JI6 is rootable. What's J16?
Sent from my Team Whiskey Powered Vibrant
J16 is the OTA update that was sent out over the last couple of weeks to fix a number of problems with the Galaxy S phones...in particular, the problem with the GPS not being able to lock onto satellites or function reliably in general. I have read some threads where a few folks who were rooted and then did the update messed up their phones.

Once you do you'll be happy you did and wonder why it took so long to get to that happy place =)
Easiest way is to download the TGA's One click root/unroot, then install ROM Manager, run Clockwork Recovery in ROM manager to download/install it for the 1st time, download a ROM from the Dev section (I like Bionix Fusion & Eugene's Vibrant Hybrid), and follow the instructions in the ROM's OP (select reboot into recovery yadda yadda yadda)....

Superuser does not root your phone . In fact your phone must be rooted to install Superuser from the market . Just download Z4root and put the Z4root.apk on your phone then install it .

Superoneclick could be a good idea. Install it and just click on unroot. They say just don't mount the sd card and you'll be fine.

CWM Bad boot fix?

Hello I am a user of a LG Phoenix, I already rooted my phone via GingerBreak and installed Rom Manager and got CWM.
Well it shows all blue colors (Which I can deffinatly deal with) and says
Code:
ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
E: Bad boot message
"recovery"
I don't mind that message either BUT it don't let me install any roms or do anything in recovery, I wanted to install 2.3 and can't with this happening.
Sorry if there's another thread I am a little lazy looking for them, but I searched for about 20 minutes to find a fix but there's none.
Thanks,
Mike

Are you saying my phone is bricked and this will save it from being fully bricked and I don't need 2.3 I just want to overclock past 600mhz and get rid of AT&T bloatware.

Is it possible to unroot my phone so I can watch SKYGO?

As title
I would rather have skygo than my rooted phone, how do I go about doing it without losing all my apps?
Thanks
...
If you are rooted using chainfire superSU, go in supersu settings and you will find an option to completely unroot
Otherwise, flash a stock kernel from your rom

any other way as I cant get odin on my work pc?
ignore this
I wiped all my apps and forgot my phone was unlocked which was only available through root so I have to keep root.
Whats the best rom to use these days?
get the stock kernel from <sammobile.com>. and flash through ODIN. really very simple. but then you root for the fun and freedom and why go back?
