Howdy folks,
Happy Friday to you.
I am using a Vibrant (TMO) and when I try to send a text message on my corp. wi fi, (first of all it takes over 30 seconds to get away from the Sending message) on occasion I get a: "failed" error and have to resend, but then i get the error message that "service is not available, try resending when it is" or something to that effect.
It seems to be related to wifi connectivity, when I look back at the "chat bubble" (blue for me) it then appears to have a time stamp like it was sent, and confirmed by the recipient that it eventually does.
Curious if anyone has seen this inconsistent behavior. On wifi those messages should fly, but getting time outs on occasion. Also, WiFi indicator someitmes also shows Edge/3G signal icon simulaneously which I don't believe should happen.
Thanks gang!

Sometimes when I get a message, I'll get anywhere from 2-8 copies of that same message. It's not good because I think it counts as 8 separate copies of the text - not just one text that I get a few times.
Anyone have ANY idea what this could be? I'm on Alltel, if that helps.
When this has happened in the past to me (I am on Sprint), it was because I was in a poor signal area when receiving the message. I also had the reverse happen when I would try to send text in a poor signal area...it would send my text multiple times.

Hmm.. I guess that could be possible. I just have a hard time with it because I normally have 5 bars. Maybe it's on their end..?
Any other thoughts?
When I receive text messages from my contacts, their "sent time" is always behind by 5 hours. The messages were not delivered 5 hours late. It's just the time on the message is displayed wrong. The message I replied to them displays the correct time.
My brother's vibrant seems to have the same problem. It's not a big deal, but it's quite tedious to read messages when they are not lined up in the right order.
When I odin'ed back to stock ROM, this error disappears. However, when I flash Axura, Obsidian, the new Nero ROMs, they all produce the same messaging time error.
Is there anyone else experiencing the same problem? Could someone help me out here?

I fixed the problem by downloading "SMS time fix" app from the market.
Apparently this error only happens to certain Rogers users in Canada.
Problem with Messages related pop-up "Currently unable to send your message"
I have a problem with the SMS sending software.
It'll VERY often keep a message at the screen when it fails to send a message because of lack of carrier coverage and it'll be there popping on the screen for some time indefinitely (starts fading out then fades in again... loop). The problem is it overlaps the other apps I switch to after hitting Send.
This has aways happened and I didn't manage to find the fix yet (already factory reseted since I got this phone). Is there any setting? I'm sending the screen attached.
What bugs me more is that there's a setting on the Messages app which seems related to it, and it's already disabled. In fact I don't know the purpose if this setting because any value I choose I can see nothing different. (It's in the Notifications part. It's called "Display message on screen", the options are "Sent success only", "Sent failure only", "Sent success and failure" and "None".)
I already tried solving this with HTC support but didn't have much luck. If you know what this setting is and about the issue with the ever popping pop-up "Currently unable to send your message. It will be sent when the service becomes available." any explanation would be highly appreciated!!
PS. Even found this topic but with no solution (with the exception the message actually stops by itself after a little time).
I'd expect the message to show once to let me know what's happening and that when signal is restored it'll attempt to send it again, and not the phone to keep repeating it to death.
I send a text then 30 seconds later receive a text. The received text displays as if it was received prior to when mine was sent.
I have my phone set to network time. I believe this is happening because the network time between the carriers must be different. The text comes in with a timestamp 30 seconds prior to the local phone time when the phone gets the text.
I guess I will try manually synchronizing the clock and disabling network time.
Has anyone experienced this?
Is it just me or does this happen to everyone? It happens every time not randomly.
I get a hangouts (or text though hangouts) and I reply by voice with watch. If someone sends me a message again before my message says sent (or even right after with in a couple seconds) then my message never goes through unless I go check the dialog chat even though I get the green check box saying sent...
Very annoying! !

This is happening to me sometime but still haven't got to replicate and troubleshoot this issue
I am having the exact issue as well. It doesn't seem to be limited to just getting another hangouts message, but another notification period.
Getting a notification around the same time seems to almost always cancel my outbound message and it doesn't show up anywhere even though the watch says Sent. I have no idea how to fix this, is there any direct way to report these problems to the development team?
