If I try to update via the prompt on the phone, the phones just shuts off, doesn't reboot. I downloaded this file:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q0BUP4Y2
that I found here:
http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/125309-new-ota-download-link-7-17-a-2.html#post1343783
and when I try to apply it in recovery it says signature verification failed.
I am running stock 2.1, stock recovery, stock 1.47 bootloader at this time. I do not wish to root, just want to be up to date.
The official link is gone:
http://android.clients.google.com/p...Verizon_WWE_2.37.605.4_2.36.605.1_release.zip
Thanks.
UPDATE: Found one that works.

3 weeks ago, I bought a gTablet and then flashed it with TnT lite after installing Clock work Mod. Before updating, I took the backup using CWM. When I saw there eas a OTA update available from Viewsonic, using CWM I restored from the backup.
Now the tablet shows me OTA update is available and after download and install, the tablet boots and then fails updating. When the tablet boots, I see an Android icon with an exclamation mark. Only option for me is to power off and restart to boot properly. Is it because of CWM installed? Of yes, Is there a simple way to remove like how CWM was installed easily?
Or Can I get the OTA update via an update.zip from somebody?
Thanks and appreciate all the goodwork in this forum.
Yes, it's because of CWM - you need the original bootloader. You need to do an NVFlash back to stock to be able to get the OTA update.
Just curious as to why you want it?
Search for 3588 update and flash it
The reason I want to go back and update the OTA update was I wanted to know what Viewsonic has done in terms of performance update and UI changes and so on. Also one think I noted with TnT lite was the while scrolling and viewing messages, the UI was giving a 'Shivering' lool and then correct itself. YouTube wouldnt work at all, Google voice gives error all the time etc. Once I went back to stock ROM (after restore) it works.
Also my spouse kind of liked the organized UI from viewsonic but of course complained about the sluggishness.
I searched for 3588 zip file and could not find anywhere? Does somebody have it?
Thx.
You should be able to download it directly from the tapntap update server:
http://tapntap.http.internapcdn.net/tapntap/viewsonic/update-smb_a1002-3588-user.zip
(Thanks to Roebeet for this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842000)
I use the "update.zip" method, by putting it on my microSD card, along with the recovery folder and the correct "command" file that directs it to look at the microSD card for an update.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892090
Thanks for the help with the above. I downloaded the file and then successfully updated to 3588.

Wow this is like your 4th post about the same thing.....
Anyway use AIO and change to US (easier)
Find the updates needed in my update links thread (see signature)
Use AIO to install rescue backdoor (this lowers the incremental)
Use the custom update maker in AIO to preroot HC 3.2(.1)
Try these things and post your results here.
Note if you install R5 you will have issues reverting back to Honey Comb as you can use 'custom roms by AIO' as shell does not work in recovery with the newer R5 recovery.

This means you have flashed some previous update not intended for your region, like some of us flashed 1.17.401.3 when we weren't supposed to have it, hence we coudnt update ota 4.2.2 as our ots was to patch 1.17.401.1, maybe this will help you, but its not 707, its 401, should still be able to flash though if unlocked through twrp. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419784&page=3. You will need your firmware.zip not mine, different cids. or you could just flash this http://d-h.st/cK4, twrp again. Im sure as long as your unlocked with custom recovery you can flash different cid, except of cause the firmware.zip.

That will be why then, I bet if you left out that previous update, you would be able to install no problems. Sam problem for me, assert patch failed, but mine was the build.prop, because im UK and the forced ota wasn't for me.

No no I think u didn't get me. the ota update was shown on my phone. It gave me a notification that an update is available. I didn't download the update manually from xda. the download happened on my phone thru the ota service itself.
I have solved it and done update completely..
Problem --- STOCK nandroid backup have got problem.. so HTC update fails
Solutions -- Need to Update system folder with proper files for update to be sucessful
Action plan -- Those people who went to STOCk android ( INDIA) using Nandroiod backup will face issue
I will upload proper Nandroid backup ( old backup with files updated) ..
Then download update from HTC and it works and Hboot is upgraded to 1.7 from 1.4
Note -- this is for only CID 038 Which i use in India

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, as I'm sure it has, but I can't find what I'm looking for.
My wife's DNA is on 2.07.605.1 710RD according to the about menu, it is rooted and s-off, with TWRP installed. She keeps getting an update notification but when we try to accept, it downloads, reboots to TWRP, shows a couple lines of script and goes to the TWRP home screen. No update occurs.
Is there a way to get the update to take or a ROM that is straight from the latest ota I can flash for her?
I would really like to avoid having to unroot or do a bunch of adb work, but will if I have to.
I'm hoping someone can post a link to a flashable zip for me that will make this easy?:fingers-crossed:
The update fails to install because you don't have the stock recovery.
Here is a stock, rooted, deodexed & odexed versions of the new ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560010
Flash in twrp.
I got an OTA,
Download and Verified
Rebooted started to install
Then got the Android laying on his back with error under it.
So I held the power button,
the device restarted but no longer offers an OTA update.
My questions are,
Will given time will Google catch on I am running old firmware a offer the OTA again?
Can I force the OTA?
Will it even complete it failed the first time?
or
Should I just give up, find the image, extract it and update manually?

Install could have failed for a variety of reasons. If you are rooted, or have a custom kernel, or are unencrypted, of there is any modification to the system.
You can sideload the OTA, but really? That's as much work as fastboot flashing the system image.
So, if your bootloader is unlocked, I'd suggest that you just fastboot flash the individual .img files, extracted from the system image.
.... I did a manual install, I have not had much luck with OTAs
