Sounds like you did delete a major file. Might want to find the original.

I have a serious issue here, I cant delete the sample music.
I cant delete them from file explorer, in android and on a computer.
I cant transfer files to the music-folder.
What is this? I searched around, but there is no answers.
Anyone there that can help me?
Much appreciated.
Edit: rooted, did not help.
Do you have Root Explorer? I had a similar issue after downloading a program that had sample audio files, and I could not delete them even after uninstalling the program, but once I rooted, I was able to delete them using Root Explorer, but not with File Manager or ES Explorer.
Thanks, tried with Root Explorer. But it did not help.
This is just weird.

If you are on stock rom, do a factory reset:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23354564#post23354564
Okay, I will try that.
Can I just reset it normally in the settings menu? Or do I have to do something special, since its rooted?
Probably a dumb question, but I searched and can't find the answer...I am trying to download a.txt file in chrome and it keeps opening a new window and showing me the contents..I need to remove the .txt extension and put the file in my system directory for a fix on vvm. I would just copy and paste and save it in a new file but I don't know what kind of program to save code in. Thanks for your help

Try downloading in the normal android browser. I'm pretty sure that it will download properly there.

I have been trying to install Copilot navigation, but keep getting the out of space message. I have tried the directory bind solutions shown in the other threads, but still no joy.
So... I tried uninstalling gta3 and some other apps, and but am still getting the message. I don't get it... The manage apps settings page says I have 11gb free.... Why the hell can't I install anything?

Go to data/app and delete the odex file related to the file you are trying to install.. in your case, delete some file named something like copilot .odex or something and install copilot again..done
Thanks for the quick reply.
Do you mean /data, or mnt/data, or sdcard/data.... Can't seem to find any odex files!
If you have installed copilot before then its the old cache thats the problem. Simplest solution is to install 'App Cache Cleaner' free from play store
Edit: sorry scratch that it only clears still installed apps
booting into recovery and wiping the dalvik cache should do it (assuming you're rooted)

You can only see odex files in file explorers using root. i guess you are rooted?.. use root explorer.. open it ...then open data..then open apps and find some odex file related to copilot..delete it.. done

Thanks mate.
I had been using es explorer, which supposedly can access root, but I couldn't see the files.

This usually happens when you use apps like lucky patcher.. if you use it, you mite see odex files which are responsible for out of space errors..
It works

I have flashed a sony based rom some time ago and I have noticed that the sony sample pictures cannot be deleted from the gallery, even using root explorer or file explorer fails to remove them from the system. If anyone has a suggestion or solution please let me know.

just a thought, when using root explorer did you mount the system as Read/Write before deleting pics?

Yes, I mounted system as Read/Write and tried other file managers. Root Explorer is the only one that says it cannot complete action, the others says they are deleted but the thumbnails remain. In the gallery they can be deleted but they reappear the next time it is opened.

I'm sorry, but I'm not really familiar with your device so, I cannot further suggest anything specific.
don't know if this'll work, how about placing a .nomedia file in the folder which contains those pictures?
Downloaded a JPG wallpaper file from androidwalls.net.
When I try to open the file via Download manager it doesn't let me open it as it says 'Can't Open File'. Have I just downloaded a virus masked as a JPG or something ? Haha..
If not, does anybody know why Android doesn't support Jpg's? (I'm sure it must do...)...
Thanks for the help, really appreciate it..

it support it ....but you can use adm pro app ...or please wipe data and cache of the download manger app ....or simply via stock browser and open an image and then click save image
Thanks for that - appreciate it.
Just wondering - what made the JPG I downloaded so unusable ? How come it wouldn't open?
I didn't unintentionally download some sort of virus right ?

Maybe the file is just corrupted? Maybe the download didn't finish properly, hence no app can open it..
