These guys are reporting success installing this to get Flash 10.1 on Galaxy S devices running Eclair. I didn't have any such luck with our Fascinate, but give it a shot and see what happens for you. Root not needed.

Fine, I'll make a video for proof. It isn't FULL 10.1 support but it has more support than the 3.0 lite.

what does it say when you go to http://www.whatismyflash.com/
if it doesn't say 10.1 then you don't have it. Just because it installed doesn't mean it works.
It's the 9.1 that ships on the phone.

Hey guys, I am the author of the post at robotbriefs.com. Unfortunately, I don't have any other Galaxy S phones to test with beyond the Epic 4G. My source for the article was addictivetips .com. I have not had problems with info I had gotten from them in the past, so I felt safe in reposting the article on flash for the Galaxy S.
In my quick testing, I only verified a few flash games that seemed to work fine, except for the games expecting mouse support. I posted the article, then moved on to the next thing. I definitely should have tested more carefully, but it was early AM and clearly I wasn't running on my full level of caffeine.
For what it's worth, I didn't think to check the version on whatsmyflash.com. Upon checking that this morning, it is, in fact, v9.1.22. I am going to update the article today.
I posted a comment under the article on the site apologizing for getting anyone's hopes up unnecessarily. I offer the same apology here. Bad robot.
We're obviously a new and upcoming Android-focused site. I absolutely appreciate everyone that stopped by because of the link above. Please stop back by when you have a moment. We reference the XDA Forums regularly and the great things that come out of here.

OK it may NOT say 10.1 BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
BUT TRIPLE undERLiNEZ
It adds MORE support than the Fash Lite 3.0 that comes with the phone.
It is halfway between Flash Lite 3.0 and Flash 10.1. The only thing missing are the special functions between 10.1 and FroYo.

As a guess, given how the Froyo rollout went, I'd guess that we're in for several months of waiting for this officially.

Lol, CM7 is a joke on the Vibrant. CyanogenMod is always a step ahead of the drivers available for Samsung devices, so it will *never* work properly on a Samsung. By the time they have what they need to make it work, they're already pushing out a new "no wifi no gps no nothing useful" version. Nothing against CyanogenMod, but... Try CM7 (or any version) is never much of an answer on the Vibrant and recommending it to anyone is pointless.
That said...
Every time anyone posts a thread asking when, T-Mobile kills a kitten, Baby Jesus cries, and another week will go by before the update.

From the thread on CM7 for the Vibrant:
Known bugs:
You can't get into recovery/download without the 3 buttons combo. (You can't from inside the ROM, so do NOT flash if you can't use the 3 button combo.)
Problems switching between 2G and 3G when data is connected. (You may get un-reliable data.)
Compass. (works not at 100%)
Video playback may be choppy with some formats.
GPS is broken.
May have many other bugs that are unlisted.
Polling problem on RIL (Works after you lock and unlock your phone.)
USB Tethering is currently broken
Battery life has significantly improved with latest unofficial nightly (3/31) and the latest Additional kernel. See below. However, it is still not as good as stock.

hi all I was just curious if anyone knows if the new Netflix app is working on the Thunderbolt or not. I assume it would but the thunderbolt is not listed on the netflix web site as a supported phone for this app, even though 3 other HTC phones are listed and are older tech than the Thunderbolt. I tried to install it but they want me to start an account with them first and I'm not opening a Netflix account unless I know for sure this will work on My thunderbolt. The Netflix app will not work with any ROMs based off the official Thunderbolt RUUs as of now.
I was so mad when my boyfriend's Incredible would stream Netflix, and my newer Thunderbolt WON'T. He doesn't even use his phone. He fixed it so he can use wireless tethering..and uses his ipod touch! That's what made me so pissed off about it. I actually want to be able to watch Netflix on mine! Maybe one day soon =(

Don't think so, so far its only working if your running CM7 I believe.
Has anyone on here used CM7? I loaded it one day and nothing really worked on it. I couldn't get on the internet or anything... sounds like to a waste to run CM7 just to use netflix
Netflix does work on cm7 and will be supported on the thunderbolt soon. The reason why it wasn't initially is because the phone is new and Netflix didn't have time to test it on our devices. Just give it some time and you all will be rewarded.

Audio and wifi works fine for me in CM9. Can't comment on Netflix since I don't use it.
Anyway, just go ahead and take the plunge. Every TouchPad owner should just install CM9. You have absolutely nothing to lose (except perhaps your warranty, but who cares about that?) and everything to gain.
Netflix youtube and flash have been fixed up nicely, im on 9.0.0 RC0 touchpad-alpha2 , earlierversions had some issues with netflix n such. As well, i've never had a problem with wifi on any rom ive ever tried.

I've personally found the official threads to be the best guide, but I suppose YMMV.
As for the question in the OP, I'm currently running eyeballer's unofficial nightly from the 18th, and it's held up quite well against everything I've thrown at it thus far.
Obviously, the camera and microphone don't work, but that's expected. I've had no issues with WiFi connectivity, although I have had one random reboot.
I'm running with a modest overclock to 1.7 as well.
Don't think. Just do it like all of us here. Its not a wrong move if all of us done that

My i777 is coming in the mail tomorrow. I'm very excited, its my first Android. I've been researching custom firmware and stuff like that for about a month around the web. I just have no idea where to start. I believe my phone still has some form of 2.3 on it, but it could be the current 4.0.4 ICS.
From what I understand, I update the drivers on my computer with Kies, download Odin to root the device and then what? Or superoneclick? I'm interested in CM10 but I know the bugs are still being worked out. I need my camera, MMS, bluetooth, 3g data, at&t radios, mhl, Touchwiz toggles, all the functionality with no soft keys at the bottom. JB would be great if its possible. Other wise I might as well just update the phone to stock ICS and root it for other stuff I want like sixaxis and over/underclocking apps.
There is a reason we have stickies

There's things like KK 2.3.6, is that custom GB firmware? I know there is lots of information but no where to start.
pretty sure it would make more sense once you actually have the device in hand....seems pointless to create a new thread asking how to get started when you dont even have the device yet.
use it for at least a day or 2 before you start messing with custom ANYTHING
hell, dont even root it right away. just use it as is to get a feel for it, and verify there is nothing wrong with the hardware....if you just jump in and flash custom firmware, how will you ever know if an issue was hardware or firmware related?
Interesting, good point Pirateghost. I was wanting to put custom stuff on there while I had access to a computer this weekend. Might as well wait though. I'll have a laptop to mess with everything at my own pace by Black Friday anyway.
If it is still running GB, should I upgrade it to ICS, or would that hinder the root process when I want to do that?

The second part of your reply is absolutely spot on.
The first part i dont agree with a 100%.
I too plan to purchase the i777 model in the not too distant future, and its always a good thing to start reading early. Just like getting a feel of the stock rom/hardware is essential.. its always a good thing to read up well in advance. By the time a person is analyzing the h/w.. he is in a position to relate with other user's experiences.
I too was reading up all the stickies and really did got stuck up with the KK6 2.3.6 thing mentioned right at the start and no clue/legend being mentioned as to what it was. I googled a lot and many results had the same thing.. simply started using the terms w.o any hints.
It does gets confusing tbh you know
The thing is, I understand and know the stock hardware and firmware very well already. I have been using my girlfriend's GS2 from Sprint, the "Epic 4g Touch" since she got it in May. I've used it with GB and then ICS in August (I had to tell her to stop ignoring the notification, the update was a good thing!), but it will be good to evaluate the item to fully determine that everything is good with it.
It seems like in your first post, you steered yourself away from CM10, but everything you listed works except mhl I believe. And if you really want that, you will be able to dualboot into shostock once Siyah kernel gets updated.

I'm wondering what's the word on Flash for the s4? I've read quite a few threads filled with insight about any given 3rd party app will work, but none of them are working; for me anyway. I've tried, BOAT Browswer, Dolphin, Skyfire, Stock, and Firefox for Android, and although BOAT Browser showed hope, none of them worked flawlessly.
From what I understand, the s4 wasn't made to handle flash in any aspect which is why installing the apk doesn't fix the situation for stock browsers like it has in the past, especially for my s3.
I'm wondering has anyone come up wtih a fix for this? Or will there even be a fix for this? I may consider returning this and getting the HTC One if there isn't at least a plausible fix on the horizon.

The .apk is readily available through Adobe's website, that's not the issue. My guess is that the s4 doesn't really know how to handle the Flash since it was built in expectation to not have to deal with flash in the first place. Which means someone would have to come along with a Rom with Flash abilities cooked in already. I'm not sure, but I imagine that won't be too difficult to do.
Oh, and apparently none of my more favorite...let's say 'extracurricular' websites are using HTML5 which renders them useless on my s4 so far.

First of all, sincere apologies for posting this in the wrong section.
I've read that people have successfully been able to pull the s3 browser apk and port it over to the s4 mildly successfully. I actually have an s3 but I'm not confident enough in my android/linux skills to be a pioneer in this. Maybe I will put some time into it and see since I have a day off today.
So I used Root Explorer to get the Browser apk from my s3 and tried to install it to my s4...needless to say it didn't work. I even tried to put the s3 browser in the system files by replacing the s4's default browser. Nothing...maybe I did it wrong?
---Sorry for the double post...I could've swore I saw somebody else as the last poster. Sorry!
Use the opera it may work
