I installed the app no lock and I think what it did is it deleted my side to unlock. When I turn off lock pattern it still won't show me it. It goes straight to the home screen. I did a factory reset and started from new and it still won't come up. Is there a way to bring it back? I think maybe flash a new rom on there? But idk where I can get the original vibrant rom without any changes. Thank you

Hello everyone,
A couple days ago, I went into the settings and added the unlock pattern screen to my phone. I was hoping to add this AFTER the slide screen, so when I saw that the slide screen was gone, I decided to remove the unlock pattern screen. Now that I have done that, when my phone tries to boot up, it's still telling me to draw a pattern, even though I went into settings and removed the pattern unlock setting. As a result, when I go to draw a pattern, it doesn't recognize anything and says incorrect pattern. Now I can't access anything in my phone. Does anyone know what I may be able to do to correct this situation?
BTW, I'm using FREEX10 Beta 3.
There is an option to hide the dots, but you still have to draw a pattern - have you tried using you pattern over what might be the invisible dots?
No, I can't even access the settings to change anything regarding the pattern setup at this point. But I did not try that...not sure it would make a difference anyhow? Thanks for the response though!! Anyone have any other ideas? Or will I be forced to restore my 2.1 backup? Don't want to do that quite yet until I know that's my only option.
Well I messed with it some more. Seems like you can draw the pattern, but you just don't see the pattern trail. So apparently, my pattern was still working, I just happened to check off the box with the visible pattern. Stupid me, I feel like an idiot now.
Can someone help me in getting rid of the lock screen? I wan to use my phone just after pressing the home screen no additional step by swiping the lock screen.
Very simple, install No Lock. It does what it says.
Working on Cognition 1.31,
Cheers.

I installed it, but still not working is there any tricks?
A bit weird way, more of a bug in the lock screen, is to hit the home key 4 times, the lock screen doesn't prevent the voice system from being activated. So you can hit once to activate the screen, two quick to enable the voice talk, and then once more to return to main screen. Bad way, but working.
One thing that really annoys me about my X2 is the fact that when it's idle and I want to use it, I have to first slide my finger left to right to unlock the screen, and then put in my security pattern to use the phone. It's a little redundant and stupid to have to do both. Now that I"m rooted, is there a way I can remove the initial left to right swipe screen unlock?

There's a free app in the Market called No Lock. I have it, and it works great!
Sent from my Droid X² using XDA App
Ah that's right, someone mentioned that before but I wasn't rooted at the time. Thanks.
EDIT: Actually that takes both things off, I only want the initial sliding unlock removed, I still want to enter my pattern...
I found AntiLock which does what I want but is kind of shoddy... it shows the home screen for a split second before making you enter the pattern, and there's no emergency contact button down below. There has to be something else out there.

I use No Lock; put MIUI on my wife's nook color and No Lock was bundled with it. Seems to work well.
No Lock doesn't do what I want though, I still want some security in the form of the pattern lock. I just don't want the stupid left to right swipe screen, it's pointless.
Just got the HTC One M8 from AT&T. Everything is going smoothly so far, but for the life of me I can not figure out how to change the "swipe short cuts" on the unlock button when you are on the lock screen. It is annoying to be forced to swipe up...i have already launched blinkfeed multiple times out of habit of swiping to the right.
Is there an easy fix?
Thanks in advance.
These are hardcoded and cannot be changed in stock configuration

Thanks, I figured that was the case.
