My carrier in Brazil is Oi. The 3G frequency is 1800MHz.
I've got an Xperia X10i T-Mobile branded.
(1) The X10i works at 1700Mhz, right?
(2) How can I still use the 3G in Brazil?
(3) If I decided to debrand it to a generic firmware, could I also change it from an X10i to an X10a firmware?

1800 is the 2g frequency while 2100 is the 3g one so you will be just fine.. here have a look
Brazil

3G Network 2100, 850
Xperia X10i
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900

No, there's nothing you can do about that.
My question is how can I enable the following working bands: 850 900 1800 and 2100 (HSDPA) in the x10 mini, so I can use the 3G and out of roaming, I'm currently with only 850 900 1800 and 1900 (EDGE), it can be any method that is already helping, firmware, custom roms, baseband, because so far found nothing of that helped me.
My x10 mini's with the generic word version E10a 2.1.1.a.0.6 baseband 015 of SEUS.
I thank any help.

Yes: X10a/i is a world phone when sitting up to do this:
Menu/Sittings/Wireless & Networks/Mobile Networks/Network Mode/Click_GSM/WCDMA (Preferred).
If you want to do it right get the full answer. Some times yes or no is not enough.
i know that and is always there even when you go phone settings *#*#4636#*#* i select WCDMA/GSM auto mode.i just want to make sure.
thank's
Has anyone gotten the SK17a (American version) to work on T-Mobile's 3G network (not 2G)? I am getting on 2G with this phone, and was told by Sony Ericsson support that the only U.S 3G network the phone works with is AT&T.
Does anyone have the SK17a (or SK17i) working on 3G T-Mobile?
Thanks in advance
Sk17a dont work with 3G of T-mobile, for T-mobile you need a sk17i
Sent from my SK17a using XDA App
Jacker6,
I have both SK17i and SK17a; none of them works with 3G T-Mobile. They only work with 2G (EDGE)
Hi,
What T-mobile support told you is correct.
The technical answer is because T-Mobile USA works under 1700 MHz/2100 MHz for UMTS/HSDPA (3G).
You need BOTH bands to work on 3G.
Mini pro sk17a works under:
HSDPA 900 / 2100 Mhz
and sk17i:
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 Mhz
As you can see, both versions lack the 1700 Mhz frequency band.
I'm still with T-Mobile, although I'm planning to change to AT&T next month...
Thanks a lot!
Hi, I have Sony Ericsson wt19i bought in europe. It supports HSDPA 900 / 2100 band. Sony Ericsson has a satelite model wt19a, which supports american HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 - WT19a.
Is this HDSPA band controlled by Kernel/firmware or it is determined purely by hardware. Is it possible to enable HSPA 850/1900 on my wt19i by chaning the kernel or firmware.
I did try flashing a stock firmware for wt19a, but it did not help...
