
Sorry for my dislexia and stupidity, but I just got up! xD

x10 mini pro is a better choice. It has a hardware keyboard, which allows u type faster, more convenient. Besides, if u want to play games with emulator eg. snes, gameboid, GBCoid, PSX4Droid..., u cant play well with virtual pad since x10 mini doesn't has multitouch.
essentially i dont play games and dont type message generally.
Then if you are conserned about the money and don't care about inserting and ejecting the battery (something very important for me), then go on and buy a mini...

Mini pro easly.
Doesnt need explonation

If you care about money, I'd think that the different in prices between mini and mini pro is not too much. I suggest you mini pro. I don't see any advantage for mini besides color backcovers
in Turkiye the price difference mini and mini pro is 10 dollars. so i gave order mini pro
Nice, make sure you install CyanogenMod when you come to our world! ;-)

but someone says there are some errors with that rom. reboot, battery, camera etc.
everything works fine for me flashing CM6 final and floyotweaks: battery is the same; camera/camcorder no problems; reboots fixed (people complaining probably have overclocked too high)
Anyway, any problems and you're sure to find a fix on the forum
The system is almost perfect... Of course better than the stock official. But if you don't like it, you can always go back to the official rom you had before you install it, simply with xRecovery. But to return, it must be the same version with the cyanogen version. For example, if you are on 2.1 and install cyanogen froyo (which is 2.2) you cannot go back to it.

Mini pro beacause of the phisical keyboard and removable battery!

No errors.... they need only to do a full clear installation of the 2.1up1 from PC Companion or SEUS, then clear the SD card...
Then install the ROM!
Maybe, at this point, that the phone reboot...
In this case reinstall .zip file and It will works!
Hey bro, i have the mini and i love it. But if i were you id wait until the new sony xperia pro comes out. Its a new version of the mini pro. It will be so much better than the mini and mini pro. And you will be able to unlock the bootloader through sony website so customisation will be better and easier. Anyway cheers, evilbarcode.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but anyway,
I have the original X10 Mini Pro. But a few months back I had to stop using it because typing on it gave me thumb strain. I think it was because of how hard the keys are.
So I'm just curious as to how the new Mini Pro's keyboard stacks up with its predecessor's. Has anyone owned both, or has tried both, and can tell me their thoughts?
Thanks.
I don't know diffenrence but I have no problems with it and I type quite some with it.
the xperia mini pro sk17a has the larger keyboard
I was searching for a suitable phone for my cousin sister and was recommending her the Mini Pro. Now her budget is increased and we checked out the Ray as well as the Motorola Defy +.
Any advices on which is better. She will stay on stock ROM (maybe I can change it for her once in a while) and is going to be normal user.
Mini Pro seems good but Defy + is having larger screen at similar price. Ray also seems good but more expensive and screen in between.
Mini pro should be the best if she can accept its 3" screen.
Personally,I feel XMP's performance(stock) is better than defy+,such as playing games and normal use(smoother).
And maybe she relatively cares about photo function, then I think Ray is the one.
The mini pro are god cellphone has a keyboard , for write most faster , but the xperia ray have more roms , best quality of screen has a screen of 3.3 with fwvga , the defy has more big screen , but look the pros of a cellphone xperia:
You can overclock up 2.0 GHz
Oficial ICS sándwich in March
God quality
Is your desicion Men !!

I suggest you go for Xperia Ray
Mini Pro may be a bit small ,and from what I have heard girls like to have a huge screen. If you actually notice a common complaint from every Mini Pro and Mini users is that the screen is too small .
But if she is very much interested in having a physical keyboard then Mini Pro is the one .
Moto defy + has a dust proof screen ,better resolution than Mini/Mini Pro .But there are some bugs with it and I have heard of it switching off and freezing alot . Do check out a few reviews .
Personal Opinion- Xperia Ray
I'd say the mini pro or ray. They're both more stylish than the defy+ and seem less laggy. I mean, since when are benchmarks going to matter to regular users? If she wants a better camera, go for the ray. If she prefers a keyboard, go for the mini pro. To be honest you can't go wrong with all 3 but SE usually puts less bloat on their custom interface.
