I don't like Dolphin. Too bloated and weird. I just want something that is fast and lean and maybe has tabs. Anything like that out there?
Try Opera Mini. Seems to run pretty fast and smooth and has some great features including tabs.
xScope, best browser on Android IMO. I've tried Opera, Dolphin HD, Skyfire, and default browser.
One finger zooming is pretty handy and multitouch zooming is as smooth or smoother than Dolphin HD. I also prefer the overall look of xScope especially with a dark theme applied.
Opera Mini FTW!
Skyfire, fast and best for flash

xscope 5. they just updated it to xscope 6, but its still buggy and not as nice as easy as 5.
Got a link to xscope 5?

I second that, the flash support is great in skyfire.

I've used most and keep going back to the Default one. Everything else seems bloated and slow. Haven't used xScope is it good?
Xscope is good, v5, but new version v6 still needs lots of improvement
Dolphin is ugly, xScope is pretty, Web is fast, Skyfire is like Web, but a touch slower, but has flash. Opera is nice, but it doesn't feel Android-y.
What I can't understand is why Opera is the *only* browser to implement foldered bookmarks. As a workaround, I have installed Chromemarks, which syncs Chrome's bookmarks so they're all in a nice tree. I just switch back back to Chromemarks when I want to a new link. Flipping through 100+ links is not fun when they're all in a list.
I tried out xscope and like others I just don't like it. Its trying to do too much, I like just a basic web browser. I want to view web pages not have to learn 20 different gestures.
I still say Opera FTW!!
I still like dolphin just because of 1) tabs 2) volume rocker to scroll and 3) sliding bookmark panel
Fennec when it comes out of beta. Can't wait
Stock is the best right now.
Steel is still my go to browser for clean intuitiveness. But i dont use it for Google Reader because it handles embeded video in an odd and annoying way. But its light and clean but is I believe a wittle orphan appy.
Vibrant vibrating nicely now,Kthx!
I use stock but I hear there's better. What's best browser for the atrix
Sent from Atrix ;-)
Dolphin Browser HD (spring for the license, or find it on the web). Some good add-ons for it too. Use desktop mode.
I really want to like Firefox Mobile, as I am a big Firefox fan, but the current beta just isn't all that. DolphinHD is pretty awesome for the Atrix.
Dolphin here as well. Faster and better than the sticker. I also have skyfire, but haven't played with it much. Used to use it on my iphone to play some flash videos.
Dolphin HD works slower than the Firefox beta for me.
I use Miren.

Dolphin HD. Also Opera Mini when only edge available.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
dolphin hd is slower than stock, but allows you to go to desktop sites by default if you configure it. No matter how many times you try, frequently the stock browser will not allow you to go to desktop sites.
The smoothest browser in terms of navigating a webpage is opera mobile 10 hands down (not mini). pinch to zoom is really smooth compared to any other android browser. too bad it doesn't work on the atrix yet and no flash support.

I like dolphin because it allows me to watch Hulu on my phone (after some slight modification of course). For general surfing and especially if you have a non-unlimited plan I would use Opera. It's faster and compresses stuff you have less data usage.

Agreed... I think a lot of people haven't tried/heard of it, but it's beyond solid.
I like dolphin mini or mobile. Works prefect and it's faster than stock and dolphin hd
Xda app via atrix
Best Browser
I have tried them all except that miren one you guys are talking about, I will give it a shot however If you haven't tried Xscope 6 then your missing out. Ive been sing it for months now. Its great. Its very lite and fast. you have nothing to lose by trying it.
OK well I just installed Miren after i made this post and I gotta say its a fantastic browser, Ive only been using it for a few minutes so I cant say I like it better than Xscope yet but I will give it more time.
Miren is really good. Just checked it out, and it is perfect.
Currently using:
-Miren (Default)
-Opera Mini (when not on wifi/on edge)
-Dolphin HD (Only when I want to watch something on Hulu)
I'd been a fan of Xscope until Miren. Miren is at least as fast as Xscope and has a nicer UI, I think. It's a great browser.

Installed miren yesterday and today i uninstalled dolphin mini.
Everyone who recommended miren you guys rock. By far best browser I've used so far!

Weird, I just tried miren and I was very unimpressed. Far slower and nowhere near as smooth as dolplin HD (haven't tried mini)
Miren +1

You betcha!
Even up to when i sold my HD2 ive been using X-Scope browser i have tried most of them from stock, Skyfire, Dolphin and Miren but X-Scope for me remains the best there is, im just curious to know which browser people use?
Cheers
most people use stock browser I do too
I am probably not helping - I guess you are asking only those of us who evaluated many browsers
I use dolphin and like it very well.
What is it you like about x-scope so much?

it's fast, faster than any other browser ive used on Android, ive never had a FC with it either whereas i have with some other browsers.
I use stock browser, it is simple and fast. On wifi it download whole webpage with blink of eye.
I do use firefox sometime as it is linked with my laptop/desktop's bookmarks and history.
I tend to use FF because of syncing with my PC but I dig Opera too. Haven't tried any others.

Miren. I have for quite awhile and I feel that it provides a consistent experience
Mainly dolphin but opera works quite well too. I find the stock browser too bland and basic.

Stock browser
on wi-fi, i use the stock browser, as it is fast, looks great and gives the desktop browser experience, but in my area i can only get edge and for mobile use i prefer opera mini, which with mobile view, pre-rendered and compressed pages and no flash gives you faster access to information while on a slow mobile network or while walking.
I prefer opera. Nice and fast and doesn't have trouble with file hosting websites etc which I've experienced with others for some reason .
Been trying out Opera Mobile recently, and find that it drains battery quite aggressively
Prefer the stock browser though... It seems faster than Opera!
Opera mobile for the best auto text reflow
Stock, no need to add more bloatware.
Dolphin Browser HD is good, swift and stable
I want to know what everyone uses for their internet browsing. I used to use Dolphin HD exclusively with my mt4g, but haven't really used any 3rd party browser yet on the Amaze.
Stock, Dolphin, Opera, Boat, etc...
Does anyone use multiple browsers to handle different tasks? Such as Dolphin for browsing and Opera for downloading?
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
I always found the scrolling on Opera to be the smoothest out of all the browsers I've tried, but Dolphin HD comes pretty close. I use the default browser that comes with the ROM as the default app to open web pages, but whenever I actually have a site to check (Engadget, 9gag, Lifehacker, etc...) I use Opera
skyfire '''''
+1 for dolphon HD, havent found ne thing i like better. Plus i hate "mobile-viewing" web sites and dolphin brings up pages in desktop mode perfectly

I 2nd this post. And that is what made me decide to open this thread, because the stock browser does that as well, so I haven't been tempted to switch yet.
Opera I always found to be overrated with it's UI. I used to use it way back in my Crackberry days, but when Dolphin came out, I left it.
Skyfire was pretty darn good for my last device also, I just disliked the way it looked.
No votes for Boat Browser yet? Anyone tried it. Now that I'm back at work and not in bed ready to fall asleep, I'm gonna DL and try a few to compare.

Not yet. I always saw the word Mini and just assumed it was for the devices with lesser capabilities. What do you like about it?
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
I downloaded Boat, Boat Mini, Dolphin HD, Dolphin Mini, Maxthon, Opera Mini, Skyfire, UC Browser, and I obviously have stock. I will test and update my findings
Early update: UC browser and Maxthon don't even belong in the same discussion so I won't go on about them. They are just EXTREMELY slow. Unbearable.
I couldn't get the 2 Boat browsers or Opera Mini to display desktop view. Major buzzkill! With that being said, out of the strictly mobile browsers, Boat is noticeably faster than the rest. But I need desktop view.
Out of the desktop view browsers (dolphin, dolphin hd, and Skyfire, I was BLOWN AWAY by skyfire's UI and BLAZING speed. It was loading full Google pages and video streaming sites as fast as Dolphin was mobile views of sites, and significantly faster than Stock. Wow.

I left FireFox off the list because I thought it was still in beta stages and isn't polished yet. Dolphin has more add ons than any mobile browser. Dolphin, imo, is the FireFox of mobile even with FireFox being mobile

I would love to say that Opera browsers (mobile or mini) are the only browsers that is fully compatible with Blackboard, if you are a college student. I don't know, it may be some sort of support for javascript and java (runtime thingy is required to run blackboard in PC). With Opera you can load the files in blackboard rather seamlessly, and it was about last year I ran through all the browsers and Opera was the one that didn't fail. However, iphone's safari although stock by itself was able to run Blackboard much better than Opera. So should I try to f*ck Apple or ALL Android's 3rd party browsers (not forgetting Android's stock)?

Nice nugget of info for all college students. Have you tried Dolphin with maybe the proper plug-ins (if any) or skyfire? I'm really digging that ome right now
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Ilike skyfire mostly because of the fact it can also play silverlight videos
I use stock most of the time, but like it was mentioned earlier, I use dolphin for desktop view. Just keep Android agent on one, desktop for the other.

Sleipnir is the best I've tried so far.
I have been playing with it for a while now and have always loved the desktop version as well (not as much as chrome but close) just wonder what others thought and experiences with it were

Runs absolutely smooth. For me it is better than stock. Just remind to install phony as addon so you can switch to desktop views instead of mobile views.

dolphin is better.
I prefer Firefox over dolphin just cuz of the desktop skareing stuff I wish they would finish chrome
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
I downloaded it about a week ago, and it didn't have the zoom in text feature that all othe browsers have.
If they fix that, I'll totally replace Opera.
@plasma what exactly? Double-Tapping on any text-column resizes/zooms lightningly fast, definitely faster than stock 2.3.6-browser.
try dolphin browser hd, trust me you will love it
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
dolphin is nice but i just prefer to use firefox. granted, anything is better than the default browser.
firefox is nice back lack of flash support turned me to dolphin.
but after getting CM9 i seem to like the stock ICS browser better.
the only browsers i use are opera, most of the time and dolphin if opera fails to load some sites.
i have tested ALL web browsers and so far the best compatibility is dolphin even with desktop only sites but i like simple UI, so I'm still with opera.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
The text reflowing feature of opera or stock browser is not there in Firefox. It has essentially preset zoom levels and text sizes. There no dynamic reflowing or reformatting of text on the fly as you zoom in.
It's the main reason I don't use it. It works with HTML5 sites better than opera, and would love to have it work better.
I tried really hard to get into firefox for my atrix but it just kept turning me off.......firefox for pc is amazing as well as chrome but I find Dolphin Hd the best bang for $0.00......the features are nice and its so simple and all it really is nice.I havent stopped using it since I first got it,I dont think I would use another browser unless firefox gets more features added but I'm sure over time it will
Dolphin HD or opera mobile are far faster and better

even though firefox is a good browser for android it's still a bit slow. does anyone know about a better browser than firefox and dolphin?
Use Aurora from mozilla nightly/beta channel. It is fairly stable. Once you get used to firefox experience you'll never wanna miss it.

i am running the ICS AOKP build and just installed Firefox beta.
first impressions: very impressive!
runs smooth and fast. no problems sofar.
Chrome is a beast when it works but it crashes alot.
Opera was the best browser for my needs on Gingerbread but it does not seem to work on ICS?
Dolphin for me is ok. It works well, but somehow for me it feels a bit off for some reason.
