Can anyone tell me what this does before I try it? Will it factory default my phone? I'm trying to sort a problem where entries added to Google Calender on web update to phone, bt entries added to Google Calendar on phone don't update to web. I don't want a factory default as I'll lose entries added on the phone.

Yup it'll write a clean install of the firmware to the phone and you'll be back to factory defaults. Check out the backup and restore tool on the phone, that'll save your contacts, calender etc.
Cheers for the info mate. Doesn't seem like it includes calendar from the info in the app itself strangely :-| Might try find another solution to back it up (maybe try re-install SE Sync that I removed when I rooted along with the other SE pre-installed rubbish!) Ta!

Ahh thought it did calender too, I know I got mine back... maybe from google sync then.
Yeah, and Google Sync is whats broken ;-) No worris, I'll find something to back it up!

Just updated to the latest frimware.
Few apps im not sure bout, can/can't they be removed!
Im seeing the following running, under task manager;
-diagnostic Tool
-R2R Client
-Status Switch
-SEMCCheckin
-Contact Deatils
Can any of these be removed? If so what APK names do they go under in Titanium?

R2R Client is for the APN to receive at beginning to get Internet Access. When you delete Contact Details you cant see Details of your Contacts anymore so dont do it!! Status Switch is a Widget can be deleted. Diagnostic Tool and SEMCCheckin are 2 Diagnostic Tools but dont know what happen if you delete it.

SE Sync you can delete if you dont Sync with SE. Dont delete Softwareupdate go to Prefences and then Phone Info then Softwareupdate and then uncheck Automatic Search then it shouldnt be as Service in Background. But if you delete it you cant do OTA Updates anymore.

Have backed it up, and deleted it.
OTA Updates are pointless, Well, i haven't used them yet anyway!
Anyway we can get rid of the com. blah blah etc that appeasr when we've uninstalled stuff!?

Hi, sometimes doing updates via OTA can keep your phone rooted unlike the SEUS update...
For Sony Ericsson Sync why they keep it in the last update, since december 30 2011 the service don't work anymore ?

i just recetly replaced my Yarvik 260 tab due to a screen bleed had to get a replacment from the shop
i ended up with the Intenso 7" tablet i must say i do like it feels good it is responsive and fast

However the thing dose not have google play on it. this is rather a large prob for me as i need play to
use the apps i have payed for not many but i do use them an awfull lot....
this week i have sat on google trying to find a solution the closest i have found was the GPlay apk file
that was linked in a post i think on these forums.
play loads however it wont let me register my gmail account to play so it will not log in at all
is there any one with an idear on this issue at all......
Failing that any one know of a custom rom i can install on this tablet preff icecream as i have grown
to like that incarnation of android...

nope i have not rooted it would not even know where to begin on this tab. Yes i have Gmail account regged on it.
when the factory reset is done the Google play is wiped from thetab and i am back to square one agen.....

since u are running 2.3 u try to install android market apk and don't install playstore apk ........may be that might causing problem as playstore is latest one

did a factory reset an tryed what you sujested still the same result no go it loads an asks for an gmail aco**** i put it in the divce an get nuttin it is like ths store carnt link to the accounts i add to my divice :S
return back where u purchased and ask them to replace it ........first time I'm hearing this kind of problem .......if u can root I can suggest u some more methods .........if u don't want to take risk just go and replace it .....or else just use different Google account that might work ........format ur tabs SD card and factory reset and later login using different account

First, thanks for the great rom...i keep staring my atrix, i'm love with it again hehe
And yes, i tried, but i can only access the images and songs that i had sync. I don't really want to use blur account, i will only activate it, export my contacts, delete the blur account (I saw a thread here teaching to delete the blur account from the phone, i 'll give it a shot) and delete the blur apps again...will this be a problem?
These are my suggestions in the order of most to least desirable (in my opinion):
Before performing any option create a backup.
1) Restore a GB backup and get your contacts that way. If I remember correctly, the contacts can be exported as a .csv file.
2) If you don't have a GB backup, Install a GB fruit cake and do the above.
3) Using ICSROM. This might not even work. I have not even tried to create a Blur account with any of the the new Roms.
a) Reinstall BlurContactsSync.apk and BlurUpdater.apk (see link on ICSROM OP).
b) Use a root level file explorer to edit /system/etc/motorola/com.motorola.blur.service.blur/defaults.xml. Change "master-sdc1.svcmot.com" to "master-blur.svcmot.com". Save edits then exit.
c) Wipe data in recovery, reboot
d) Create Blur account and get your contacts
e) Restore backup.
It might not work because you may need to add an additional apk that I can't think of right now, or beucase it just won't work. You might hve to play with it a little.
I tried to activate the account in this ICSROM, and guess what? you were right! It's not possible: I tried the whole afternoon, instaling a bunch of apks that had moto-something is theirs name. So i installed a GB i had here, got my contacts and exported them as csv.

i recently installed a custom rom on my dad's phone.. i took titanium backup as well as google synchronisation of the calander app... but titanium backup can't restore the calander entry and google synch. doesnt give back all the entries... please suggest a way to restore the calander entries...

First check if the calendar entries are there - PC > gmail account.
If there aren't any entries, it's a bit strange and it seems like sync wasn't active before.
If it's there, delete the gmail account from phone an add it again.
Because the restore from Titanium there can be two reasons for not working:
- the calendar app version change with firmware (maybe from ics to jb or gb to ics?!)
- there wasn't a entry set, which can be the reason for no entry from gmail sync

can't see the all the calander entries in pc gmail account also... i've installed a jb rom and i was using gb earlier... when i revert back to gb i get all the entries back using titanium backup... is there a way to get those entries in my jb rom too ??? i've tried google synch. 3 times but it isnt able to reastore entries in my jb rom...

So this what I said with compatibility...
So u must restore ur calendar settings on GB.
Then for sure u can't directly sync them because it's local.
So u must try to bring them in the google calendar....
I've to say that I didn't do it til know so can't say how, but maybe there is an option like "import/export to calendar" or kind of it.
After this synch again...

Try MyPhoneExplorer.
Some of the events are on device calendar, so they don't appear in GCalendar.
AFAIK, MPE can backup/restore all calendars present on device.

Long time reader, first time poster (hopefully in the right section). I am an absolute novice so please bear with me. I rooted my Razr M (XT905) to remove a bunch of the pre installed apps.
All worked fine and phone runs great. But I cant import my contacts from my google account. Gmail and app store syncing works fine, just contacts are missing.
When I access the options menu in the contact section, google isn't showing. When I look at the accounts in the settings menu, the google account is there and has the option checked to sync 'people details' (guessing this is the same as contacts).
So I'm guessing I've deleted something when removing the apps.
Any ideas as to what I might have done and how I can fix this?
Appreciate any help.

You should have a contacts sync option in Google acount. Maybe you deleted GoogleContacstSyncAdapter.apk or ContactsProvider.apk from /system/app folder

Which android version are you using? I'm attaching 4.4 version apks for you, but I'm not sure if it will work with previous Android versions. Put the apks in system/app folder (ContactsProvider should go to system/priv-app if you're on Android 4.4), change permissions to 644 (see attached image) and reboot.
If those don't work, try searching for apks from the same Android version as yours. You can find it in xda.
Please reply if it worked or not cause another user can try and help you too, but i hope it helps bro.

Thanks for the replies. Using 4.1.2.
When I've tried to copy the GoogleContactsSyncAdapter file using ES File Explorer, I get the message in the attached screenshot. How do I get around this?
Gotta mount the system as Read/Write(should be something similar to this: On the left hand panel "Tools->Root Explorer->Mount R/W" then pick your preferred options.) , and make sure to change the permissions once you move them there (here's a short little video guide - older ES, but same idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hhXuQ0_B28).
I also hope you aren't trying to use the ones posted here for this as it surely won't work properly.
Did you make sure to see if you were actually missing those apps?

All good now. Flashed the pacman 4.4 update with the correct apps and all working.
Only problem now is wifi wont turn on. When I toggle it on, it stays grey and no networks are detected.
Any suggestions for this issue?
