Welcome to the Android world...
You being a former Wmobile user means that you will still have all the fears that came with that platform... , what you are asking for is Not needed on this platform, no need to worry about running out of memory , as the OS constantly reclaims unused memory * when needed *...
So just as you left W mobile behind, so should you do with all the fears, and thinking of that platform, as they don't apply here....
The following link will give you some much needed info on how Android manages memory , it is not ment to have you install the app, that's up to you, but it is the simplest form I can find so far that explains memory management...

Your other question...
AFAIK .. once you turn on bluetooth all sound is streamed to your * stereo headsets* , if you are using a headset, then make sure it supports a2dp , as there are only a few that do this...
hope this helps

Was talking with Pioneer regarding their AVIC series as well as others but mainly about using an Android phone to control Pandora just like they allow the iPhone too. This is what they asked me:
Do the Android phones support the remote control protocol that is required to control the phone from an external unit? That remote protocol is why the AVIC-X920BT works with the iPhone through PandoraLink.

Im trying to get Pioneer to come out with an Android app to control the phone(or at least Pandora) from the headunit
Not sure if the Galaxy S/Vibrant comes is compatible or if another Android platform is? I can play and pause Pandora from my X920BT head unit through Bluetooth but would rather control everything from the headunit like most people can that have an Iphone and a Pioneer Head Unit with Pandora Link.
It sounds like you're thinking of AVRCP, which is a standard BT profile. There are different versions of it that reveal different capabilities.
1.0 covers basic play/pause/stop. 1.3 adds the ability to see what the current status is (playing, paused or stopped), as well as metadata (such as artist, album and track information). 1.4 adds even more features, such as the ability to control multiple devices, browse through the devices' metadata including a "now playing" playlist, and even basic search abilities.
However, what you are talking about seems to be the reverse of what most people want with their handsets and BT. I'm not certain if AVRCP support is inherently bidirectional. However, now that there is a name to what you are looking for, perhaps someone can steer you in the right direction.
(And, BTW, this really ought to be moved to Vibrant Q&A, since this really has nothing to do with development.)
Thanks, can a mod move this thread for me? Greatly appreciated
I am with you on this.....

I also have a X920BT and would certainly LOVE to see the Android interface working. Shout if you do need help. But it seems like you made more progress than me. I contacted them about three months ago and it does not seem like they were very interested in talking with me. You are one step ahead.
Maybe if we can get more Andoid/X920BT users to pole them for attention, they may do something about it....
Good work!
Heres the email I got from Pioneer:
Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc.
Unfortunately as of right now we have not received any information about adding support for the Android operating system. But with the Droid phones becoming extremely popular and more and more people asking for it could just be a matter of time before we issue some update to add that feature.
Thank You,

Hello! I installed Carsys in my car (Ford Kuga 2) and i have some problems i want to solve.
It has Freescale ARM v7 800 MHz, DDR2 256Mb,Android 2.2 and rooted.
1) I want to do Voice conrol like Siria/in Galaxy S4 with activation in the wheel. Is it real? Or i want to do functional like Ford Sync. There is mic in this media station .
2) I want to upgrade Radio and do it more comfortable to save stations. Can i do this? Standart radio is not comfortable to use and can only save 8 near stations. Maybe there is any ideas?
3) Maybe you can take something from http://www.roadnav.com.cn/show_content.php?id=409
And also maybe you have any ideas how to improve it.
I can pay for it 100-200$ but i hope you will do it for "thanks"
Thanks! Sorry for my english.
Hello all,
I'm after a little bit of guidance on how I might add Bluetooth support to an Android powered Car stereo. It is a "Road Veles" single DIN WinCE and Android device with a 7" flip out screen. The reason I bought this stereo is to run an app by the name of MSDroid. This app was to connect to my vehicle's engine management system via Bluetooth.
Can't post links yet, easy search on Google for Road Veles, look for hit on Chinavasion
The specs say it has Bluetooth, but having tested the device out on the work bench what the specs don't say is that the bluetooth is only accessible for handsfree from WinCE, there is no bluetooth for Android. WiFi via USB dongle works great. I have purchased but not yet received a combined WiFi and Bluetooth dongle. I would very much like to have this combined dongle work with the device. The Bluetooth control is not visible under WiFi control inside settings like it is in my Android phone.
Can anybody point me in the direction of where to start with this? Can I root the device and mod to add bluetooth? Is there another ROM I could run? I have done a lot of searching but can't see much at all out in internet land on this stereo!
Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance,
Arran
Hi, I'm not sure how these sort of things usually work, what sort of dollar value would usually be associated with making a some tweaks to an Android build? ...
Hi again, still looking into this. Any ideas how to tweak the Android 4.0.4 OS to make bluetooth appear inside the settings menu?
Hey,
can someone please tell me how to make that my android close all apps when it connects to a new wifi or that it plays sound or music when it connects to new wifi????
on iphone there was a tweak, so i think it will exist for android too?!?
please help :fingers-crossed:
Tasker, Llama
A couple of handy apps that you can use are Tasker and Llama, the latter being Free.
You get to run actions based on conditions(and there are loads).
Generally, the logic would look like this.
If Wifi Connected -> Close open apps
Have fun experimenting with these apps!

Hi,
I have an old android phone (Samsung Galaxy Grand) lying around. it is rooted and currently running CM12.1. I want to use it as an audio receiver over bluetooth for my speakers. I want to play the music from my daily runner (OnePlus One), streaming to the speakers via bluetooth. If any app which can do this, please let me know. Otherwise, if someone can point some Android Bluetooth API which can do this, I can create an app.
Thanks,
Sriram.
