using a registry editor (aka Total commander) go to :
Windows\Start Menu\Programs
hold down on you .lnk and click properties.
now click "shortcut" and you will see exactly where the .exe is located.

Hey guys and gals - i've read about the hidden files on the Evo 3d's SD card. Can anyone tell me exactly how to 'view' them in order to transfer everything to my new 32gb card coming soon please. I've searched and saw to go to tools and to view hidden content or files etc, yet when i go to tools on the drive i see nothing of the sort. Any and all help is appreciated
*when i look in the data folder the green hornet movie and all files associated w/ it are in there, so maybe the files are not hidden on my device for some reason? just a thought*

I'm on Windows XP so it might be different for you but what to do to view hidden folders/files within another drive/disk is:
-Start > My Computer, then select your drive (E:, F:, etc).
-Hit the tab at the top labeled Tools > Folder Options > then the tab that says View.
-Look for the box labeled 'Advance Settings' then make sure you click on the option that says 'Show hidden files and folders'. Then go back and see if the hidden folders appear. That should do it and I don't think the instructions can be too different across XP/7. Sorry if this doesn't help at all!
Thanks, i am a fairly new windows7 user coming from xp. Your instructions did help, in windows7 had to go to ORGANIZE->FOLDER & SEARCH OPTIONS->VIEW->SHOW HIDDEN FILES
Don't really notice much difference (didnt really know what to look for that was missing anyway LOL hope this makes changing to a 32gb card smoother!

Haha I feel you! I just moved to a 16 gig yesterday and had to do the same thing. Glad I could help.
another quick way is go to orb and in search type in folder options on windows 7 pops right up .
Can you help me? My files on SD card are not totally hidden. But whenever I check the properties to see how much amount my files consumed, there's a big difference.
Here's what I did. I open the SD card, select all files and check the properties, which is 1.9 gb in size, but 3.08 gb on size on disk. Another thing is that under computer where my SD card is in f: drive it says "25.5 gb free of 29.7 gb".. I am worried that my SD card have some important files which are hidden, but I don't know what to do. I want to reformat my SD card, but I want to make sure that I have backup all the files. Please help me!
My HD2 was flashed with Energy 29022 Sense CHT 2.0 rom 4 days ago. Everything is fine except that I noticed that the internal memory goes down daily. Right after flashing there's about 170 MB, and today there are only 40+ MB left. I have installed most programs in the external storage card, and more importantly, set all my programs to store data in the external starage card. However, obviously some program is storing data in the internal memory without me being aware of it. Can you please give me some hint where to look for those data storage folders in the internal memory? Or which program/app is the suspect? Thanks and Happy New Year!!!
Have you tried moving your Opera Cache Files to Storage Card?
Open Opera and type "opera:config" in the address bar. You'll then be in the config page. Find the section "User Prefs".
In there you should find something called "Cache Directory4". Just change that path to any directory in your storage card
(for example : "\Storage Card\OperaCache"). Scroll to bottom of page and hit Save.
This thing also happens to me... And I'm not using opera. But when I remove my sim and my sd card and turn the phone back up again the lost memory is recovered. Why is that?
Install the attached cab file, after installation open it go to menu> selection> select all> CLEAN.
Do it once a day at least.
there is an option for automatic cleaning by selecting certain folders , I think you can select three folders.
On another note, don't forget to select SD card option when installing programs or Cabs.
Edit : look for the attachment in the next post.
Hope this time the upload is successful.
Is it safe to do a "select all" clean? I read in some posts that it messed up winmo.

After installing programs on my S3, the folders are hidden on the internal sd card. Does ne1 know how to unhide all programs?
if you only want to show the hidden files in internal sd,open "My Files" then settings and check "Show hidden files".you should then be able to see the hidden files marked by a dot before the filename( .thumbnails).

Thanx LaZyDood. I'll give it a try.
Best regards,
I have wasted more than one day for trying to find solution, but just a half is done.
I have HTC DESIRE 516 Dual Sim Mobile phone. After a lot of time of trying and searching for root solution, I finally found a Kingo ROOT software solution.
But.... after all, I have a big problem to find a program that can moving files to ext. SD card. One of the software, that I have already installed, called Link2SD tell me the next:
App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move its files to your SD card.

For this type of error I found the following answer:
If you get "Sdcard share the same disk with os", means that Android os set up ***default*** SD card and system partition in one disk, So we can't move apps from system to default SD card, cause they are in the same disk.

Already i have tried much of applications from google store, but not with luck. Linking files with SD card is working, but the size of these files is to low, the big files are still on int. storage ...
Is there any posible solution to move my non-system application (or delete & again install) to ext. SD card (32 GB) ?

Have you tried using Titanium Backup? You can use that to move apps to SD card.

Yes, right now I tried with Titanium backup, but the program does not have the option to move the program to the SD card. I can only backup the entire application, but it is not the solution for my problem, because the application still exists on the internal memory, and if I delete that application, then it can not be used, just in restore way ...
Thank you

Try the batch actions menu in Titanium. You should have a move option. Select the apps you want to move then click the check mark.

Just one option in Batch options is there in Move / Integrate section, and that one is "Integrate updates of system apps into ROM" ... I have already read it 3x all the options
