Hi all.
Bought my lady X10 mini some time ago, all works fine, except answering the calls, it takes her good few slides to answer call, very often she gives up as it gets very annoying. I tried it myself and indeed is a tricky one , you need to be very careful and do it slowly, it requires attention... should be intuitive i think!
Any ideas?
Thanks
It's even more annoying with the alarm. It has a slidy thing, and it's a real pain fumbling around trying to turn it off when it wakes you up.
I'm glad the phone doesn't have a slide to unlock, because SE absolutely failed with the slide things.

no problem here with both, i can do it quick or slow works every time
well, my lady isnt yet converted to touch devices at all, i reckon is going to be few years , but xperia is annoying here. I have looked for some replacement for default sliding tool, app called Easy Answer Button, it does work on my Desire cant check Xperia at the moment though.
Humm.....
to my wife im looking for one app like this....push to answer.
Anibody knows ?
Me too search something to change the slide cause I find that it's not fast and not so simple. For example, press screen anywhere will be more easily to turn off alarm than slide. Of course this solution is not really recommended to answer call but maybe something else exist ?
Ive got problems with slide functions too (alarm ,etc...but not with calls ).you have to move your finger a bit higher than the button is.that helps for me

right, "easy answer button" apps works, only thing had to do is to choose "small screen" option from the menu, but it solved problem with answering, tested on my lady too!

I tried to search easy answer button in the Market, but i found nothing. Any suggestions?
after OTA update i cant see it on the market too... i have wiped phone when updating and now im at the same point...

Well, Ive been a bit cheeky:
I followed the link, and basically couldnt go any further as well. So I sent a friend of mine the link, and asked him to download it for me and send it to me. He agreed. Ive now installed it on my phone, and it looks a little like this on my X10 Mini Pro:

Good afternoon.
I am looking for a today plug-in that would just give me counters for missed calls - sms/mms - and email only (kind of what HTC home does without the big clock). I only want that - I have found a clock that I really like. Does anyone know if there is such a plug-in or a way to modify something that exists to accomplish my needs? I have searched and not found anything like this...I am anal about my today screen and want it just the way I want it - so I am throwing it out there to see if anyone has what I am looking for...
Thanks in advance for any help (as usual)!!

this program is "not free." but you should PM me for a trial that never expires...
EDIT:
I have the email counter turned off, but it's easy to turn back on.
shame on you for a "trial that never expires".
I've been a long time beta tester for SPB Softwarehouse and have beta tested every program that's available. There are several programs by SPB that can do this, but as stated, PhoneSuite is probably the easiest and best for what you are looking for.

yup - big duhhh - I am getting olllllllllllllllld thx ebb
The ext battery status will do this as well... the one with the clock... and you can easily turn the clock off to just show the messaging, voicemail, sms counter.... u can even turn off the battery meter part of it. Best part is that it is a free app that uses verry little ram.

This seems to be the best solution - one question though for the programming/registry experts in here - I have the ion clock installed and I don't want the scrollbar to occupy the WHOLE today screen! Is there a way of editing the registry, or something like that, that will allow me to have the scroll bar only halfway up or even lower than that?
Thanks in advance

Ha ha ha Crazy... Love the concept .. karma all around.
Awesome App
I was the one who originally requested this app and I am just so happy that this kind man actually made it!
Not that I am complaining, but there is one small omision that might help make it a little more useable. A "reset counter" button in the main menu might be a good idea, some people switch mantras or prayers everyonce in a while. Many practices in buddhism will have you doing a certain number of mantra recitations and then your done and start another practice.
Not a biggy at all. I am so impressed that this got written in the first place.
Om mani padme hum.

Sorry but what a ridiculous app. Almost as ridiculous as the bible reader apps you get,
lol...the effort you put in is appreciated...i never really expected an app for this purpose.... its great work...

Necrotek, thank you so much for this great app, I have not even imaged that there will be someone willing to make this kind of thing... I was in researching of kind of counter and this one meets perfectly my need! I'll definitely make a donation!!!
Report: runs very well on my HD2 with Energy ROM, only the texts in the app are a bit blurred
May I suggest something for your further dev and please continue this project!!
1. Please make it MULTI that allows us to count different mantras; each one namable by user, and of course let the app remember theme after closed. We need it badly please
2. Allows user to adjust the count results to any numbers
3. If you could make it SKINNABLE for the background & beans than this will be wonderful. Ex. I'm a buddhist and my sister is catholic, so I can make a skin for her rosary. (If it is done I'll contribute on it as I'm a web designer.
Wish all the fortune and dharma be with you!!!
---sorry for my English---
....still same error......(......I receive error when I choose YES to make soft reset in BsB.....problem with DLL PInvoke 'HtcUtil'......I'm going to test some ideas....)
I make soft reset manually but same problem with Mala touch.
Thanks!!
Is there a widget out there that displays the wifi network the phone is currently connected to?
I did a quick search and nothing came up. I would love something very minimalistic (Name only would be perfect)
Thanks!
Hi there,
I just wrote myself a small tool which displays the name of the connected wifi (ssid) in the notification bar. it is configurable on how long the notification is going to be displayed (or kept permanently).
I haven't done a widget yet. But if you wanted one, I could set one up. The question here is: what will be on the widget when not connected to a WiFi?
Let me know if you want to check it out.

One thing that could be improved for me is to keep that notification all the time even if we clear the area.
Because sometimes I wonder if my wifi is connected or just on
Thanks for the app ( I was going to make my own if I didn't find anything )
Hi Shusshu,
don't know if I find the time to improve that thing. If you care we could together on this (that is, when either one of us finds some time). Don't really know how clean and tidy the code is since it's been a long time ago.
Sure I can improve it. Shall we put it on github.?

Minimalistic text does this and you can have your phones IP and MAC adress showing as well as tons of other info.
I'll revisit the code during this week and probably put it on github.

Holy moly, hell of a week. Sorry for taking so long. I thought I might find some time to clean up the code a little. Turned out I didn't...
Well, I finally managed to put it on GitHub. Just had a quick look at the code (it's been aeons since I last got my hands dirty) and I promise it's not going to be pretty
Anyways, it's a tiny project. So you won't have any issues in understanding it.

Replying to first question - I have found and use one small widget (1x1) which toggles wifi on and off and has ssid name on itself.
Pretty nice.

ad-hoc scan?
btw, is there an app to scan and list the available ad-hoc networks within range? I know we cant connect to ad-hoc without rooting, but just displaying it?
ask you add new feature
Hi, knox420! Your program is exactly that I searching long, long time. It works perfectly with Heads-up.
Do you have plans for future improvements? Can I ask you add new feature - replace carrier name with connected ssid name?

Data is working 95% flawlessly on PPP.
APN properly set for T-Mo
DNS info properly set for T-Mo and it's apps
used different firmware in a couple instances
NO ROBO VOICE CRAP
A few other small things, fully up to 1/24 CM7 is another point.
Overall this works better for me than copen's original did.

This is one of the fastest Android systems I've used. It scores 1670 on Quadrant. Ive had tested others which score higher (into the 2k range), but this one just seems sooo much quicker. Only thing I've found that I don't like is that some apps dont fill the screen(the slidelock screen, pandora, speed test). I am not used to such a small dpi and having a case on the phone makes it hard to drag down the notification bar, but that may be from my sausage fingers. Also, I cant seem to be able to pin an app shortcut onto the desktop with a long press. Doesnt seem to be an option for it like other roms I've tried. But so far I am liking it, but it will take some time to get used to.
Edit: I figured out how to drop an app on the desktop. Silly me. Longpress on the app from the menu and simply drop it onto the homescreen. So much easier!!!!!!!!!!
Will give it a spin
Alright glad to see some gb hitting the threads especially on sd --I am running cope's now will give this one a try downloading now its late will work on it tomorrow Thanks for the work
I have installed on my EU HD2 but how to make mobile data working?
Tnx for the build!
Just been playing around a bit on the latest. Incorporated copenhagens fix for su....but I'm gonna give things another go around seeing about getting it perfect....kinda a workaround at the moment.
T-Mobile US users will likely be the only ones capable of using my builds as stated before. Data is working flawlessly in this build.
Tomorrows update will include at least the such fix, Facebook added back in, possible progress towards kineto , and who knows what else.....

<<<<< IGNORE THIS POST!! AGAIN IGNORE THIS POST !!!! ITS NOT ACCURATE >>>>>
Seems SE has some sort of dual screen lock. if the screen turns off running the app im talking about here and locks it works fine but at some point not sure but guessing 5-10min if the phone is left longer then that then the default slider lock is back as active and you still have to use it to get up 1 step for screen tools to get active again. so again ignore this post since its inaccurate!
Ok ive been looking around here and on lots of other forums and sites trying to find a app or a way to not being forced to use SE default slide lock. And ive tried all the suggestions ive found like No Lock app and pattern changes on the phone ect.
But nothing realy did the job all the way, and if you´ve every used your phone outside when its cold you know why i wanna get rid of that crap, and pressing a real button almost allways works compaired to touchscreen buttons (not to mention its still a pain indoors too)
but ive finaly found a app that works if you set it up the way i have (but thats all personal ofc you can set it any other way but these steps need to be marked).
App: Screen Tools 1 just search app market and you´ll find it and its free.
the way ive set it up works like this: you press the Home button twice, 1 press opens screen and you can just check if you missed a text or a call ect but the screen is still locked, press a second time and its open ready to be used.
Pic 1 is from the topp and pic 2 is just the last missing bit at the bottom pic 1 missed

I did and naa didnt do it for me. i dont like toys that can run every app in the house or control the subway, dont you know less is more? i just wanted a small app that would do just that 1 thing im after to be able to use a physical button and since you still have to hit home button to activate
screen 1 more push to unlock is just right
im running xhawkings optimized stock ROM and thats just perfect in my mind perfomance without all the 30 billion options in settings and apps that ppl nowdays seem to love. if i didnt need some apps to keep my days and life in order id still be using my old text only Nokia no cam no MMS nada was just perfect. but yeah i hear ppl like that one too. but naa no point running a app that has loads of options when i just need 1.
PS: i forgot that GOTO still runs a slider just what i DONT want and is still on touchscreen so how can it be better?
