Hello,
I'm looking for a bluetooth remote control for my TyTN. I don't know if that kind of stuff exists.
When I'm in my car, listening to music with TCPMP (or other audio programs), it's quite hard to clic on next or stop or play on the TyTN touchscreen and driving at the same time
That's why I was thinking of a remote control.
Any help is welcome
Thank you
I just think if the bluetooth can remote control the media player on our phone,it will be a revolution to the ppc.
Or your hope could come true the day the bluetooth producer make it.And we are longing for that day coming.
A few years back I had a Nokia phone and there was a utility that worked with Winamp on a WinXP computer and a plugin for a Symbian phone that allowed me to control WinAMP from my phone. It was cool. I was playing in a band and we had to provide our own break music. I'd light up the laptop between sets and control the play list from my phone from the parking lot outside or even the other side of the room!
I wish there were something similar for WinMo, though I really don't need it these days. It's still cool!

TCPMP, AFAIK, cannot be controlled with the default Bluetooth stack on the TyTN.
When I had the HP HW6515, it used the Broadcom stack, and it would control TCPMP.
I don't know of a pure non-audio Bluetooth AVRCP remote control.
Have you ever heard of creating playlists ,then you wont have to touch the tytn lol

I just received my HTC RC e100 remote control stereo headset.
http://www.htcdepot.com/htc-wired-remote-control-stereo-headset/11A29A5242.htm
The concept is cool and I had high hopes. I plugged it into my Tilt2 and started to play with it. The headphone icon appears up in the top bar. But it won't control TCPMP, CorePlayer or PocketMusic. Every time i push a button on the device it automatically opens up Windows Media Player. The remote buttons do work in WMP (except for the "Mute' button), but who uses that? So I installed the drivers that came on the mini CD. But the install indicated that my current drivers were up to date. So I downloaded the drivers shown on the HTCDepot product page. Same result...my drivers are current. So this device does not seeem to control anything besides WMP. Every button on the device launches WMP.
Anyone else have any experience with this product on the Tilt 2 with stock ROM?
Stock French ROM on mine, using the same Headset.
It works with WMP and the HTC Manilla MP3 player. Nothing else.
If the phone is not playing anything, and I press the "Play" button, then it runs the Manilla MP3 player, not WMP.
The product is quite good, but lack of connectivity to other software, unfortunatly.
I have heard mixed reviews.....but I might get it anyways for the car so I don't have to wear out the power button to change tracks. I am the typical guy who changes stations every minute.....lol!!!!
have you tried an app like ae button plus to see if you could assign the button presses to the different apps?
Good suggestion. I have tried AE and RKC and also the button mapping options inside of PocketMusic and TCPMP. But everytime you push one of the buttons on the remote when trying to map it, it opens up Windows Media Player instead of accepting the input to the various mapping dialogs. I am tired of fiddling with it and sending it back. Thanks all.
Phone Buttons Not Working
I have one of these as well, only WMP works, but in addition, the phone buttons do nothing.
Works fine on Tilt 1. Do your phone buttons work ?
Thanks.

Using stock WWE UK ROM (2.07.401.1) /w RCE100, all buttons on the remote are working ... did not install the drivers that came with the headset.
HTH,
This remote work perfectly with "pocket player" from Conduit.
I note, there's some bugs if you have S2U2 installed even with last version 2.41 (establish USB connection very slow and lose contrle of the buttons after 10~15 mins.
Hi...
I want to use my Hd2 as car pc... Yes you might say, it has a navipanel allready. But its not that what i imagine, however its similar. Navi panel has 6 Buttons, for Calling, go home, start copilot and so on. But no buttons for starting a music player or video player, gmeter ( i love it). So i am searching for an customizable Panel where i can set my 6 Buttons, like in CHT. It would be perfect if the APP connects to my a2dp Radio when it starts...
Is there any app can do this??
Regards
don't know if this is what you're looking for but what did was use wisbar advance desktop. from there i created the following shortcuts on my screen:
1) call home
2) call my wife's cel
3) call my kid's cel (yeah, these days they have phones as well =)
4) gps (papago or navigon)
5) pocket player (music)
6) coreplayer (when my kid is in the car and we go for long drives)
7) bt toggle (activates a2dp)
my phone is bonded to my trusty old r35 headset which is then plugged to my car's sound system. for my wife's car, this is no longer needed as she already has bt built in her car. yeah, i got the older model =) so when i toggle my bt, it connects immediately to the r35 and thus streams all sounds through the speakers.
cheers
Can you sync your contacts over bluetooth to your BMW?
I am a (soon to be ex) Evo 3D owner and HTC screwed up this feature when they upgraded all their phones to Bluetooth 3.0.
I'm thinking seriously of dumping the Evo 3D but need to know if this feature works with the Galaxy S II.
As BMW owners know, you can sync your contacts to your BMW vie bluetooth and initiate phone calls from the directory on the iDrive screen. This is a lot easier than trying to mess with your phone's display while driving. However, this feature was lost with HTC's bluetooth 3.0 update.
Anyone with SGS2 and a BMW who can confirm that this works on their car?
Also, if it does work, what year is your BMW?
I have a 2010 335i and the SGS2 syncs contacts perfectly. But not the other "office" options (I think that only works with Blackberries).
Cool thanks, that gives me hope!
318 from 12/08 with Navi Professional.
I get all numbers from my contacts into my car but no address data. Very annoying cause you cannot use your navi comfortably.
With my old WM6.1 HTC Touch Pro it worked like a breeze.
I hope there will be a fix soon. Bluetooth is just crappy in the SGS2. It's got problems with pairing with my PC, too. It gets paired but sharing files via BT is impossible. The device manager shows me that drivers are missing.

SGS functioned perfectly with contacts sync on my BMW 325i 2006 iDrive, upgraded to SGS2 which wont even pair, giving an error message "pairing rejected by BMW####".
upgrading the firmware to XXKG1 didn't solve the issue, am gonna see if i can update the idrive's version and post back if resolved

Oh no, that sucks. That's the same year as my iDrive.

Perhaps it's time to upgrade your car
I re-checked on my 2010 professional navi and contacts are fully sync'ed; even addresses.
I further investigated about bluetooth and indeed android (linux in general) implementation is quite limited. Beyond the basic audio, agenda and stereo audio (which also works in the BMW), BMW Teleservices require DUN (dial up networking) which worked on my old Windows Mobile 6 device but not on the SGS2 and BMW office requires MAP (message access profile) which is not available in android.
And though A2DP streams audio to the car, there is no information on what is playing, nor cover art.
Maybe some xda developer will be so kind as to develop these profiles. I would gladly pay to have my phone fully connected to my car.
I have 2010 3 series with iDrive. Phonebook syncs flawlessly and handsfree works great. Can't get audio streaming to work though, the phone starts playback but I hear no audio. The display is telling me 'Please Wait'.
BMW Mini Cooper with Mini Boost audio system - all contacts synced properly.
It has no A2DP audio so I can't test that and it doesn't have a satnav so addresses deff do not sync.
ok... i see a lot of people here do not know what kind of iDrive system you have and hence making it hard for others to judge. i know this is old but i am running into issues with my CCC based iDrive and my JB based Samsung galaxy s2
Please post Year, make, model and type of iDrive or BT OEM equipment you might have...
2007 BMW 335i with CCC iDrive
SGS2 with 4.1.2 JB
Just an quick FYI
CCC iDrive was the first idrive that was placed on the market and believe it runs from 2006 till 2008
CIC iDrive was the second get and it runs from 2009 -2012
CIC High iDrive is the current one 2013 and on...
Have
SGSII with 4.2.2 Slimbean and dorimanx 9.34
X3 CIC I-drive 2011
Contacts with adresses and pictures work fine also SMS and callhistory
Audiostreaming working but no audioinformation transmitted ( Issue of ROM/Kernel )
I am trying to get my device to work with my Ford Sync--which I like (so no haters, please).
When I connected my previous phone (iPhone 4) I could use it through USB. I use a music streaming service (Rdio) and it would be able to transfer the song's data (Track name, album photo) to the car stereo.
When I changed my phone to the Note and connect via USB, it says that the device is an unknown USB device and to disconnect it. However, it charges.
I know I can stream via bluetooth A2DP, but that's not what I want to do (plus the bluetooth stack doesn't sound anywhere as good as the iPhone's for some reason). Not to mention that I can't see song data on the screen.
I have tried connecting the device and setting it as USB mass storage (which is a b!tch, by the way, on a car radio) and all it does it see the device as a hard drive (again, not what I want it to do).
Does anyone know of a way to get the audio stream and control over the USB port?
Much appreciated to all efforts.
I do the same but stream my audio via BT. Will check again in my ford sync tonight to verify

The sync system does require updates from time to time. Its possible you may need one. I got tired of plugging in my phone all the time so I eventually decided to use one of my old phones as basically an mp3 player. It stays in my console connected to USB all the time. I only take it out to add or delete music, update Pandora, etc.
I just tested my 2008 Fusion with Sync. It worked fine with BT.
I had to push the AUX button on the front of the radio to get to BT audio, to allow it to stream to the car radio.
I use A OK Radio app to listen to music.
The sync voice did say something about going to Media Menu to setup streaming, but that was not required.
Ah. Thanks for the responses. What I've been doing is exactly that--leaving my old iPhone as the music device. However, I miss being able to stream albums that don't reside local to the old phone. I'm thinking of rooting my Note just to allow my iPhone to pick up other albums.
Also, I forgot to mention that I have the My Ford Touch system (2011 Explorer) with the Sync interface if that bit of info helps.
