This mod was originally created for the HTC Desire, but thanks to a lot of people's hard work and collaboration, we now have a clockwork-compatible version for our Vibrant. Besides modifying the original battery images, this mod required major modification to several XML files, which now allows us to specify a specific image for EACH percentage. In essence, instead of having 5 battery icons (0%, 20%, 40%, etc), we now have over 100, including the charging and charged images. The end result: our battery meter is now extremely accurate, down to the exact percentage, and you can modify the battery images to suit your own visual tastes. Feel free to use and modify the below zip files as you please, but please give credit where it is due.
Metamorphs posted do not include the necessary XMLs to be used on a build that doesn't already have the battery mod. Do NOT use them if you have a "stock" battery without percentages.
WARNING: ALWAYS make a nandroid backup prior to installing any modification, including this one. You are making the decision to install this on your own, and I am not responsible for anything nuclear that may happen to your device.
Install Instructions (for flashable versions):
Copy your preferred version of the battery mod to the root of your Internal SD (Clockwork cannot see the External SD).
Reboot into Clockwork Recovery
Flash your chosen update.zip
Reboot and Enjoy!
Install Instructions (for MetaMorph versions):
Download MetaMorph or MetaMorph Pro from the Market
Use it to apply the Morph
Boot into Recovery and clear Dalvik-Cache
Enjoy!

I just get an error something about the control file could be missing or invalid...
Here is the working one I put together just for Vibrant!! Thanks to Fightspit for his original files, also thanks to the OP zimphishmonger for getting me interested in this.. No errors on my end! Enjoy! My phone is completely stock except for root if that helps anyone.
BTW after you clear the cache the phone may take longer to reboot.
To Install:
Boot into clockwork recovery and clear the cache, then flash file from sd. After that clear the cache once again, then reboot.
Also I have included an undo which installs the same way.
Files are now in the OP
As always make a nandroid backup before doing this and I am not responsible for damage to your phone.
^ flashing soon, looks amazing!
Here is another one (little different) Files are now in the OP
I flashed this but got stuck at galaxy screen on reboot and yes I've done everything correctly. Any suggestions? I had to do a nandroid restore to get back up and running.
Huge thanks to the3dman13 for getting this working! Give this man some props.
Mind letting me know what you did to get it working. I tried decompiling the apk, add the files (also decompiled), then recompile and sign the apk.
Im gonna try and put together a metamorph of this

We need a logcat to see whats going on. lot of issues Ive run into attempting to get this mod working, and they all behave that way.....bootloop at Vibrant screen
I feel like an idiot, but I'm guessing "clear the cache" is the dalvik? I know now that it's not the cache partition. Nandroid to the rescue!
This is awsome! No more battery widget!
Doing a Nandroid now and will display the results if I get it to install correctly.

I did the same (decompiled) and added the files then recompiled. It is a system app so it does not need to be signed I just took the stock framework-res.apk and renamed it to .zip and opened it (not extract it just open it with something like 7zip or in my case linux archive manager) then deleted the res folder then dragged the new compiled res folder into the zip and renamed it back to .apk. then made the update.zip file.
I tried this twice now and can't get it to work. The morph wasn't working at all but even with the zip file I went to clockwork, wiped the cache, flashed the zip, and wiped cache again and when I reboot I still have my regular bar. Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong? I really want this lol

^ It worked flawlessly, til I added back on my metamorph evo black notification bar.. I read a Captivate thread that indicated you could have both at the same time.
I don't want to have to choose between these two amazing things... Useful battery vs black notification bar.
Any thoughts? Thank you!!

Try installing the original way then install the same thing again over it then clear the cache and reboot. What rom / hacks do you have installed?
What do you mean by the original way and then over it?
I have the original lagfix from modaco forum and stock rom with stock notification bar

Sorry poor the poor explanation. Basically flash it twice in a row with no reboot.
No luck here either. Cleared cache, flashed, cleared again, reboot. I get the Vibrant screen, the pulsing Galaxy S screen, then black.....if I touch my capacitive buttons they light up though.

Your welcome. Anytime. Would you mind updating the OP with the instructions from my first post and the warning. Some people wont read if its not in the op lol
Thanks to untermensh, as this is a port of his original mod for the Vibrant
This will add reboot, reboot into recovery, and reboot into download in the power menu.
As always, make a backup before flashing. You must be using a deodexed ROM for this to work. Also, this replaces framework-res.apk, so this will overwrite any themes you may have installed.
Update: The second attachment includes both the reboot and version A (circle) accurate battery mods. The third attachment has the reboot and version Z (sense style) accurate battery mods.
Love this MOD, but it replaces the puzzle unlock screen. Anyway to have both?
Create a new file in /data/local/ called "enable_glass_lock" using like Root Explorer.
Or the following adb command should do the same thing "adb touch /data/local/enable_glass_lock"
With that you don't even need to reboot, the puzzle lock will immediately be available and if ever you want to switch back to stock lock just remove the file.
Awesome. That worked. thanks!
Anyway?
Anyway to have this and keep the blackmod notification bar?
just reapply the theme after you flash this should do the trick

Actually this does not work and what it does is when you hold the power button the power menu doesnt even apear and the phone goes into a boot loop where the phone continually goes back to the boot animation. So if you want this cool power menu DO NOT FLASH A THEME AFTER OR ELSE YOU WILL HAVE TO DO A RESTORE.
.....
Worked perfectly for me....... installed the attached zip and like stated itit unthemed me. Then I just reflashed my theme.
works great, ive been missing this since i ditched my incredible...thanks a million
yea I found this out but only did that when I flashed the circle battery mod. I used the MM black mod with this and had no problems

Which theme did you install? Blackmod will install fine because it a metamorph, and it only patches your current framework-res.apk with different images. If it was a theme that is flashed through CWM, it will replace the entire framework-res.apk and cause issues.
The best bet for any theme is to ask its author to include the mod in their theme.

OHHHH thats why cause i was using the Remix Incognito/Minimal Matte theme which needs to be flashed throught clockwork so i guess thats why i was having issues thanx. Guess ill just use blackmod.
I tried it out for him last night, and it worked great. I flashed several kernels testing the 1600 kernel, and it was pretty handy. Then I flashed the extended backlight zip, and then it rebooted when I try to shut down. So, I re flashed the reboot.zip, and it works again. Re flashed the round battery zip, and it broke again. Flashed reboot.zip. Got the reboot menu back, but lost my round battery display.
I am pretty sure I still had round battery after I used it last night. It appears the extended backlight mod made it mad.
Edit: not a working idea -.-
CrushD said:
For those who want to use different themes with the mod, what works is you can extract the framework-res.apk that comes from OP. Go into \res\drawable-hdpi\ and once in that folder, sort files by "date modified". You'll notice only three images modified on 10/20/1020. Simply copy those files over and put them in the \res\drawable-hdpi\ of your desired theme's framework-res.apk then reflash it.
The new files are download.png, recovery.png, and reboot.png so if you want to have your own images in the theme you're using, simply make the required .pngs and put them in the theme's \res\drawable-hdpi\ folder.

This won't work. There are several xml files that are edited too, which are services.jar, android.policy.jar, and some in resources.asrc. You could try to copy all of these into the theme. However, if the theme contains its own xml edits, doing so could overwrite them and lead to additional problems.

Ahh at first I thought those images were the only difference from the stock framework and all the edits were in the .jars. I forgot about resources.asrc, I was bummed out that I lost the accurate battery indicator and tried to hybridize my own theme, thought it was working, but as you state some problems arise so I second you that it won't work, looks it won't be that easy.

If i were to cook up the animations into a zip with UOT, would i be able to flash it over MIUI?
Its just the animations and nothing else in the zip cook.
The best way to find out is to nandroid and then flash. If it borks it, restore

Yea, boot animations should be interchangable as the default Android setup looks for them in three locations in this order:
1) /data/media, 2) /system/media and 3) inside framework-res.apk
I think I said those directories correctly, it is all coming from memory and I'm still on the stock boot animation!

Always a great suggestion. In my opinion, once you know the exact file you're changing, you don't even need to do a nandroid. Simply backup the existing bootanimation.zip inside one of those two directories listed above and then replace with your new one.
If it doesn't work, restore the previous one! Should save a bit more time than doing a full nandroid backup and restore.
Also, if you place a bootanimation on the /data partition and there is already one on the /system partition, it will load the data partition one first and ignore the system and framework-res.apk copies.
Hope that helps!
It helps a lot thanks! But too bad I was wondering about window animations haha =p

Included are five ODEXED versions of 1% battery mod. In all versions there are horizontal scrollable quick panel toggles.
There is also services.odex if you want to apply your custom theme.
qpbcircle.zip - Quick panel & battery mod circle from UOT kitchen.
qpbics.zip - Quick panel & battery mod ICS style.
qpbigb.zip - Quick panel & big icon battery mod.
services.zip - services.odex file to get 1% battery if you don't want my battery themes and quick panel mod. It's not a flashable zip. You can adb push it to /system/framework. After that go to UOT kitchen and choose your preffered theme.
wocqpbics.zip - Without carrier in status bar, quick panel & battery mod ICS style.
lcwocqpbcircle.zip - Without carrier in status bar and lock screen, quick panel & battery mod circle from UOT kitchen.
Download & Install:
I strongly suggest to use whirleye's BootMenu app.
Boot into recovery with BootMenu.
First flash UOT-10-14-14-38-2.zip
Reboot to ICS.
After full boot up, reboot again to recovery
Flash mod on your choice and reboot.
Enjoy
NOTES:
GSM only!
These mods are working on stock odexed 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU.
You can test on other GSM ICS odexed builds on your own risk.
I strongly suggest before flashing to make nandroid backup at least on /system.
Or you can adb pull:
from /system/app:
SystemUI.apk
SystemUI.odex
from /system/framework:
framework-res.apk
services.odex
And push them back if something goes wrong.
Credits & Thanks:
Major credit goes to alteredlikeness - without his expert advices these mods won't be possible.
Thanks to nitroglycerine33 for the scrollable toggles.

Dropdown toggles are in SystemUI apk and odex. You can try to flash only these two files.
But it will also change your battery icons. You can repace them in SystemUI.apk.
Open it with WinRar and replace 204 jpg images in \res\drawable-hdpi with these you want.

OP is updated with w/o carrier mods.
Any advice to make this working on 676.226.3.XT910.Retail.en.EU?
With any combination i get stack forever on moto logo when booting....
I installed wocqpbics.zip on a rooted Stock 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU and now the statusbar is gone. The 1% hack is working.
Is there a way to get the statusbar back without doing a complete reinstall of the System? I don't have a backup.
Thank you very much for your help!
edit:
After installing the original fastboot files on top of my running system (and removing the bloat) everything is fine again. Phew! It would have been really nice to finally have a propper 1% hack and getting rid of the (way to long) carrier name but it was not worth the hassle. :/

Apparently before I have installed uot mod first and then I've made all the changes to system files.
So you have flash a uot made theme first (I've uploaded mine to OP), reboot and then apply my mod.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

are you talking about this one?
because it says "Attached cwm patch works on Deodexed LI2 Roms only."
My rom is stock and DLJ2... So i dont think it will work
Assuming your phone is rooted:
-download any custom rom based on DLJ2 and including this mod
-extract secphone.apk from the zip of the rom
-put the apk on your sdcard
-with root explorer (or similar app) delete /system/app/secphone.odex
-put the modded apk in /system/app (say yes to replace the old one)
-restart in recovery
-wipe cache and dalvik
-restart your phone
Done!
You now have your mod on your stock odex rom!
what does wipe chace and dalvik do?
it wont remove any of my stuff?
also since i see we have the same rom and kernel , i also have s3 with stock dlj2 and siyah - how does your battery respond?
because my battery life is bad... 10% loss in short time and not much of use...

Wiping cache and dalvik will not remove your stuff. It just wipe files from android caching (will be generate on reboot)
I am now on DLJ4 but it seems that JB has some issue with battery life compared to ICS
is there any way to fix battery problems? or should i go back to ICS?
