HD2 with Android - Video Issue! - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I don't seem to get the video playback to work on Android on my HD2. I tried many video player from the market. What I have gotten is just an error playback message. The weird thing is I can playback the Transformer that was came with the HD2. So in conclusion, I think there is a problem with my converted video. Is anybody know which converter along with the setting to make the video work on Android video player?

[Q] flyer video and internet

Hi,
Really enjoying my flyer but having 2 problems and wondering if it's just me?
It plays videos but every time I pause or fast forward or in any way try to change position of the movie, it.freezes on a single image and the soundtrack continues to run. It does this whatever video programme I use.
The other thing is that when I type in internet programmes, swype typing doesn't work.
If anyone can help with this, it would be greatly appreciated,
Andii
Is that a 1080p video? And what resolution is it? The flyer's codecs may be getting overwhelmed. Try downconverting the video to a lesser size.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. It behaves the same with any size/resolution of video - although video playback online eg: via youtube works fine. I'm in the UK, as yet I haven't received the firmware update.
I haven't had that problem yet, but I can see it being an issue on any tablet or smart phone for some videos

[Q] Video playback issues

Maybe its just me, but I've been having some odd issues with video playback on my new Tablet S.
Basically, anything that the Tablet natively supports works just fine. But anything that requires using a Software Decoder (like MX Video Player, or QQPlayer etc) goes weird. The audio and the video will become unsynced as the video playback framerate is much lower than the original file while the sound plays at the normal speed, sending it far ahead of the displayed video.
Does anyone have any suggestions on better ways to play non-supported video files?
Dice player has worked for me without any problems. I've heard of problems with sync on MX but who knows, give Dice a try and see if it helps...
MOBOPLAYER.
sent via awesome aRc (rooted 2.3.4)
I'm using BS Player lite, had no problems with avi or mkv.

[Q] Best media player utilizing HW accel?

I am looking for something than can play wmv/ogm/mkv/xvid/mp4/etc supporting multiple audio streams and multiple subtitle tracks
Any suggestions? I would prefer something that is accelerated so the phone's specs will help video run well as the resolution and file-sizes of the video files are quite large
Dice player....

Thanks
Works well, but my MP4 video 5.1 sound files have a horrible crackling noise when it gets to loud parts. Decreasing volume doesn't help.
Ack double post! Just wanted to update on my progress:
Mobo player - won't open video for some reason, says it "can't open /mnt/sdcard/extsd........" error. Doesn't seem to be codec/decoder related as it does it regardless
MX Player - Works only in software mode, regardless of which decoder I use the video switched to "SW (FAST)" mode and shows HW as unavailable
Dice Player - Like I said above works GREAAAT except for popping/crackling audio. Software decoding works with audio but makes the video horrible and slow and laggy.
[EDIT]
RockPlayer Lite - Will not play the video file
VPlayer - Crackling audio, slow video playback even with codec/decoder
[EDIT 2]
Dolphin Player - Will not play the video file
[EDIT 3]
QQ Player - Will not play the video file
Shameful triple-post thread BUMP
Desperate for a video player with HW acceleration that decodes 5.1 AAC without terrible crackling noise.
Other alternative is to re-encode all videos but that is waaaay too much work, and is only a last resort.
Must be something in the encode it doesn't like. Stock player should play mp4 just fine, dunno how it handles 5.1.

[Q] Video Playback Issues

When ever I play a video on my phone at specific points videos artifact. It will always be the same point but not the same point in a video but different points for different videos. I have looked all over and have not found anyone with this issue for the EVO LTE. I am wondering what this could be. I have tried all that I could think of. I changed roms, video formats, video players. The videos work fine on my other devices and my PC.
Attached is a part of a video that artifacts. Any help would be appreciated
A list of what file types and players you are using on your device would be helpful...
.mv4 and .mp4
And every player I have tried does this.
Do these videos work on someone else's EVO LTE?
Do they work on another Android device (perhaps the OG EVO)?
Do you have a spare SD card you can copy the videos to, one that you have performed a fresh format on?
I recently got vlc for my phone and it plays the videos back just fine. VLC to the rescue yer again.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
use MX Player. its the best video player for the LTE that i have found so far, its made for phones with dual cores or more. used to use Vplayer but it didnt work well on this phone
I will try that out, VLC player is able to play this one video without problems but it will not play any 720p full length episodes. The video that works fine is short and it not 720p.
EDIT:
So apparently MX Player crashes at the exact same point that VLC does in the video, also MX player does not seem to run the video as smooth.
Using hardware decoding makes the video not run as smooth and crashes at that point. Software decoding is smoother and just artifacts at the point instead of crashing.
I found the issue. I had a bad USB hub. The videos play fine now.

Problem with video playback

Hi,
I am running my SII on 4.0.1 and I am very frustrated with its performance on video recording and playback (the problem existed on the 2.3 OS version too).
Bascally if I try to watch a clip on YouTube (does not matter if I am on wifi on 3G) the movie will start showing nicely but very quickly the sound will continue to run smoothly but the image will freeze and then will jump back to sync with the audio and then freeze again etc. - so you can't see a nice smooth playback. It does not matter if the video is fuly downloaded.
If I record a movie using the camera - I will get a choppy video with freezes. This is really frustrating and I wonder if other have experience the same problem and more importantly if there is a solution for this annoyng problem.
Thanks in advance,
Itay
