Trying to install the stock Andoid messaging app (mms.apk) but I get "application not installed". I am using Darkstone's latest build.
I am obviously familiar with installing apks but no idea why this wont work. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that HTC's messgaing app is on the phone?
Any ideas please?

What part of the instructions are you having an issue with?
im not having trouble with the instructions im having trouble with the application not being installed. As system/app does not have an apk called mms i assumed I would just have to install it like any other application but it starts installing then gives me a message saying not installed.
I am trying to update an application from android market. Every time I try to update.. Android Market app downloads the apk and then say something like "Application can't be installed because of some application signing issue".
My question is
Where are the apk's downloaded before isntalled?
Can I copy the apk before i get the error message?

You probably have a version on your phone that you didn't download from the Market. To solve that you need to uninstall that version that you have on your phone and the install the one from the Market.

thanks a bunch but for some reason I can't install it, says
"An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed"
but I've frozen GVoice using Titanium. So I removed it completely and it still says "Application not installed"
Uninstall and reboot. Then use a root browser to push it to system/app. Change permissions to rw-r-r. Then reboot once again and you should be good.

assuming the apk above is directly from the market, you can just install it normally.. I don't think it has to be a system app. I had the same problem with TB and freezing/uninstalling... If you're having that problem, check in Apps, All and see if com.google.android.....voice is in there.
Has anyone gotten this to work on this device? Is it even possible to do this? I downloaded the apk to see if it would work. Got the error message "android pay is not available" so I unrooted thinking that was it. Unrooted, cleared the cache on the app and still not working. Just keep getting that same error message. Anyone?
Hello,
I accidentally uninstalled the original video capture application on my huawei, but I can't reinstall it anymore, I got the basic apk back but it displays "application not installed" during the installation...
