Hi, I tried to use the icon charger to change the icons, and I also back up the original WM icons, but when I want to restore it, I found I lost the icons from the Cookies Home Tab, like the "Wifi toggle switch", etc
Does anyone know how to save those icons?
Thanks

Use a decent file exploror and look in the Windows directory on your phone for all of the CHT_ image files and make a copy. Alternatively look HERE for a full set of the originals. Just unzip and copy them to your Windows folder and overwrite any existing files, soft reset and you'll have the originals back.
I have found that using the HTC Tools>Clear Icon Cache feature in JWMD clears a lot more than just the icons you are changing so I have stopped using it. Now I use JWMD to make the icon changes, but then simply navigate to Application Data>HTC>ProgLauncher and delete the items in there relating to the programs you have just changed the icons for. Again, soft reset and the changes will be made. Doing it this way means that only the icons you want to change are cleared from the cache.
Hope this helps

Is there any way to change an icon in PPC2003 mobile?
Specifically, I use the program Battery Pack 2004 (v5.3) which comes with the Today screen plugin "Program Bar". This lets you setup shortcuts and place them on an MS Office like bar on the today screen. but many of the icons are generic and confusing and I'd like to change them. For example, if I add a link/shortcut to a folder called "Utilities", the link/shortcut shows up as a folder icon. If I place several different similar links next to each other, they all look the same. I'd like to change the icon to something meaningfulld, like a folder with a bit U on it ....
Any ideas?
create or copy any desired icon file into this folder and name it "icon.lnk"

Thanks, I'll give that a wirl....
Created an Icon, copied it to the Windows\Startmenu\Util directory and renamed it icon.lnk.
Notta. ??
There are icon creation programs out there as I remember trialing one for a while. Wasn't freeware and din't end up buying it. Don't remember the name but I downloaded from handango.
If you wanted to change the icon I presume you would also need to creat a shortcut link the exe file you want to execute?

edcap,
I have an Icon creator, editor. In fact, I have the icon I want to use. But the question I have is how do I get it to show up on PPC2003? Specifically, how do I make it be the icon for a folder I have created?
Thanks in advance...
Help??? :?:
Ive been searching for it, but never found how to change the icons nor manual or with any program. I don´t think it´s possible to change the icons on WM2003.
Thanks, but it HAS to be possible.
We have 2 remote control rovers driving around on Mars right now taking pictures, drilling into rocks and digging holes in the red sand. We MUST be able to change an icon in my PDA??

Yes, it is. But it's not really simple, and I don't know the whole story, so this is more of a hint to get you started, not a complete solution.
Look at the "Games" folder in your start menu for an example. It has a different icon. So, if you look into the actual Games folder, there is a file called icon.lnk. This is NOT the actual icon, but a link (sic!) that points to an icon resource inside the ceshell.dll.
I did not try, but it may suffice to have that link point to an icon file (whatever that format is). Also, make sure you get the number in front of the # sign in the icon.lnk file right.
If all else fails, create a DLL that contains your icons as resources (you'll need a resource editor for that - Visual Studio has one, for example, but there are others), and have the icon.lnk point to an icon resource inside that DLL, similar to how the Games folder icon works.
Cheers
Daniel
Search the net for this sollusion, described by tadzio above. I know there even is programs for changing foldericons. Altough, there is no program for changing program icons yet..
And ive found no sollusion to this, anywhere...
Happy hunting, if you find anything. Please let us know!
Hello everyone,
I can see many custom icon sets out here, but after some downloads, I realised I would like to create my own icon set, to satisfy my creative needs
The question is: Is there somewhere any kind of application (on PC or PPC) that enables you to replace stock icons on their respected locatons
I'll make myself more clear... Let's say I would like to change my Start menu icons (folders, apps,...) I do know that you can do this with some apps already available on the WM 6.5 platform, but only individually. What I'm searching for, is an app that manages to replace the icons with my own, importing (replacing) them on their locations (for example it will find the icon "Comm Manager" under Start Menu>Settings>Connections>Comm Manager.lnk) In this approach you could make one personalized icon set and use it repeatedly even after a new ROM arrives all in one sweep.
I understand that all aplications are packed in .cab files. So perhaps there is one desktop app, that manages to link my .png/.ico files to the appropriate files, converts that to a .cab and after copying to the storage, that cab after execution would replace/overwrite all the icons.
Hope it's understandable. Sorry, english is not my native language.
If this was asked/commented before, I apologise for bringing that up again...
See you all
there is nothing to do exactly what you want.
however, if you use jwmd and change them 1 by 1, you can save as a "theme" and then import it after you flash a new rom and get the same icons back.

Great app, this will do, thanks! Downloading now, will try it out
Which xml's must I edit and what code should I look for in order to change the dock background color? I tried reading the tuts on xda but they are somewhat unclear and mostly talk about the progress bar (bar attached to pulldown menu). Can someone help me? Once I figure out which files to change I believe I will be good!
Am I in the wrong section?
kinda need to know what launcher you are using... if you use launcherpro, just edit the .png to your liking, and assign dock background under custom in launcherpro settings...
if your on a rom without a market launcher you can use ninja morph. go to system/app/twframework once it opens it up go to res/drawable hdpi (V4) if you have that. then look for the files you want to change. long press the file and hit edit you can adjust the color and the transparencey. it will not save until you push menu/save image then go back to the main screen hit finish/twframework*******very important******** hit overwrite/ no to zipalign/ no to clean up. then reboot and your done.
with ninja morph you can change icon and icon colors along with transparency. congtratulations.
******BY THE WAY IF I DID NOT MENTION******** NANDROID BACK UP *********************************************************
AS LONG AS YOU HAVE YOUR STUFF BACKED UP YOU CAN EDIT AND CHANGE WHATEVER.
If you have a third party launcher the process is still the same. except the files are in data/app/ (whatever launcher your using) once you complete the work you finish project/no to overwrite
download signapktic fro, the market find the file in adroidthemes/workspace and select platform/ then sign it.
uninstall the original launcher and go to your files and install you work. i have done this with launcher pro and altered it to my liking because of the icons and docks.
GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY!

Hello all,
I'm using the latest version of GO Launcher Theme Factory, and I've made a theme with around 30 icons, but I can't seem to add custom icons for other apps that aren't in GO's list. For example, I want to add a Nexflix icon for my theme, but I can't because when I double click on the add custom icon button, GO wants me to open an .apk file, not an image file. If anyone knows how to add a new icon to the list where it's actually an image file, or if anyone has an .apk file that I could download to my comp that has a bunch of custom icons listed (I'll make my own actual icons), that'd be great.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Bishop
Same problem here
Hey Bishop, Have you found the solution to this by any chance? I'm stuck with the same problem. :/
Thanks in advance!

[EDIT - 5 mins later... lol]
Just figured it out. Gonna put the solution here just in case any one else comes upon this thread:
The .apk refers to the .apk of the app whose icon you would like to customize.
So say, if you wanted to create a custom icon for Minecraft Pocket Ed, you'll need to add "Minecraft_Pocket_Edition_v0.1.2.apk" to GO Theme Factory via Icon Exchange> App Icon > Add/Delete App Icon > Custom Icons > "Add".
A dialogue box that says "Parsing" will be on screen for quite a while, then the icon will be added!
Can't believe it was so simple... dddduuurrrr (◔ ◡ ◔)"""
How to add a biggest icons to the theme? Like in Glass theme? Not 72x72. Something like 86x86 or even bigger.
icons don't change on device for some phones
Hello, when i try adding custom apk to add icons i get parsing error every time! Becausr some icons like music and downloads etc don't change with preset icons in the exchange. Thanks in advanced!
Making a new GO Theme Factory thread
Hey guys I have been going through the process of making themes on GO Themes Factory as well and think we all need a new thread where we can all come together and help others/ask questions. It will be under the "Android Themes" section.
Jeremy
I'm not sure what happened, but right now my icons are all messed up. Every new icon has like a background-colour circle underneath it; like an adaptive icon, and then it has a white background underneath that icon. Basically, my icons have two backgrounds on it, like adaptive icon-ing it twice.
Thus the logos are smaller, thus everything looks wrong. I can temporarily "restore" it by going to the Galaxy Theme and installing an icon, but will have to reapply it every time I get a new app - and thus, a new icon.
I tried factory resetting via the system reset setting, but the issue persisted. So I think this weird double background issue overwrote the original file without touching a system setting.
This happened while I was changing themes via the Galaxy Theme but had Ruthless Launcher running, which might have gotten a conflict via the icons. I tried reinstalling, trying different settings, resetting Ruthless, none worked. Not sure if there's like a system file for Ruthless I could reset either, but so far no luck.
Anyway, if there's a known solution, or if there's a way to reinstall the icons, I'd really appreciate it!

Hi
Is kind of strange what you describe , factory resetting should had "clear" the issue , unless you are restoring a backup of your old configuration , google drive , onedrive..or something like that. . Try factory reset and do not configure anything else , accounts or wifi see if it still returns to the unwanted icons
To install the default icons should be very easy , settings/ themes/ my stuff / default Icons
A more drastic solution would be flashing firmware again .....
Yeah I went full factory settings, without restoring any backups! Issue still there.
I guess I could flash firmware but I would rather not. At least, not so quickly after I just got the phone sigh.
Also going into settings, themes, default icons doesn't work, because it's the default icons that are looking weird; I have a feeling that the original icon files were overwritten somehow. That's why I want to "reinstall" instead of "reapplying."
Thank you for trying! I realise it's a pretty unique problem. Will just have to live with it so far.
