just wanted to report, I just installed the rom and did a wipe data and cache, everything went fine, restored my apps using titanium backup, but I got the fc force close as soon as I started the phone to sign in to my google account, when I signed to twitter, I got the fcs, I went to rom manager and did the fix permissions, rebooted but it keeps doing the fcs, I will give it some time to see, but it does not appear to affect anything, I just press force close and everyting goes well, I did a full benchmark, and it gives me 800, before I was at 2000 with the lag fix, I dont know if I want to keep this rom with the bloatware remove but sacrifice the speed and be bugged with the force close issue, I think I will wait for a more stable rom.
Did you clear the dilvak cache?

boot into cwm recovery.. under advanced...
with that said... WTF is it? lol. ive been having some fc issues myself... running the clean 0.1 and get fc's during navigaton and from time to time.. seems like when its syncing.
EDIT: Also, dont rely too much on those quadrant scores.. there has been some debate as to the validity of those scores.
look at those scores closer, the only difference is the I/O speed which atm isn't showing a major speed difference unless you have like ten apps open. the cpu speeds and stuff are all the same, plus all the fcs are already being talked about in the roms thread

I was having force closes as well, but not anymore, I've heard if you wipe format, clear cache, clear davlik, do all that three times... Then once rom installed, install it again immediately after reboot you should have a solid install ... I don't know the science behind it, but my rom has been running pretty solid with no fcs.

i did clean the delvick cache, and it still does the fcs
i applied the zip from this thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793479
and its behaving... though i was really only having problems after running my navi for more than 30min... guess ill see in the next hour or so if it cleared that up...
on the plus side.. i got my puzzle slide lock screen back... yeah i got some "garbage" back too... but i think maybe we need some of it to remain stable
I turned my calendar sync off and all is well.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Yeah I was going to say. Disable the calendar synch featurea for Google, Facebook, Exchange, and anything else you might have under accounts and you'll be fine. It FCs because the calendar app is being accessed but it isn't there.
I just went back to using Google Calendar online. That's what I did with my Eris cuz the stock calendar sucked so much. The Samsung calendar app was perfect. I can live without it though.

ok i will try that and report back
yes, it is fixed, i disabled the sync feature an d no more issues, thankz, im happy now
I find that when I flash my phone, with lets say the latest synergy, my phone will work amazingly well. Very snappy, with no lag. After a few days of use, no matter what Rom I'm on, the phone becomes less responsive, and i notice a much greater deal of lag and delays.
My phone is pretty active. It runs K9 Mail, and Touchdown Exchange. Both apps together most likely see nearly 250-500 e-mails a day. I have both set to delete mail more than 2 months old. You can see my other apps here: http://www.appbrain.com/user/DeMiNe0/apps-on-the-pg86100
I'm assuming the slowdown is caused by the numerous caches on the phone. If I clear my caches everything tends to speed back up for a few days. Is this normal for Android? I'm assuming it is(Atleast for HTC Devices), as I had this issue with my OG Evo too. Are there apps that will manage your cache so that this issue happens less often? It's just a pain having to dump my caches and then waiting 15-20 minutes for the phone to restart.

Out of curiosity, when you say clear your caches, what specifically are you referring to clearing? i.e. which directories?
There is definitely an issue with some android applications storing large amounts of data in their /data/data directories. Not sure there is any type of quota or limits on them either. I know I've seen the browser cache accumulate many files.
Also, in agreement and support to your observations with both the EVO and EVO 3D, HTC Sense doesn't seem to contain the most optimal code or procedures. I know when I ran CM7 (based off AOSP) on my EVO, the base OS was a lot smoother and quicker than the base HTC Sense.
As a possible solution, I think I've seen a few applications on the Market under the term wipe/clean/clear cache but I haven't tried any of them. I have thought about creating an application to fulfil this function but there seemed to be enough on the Market so I scratched the idea.
Always good to know somebody else has the same observations! Hope some of the feedback helps!

No effing way it should take that long to reboot. Are you on a custom ROM? Most of them boot in a minute or two. When you wipe in recovery the ONLY one you should wipe is cache, and NOT dalvik. Also, there are a few good root apps that wipe your app caches from the OS, no reboot required. Two come to mind - "cache cleaner" "cachemate". Try those, or wipe just cache in recovery not dalvik, should boot really fast.
Edit : the app "fast reboot" may help too, if it's just a bunch of open processes in your OS. It closes all of them and restarts them, without an actual reboot. You could also try a root app for memory management, like "autokiller", etc.
I purchased this app and I am having an issue where it wont save the settings.
I posted on their help page saying I couldn't get it to save my settings and thought maybe I was doing it wrong, and got this reply.
Hello,
you are not doing anything from. This is a well known problem on some Samsung devices, since the update of Android version 2.2.1. The settings of some apps are not saved permanently. Once this problem occured, this will happen again and again.
As the problem seems to be caused by a bug in Samsung's version of the Android OS I am afraid to say that we can't do anything against it. We hope that Samsung is about to fix the reason of this in the future. Maybe you can contact the Samsung support, that they hopefully
accelerate working on that issue. So unfortunately your device is affected by this problem. Some people told us that a factory reset helps them out of this really annoying problem, but I won't guarantee for anything. That's up to you.

Now I have been running the Galaxy S since launch day and my Galaxy SII since December. I frequent the forums here daily. Yet I have never seen or experienced anything like this happening before. Is their reply BS or have I missed something in my readings? And if they are correct, is it fixable with a hack? I really like the program.

Weird. I use business calendar, and haven't noticed any issues with it not saving settings. I honestly don't make too many changes to the defaults though, so maybe it's something you are doing that I am not? If you want to give me a specific case that you can reliably reproduce, I'll give it a shot to see if it loses that setting for me as well...
All I have to do is open it and it goes right to the 'Welcome to Business Calendar' page nearly every time. I change the week to start with Sunday and the day to start at 7:00am, then when i reopen it goes back to the welcome page and my settings are gone.
Oddly it did that for a while, then it seemed to not, then it started again.
It does it for sure right after a reboot. I stopped rebooting to see if it would fix it but it doesn't.
I was considering switching to CM7 to see if that fixes it, but I like ICScrewd.
have you tried reinstalling the app? Maybe something happened during install. I also have Business Calendar and never have any problems with it (and I've changed the settings in the app, just as you are trying to do)

I'm also running ICScrewD (2.1, with Entropy DD 3/7/12 ATM but also with Siyah .13 for a while). Just tried changing week start day to Sunday (actually, shoulda done that a long time ago ) and could not duplicate your issue - closed out and re-opened, and it opened back up to the calendar.
As my friendly nemesis Mr. NYYDynasty said (yeah, I live in New England, I'm a BoSox fan ) it could be a bad install. You might also want to try clearing app data from
menu>settings>applications>business calendar>clear data
before remove/reinstall...
Good luck.
Thanks guys, I will give that a shot. I pretty much figured I would get better advice and help here on XDA than I would from the developers help page.
I will post back what happens after i give it a bit.

Well clearing data didn't help. As a matter of fact, there is nothing showing in the data indication before I clear it. 0.00B. Do you guys show some kind of volume on that data? I have nothing there or in the cache.
Its not saving anything in there I guess? It will work fine until I close it out. If I force stop it and then reopen its back to the welcome page.
I will try deleting and reinstalling.
edit: Nope, didn't fix it. I did have 16.00kb in the data section after a re-install and save so I was hopeful and it even showed that amount after a reboot but still went back to the welcome screen and lost my changes after the reboot.

Fwiw, I show 160k for data, and zero for cache. Not too many calendar items at the moment.
I got no clue though why it isn't working...

I run this app with no issues. Have not seen the behavior you describe. Do you by chance have both the free and paid versions installed at the same time? If so, delete both, reboot, and just reinstall the paid version. Just a wag....

I purchased the app straight off. Never tried the free version.
Deleting data and uninstalling has proven unsuccessful so I guess we are out of luck here.
I guess the developer was correct in saying some Samsung devices have an issue with it.
I am happy with the way my phone is set up right now but if I change the rom I will give Business Calendar a try then. Maybe a wipe and reinstall would change things. I am kinda holding out for CM9 before I do that though.
Seems to have been fixed when I switched to CM7 and then to RockRatts Cobra v2b. That leads me to beloved its not really a Samsung issue but rather a formatting issue.

First of all I am a noob and I hope this isn't one of those questions that makes me want to smack myself after figuring it out. The other day I flashed AOKP rom and then noticed the images from my google+ account started showing up in my gallery (not good). So I disabled instant upload, disabled gallery, and cleared the gallery's cache to get rid of the synced pics. I went back to enable the gallery and it wasn't there to enable anymore. Is there something I'm overlooking or what? I've tried some other gallery apps but am kinda partial to the stock gallery.
A) fix permissions. No workie?
B) clear cache. No workie?
C)reflash rom only clearing cache and dalvik.
There are other fixes but they take more time to type out. And one of these will work. I've never had this happen to me. But reflashing will fix it if nothing else does.

Thanks! Got it back on there. Of course the pictures I can't seem to get rid of came back also. Ahh well, I'll keep digging for them. Google seems to have really been slipping when it comes to the execution of some of there services, but on the other hand it's really hard to complain too much about free services.
Not sure what is causing this to my Nexus 9 lte on t-mobile. It has been working great then today this message will just not stop popping up.
I've trying going to the apps area and uninstalling play store update, clearing cache but it's tough to do since when you click ok on this message, it immediately pops right back up.
I've tried wiping dalvik and cache in recovery to no avail.
I have even nandroided back to the stock with root I created immediately after I rooted using the wugfresh program.
It boots fine, then I install the programs I need to install and update the apps. All works fine. However, when I reboot, this message comes back again and pops up immediately again once I hit the ok button.
Please help. I figured once 5.1 came out, I would just wipe and flash the 5.1 but the way this is going is pretty much rendering my tablet useless since the message is always popping up.
Please help. Thank you,
Whiteice

Same here. Untouched stock 5.0.1 ROM. WiFi only tablet.
Might be worth mentioning that I got a google app update today before this started happening.
What the **** Google!!!!!!!
Tablet has important work stuff and its unusable now.
Weird. I just had the same thing happen on my MotoX (2013) yesterday, but my N9 is fine.
My MotoX is rooted, so I manually deleted all gapps from /system/app/ and /system/priv-app/ and /data/app/ then reinstalled SlimRoms minimal gapps package. I never did figure out what the exact problem was.
---update---
Rats, I spoke too soon. Got this error again on my MotoX today. Fortunately, it only seems to pop up once a day, so I can live with it for now.

mine is doing this today too. first time I've reboot in a while and it started up after the boot. im on stock with fire ice kernel. musta been a google play service.update that broke something.
I had this happen today: constantly popping up making tablet virtually useless.
tried various things, wipe cache/dalvik, reset all app preferences, and others.
This is what finally worked:
Settings->apps->all->Google play services->manage space->clear all data
This is a rooted WiFi N9 running stock 5.01
Hope this helps!
i cleared data and cache of just about everything and unistalled everything i could (tedious task trying to hit the screen before the anr pop up). i just used this as an excuse to switch from stock to AICP - i'm on wifi only. so no biggie and i got a better more customizable version of lolli. still PIA that it even happened.
This just happened to my N9 wifi this morning. It rebooted on its own (stock but rooted) then the message came up. The problem I had was that the message wouldn't stop so I couldn't access anything in the Settings. I tried the no wipe with Wug's but no change. Trying a wipe mode. What a PITA. Heading to google forums to see what's been reported.
The problem is being reported at google products forums--happening on N5 also. So far, wipe with toolkit (even using the factory reset mode) hasn't done anything. On to checking which recovery I have and do on tab reset.
Happened again this morning!!!
Tablet startup was unusually slow then i was greeted by gapps crashing over and over rendering the tablet unusable.
I'm starting to think this is caused by data corruption. Filesystem or nand problems?
Lollipop is killing lots of nexus 7 devices, I'm worried we might be next!!!

Google play services was updated to 7.3.28, see if that's the version you have. Also try clearing cache for it.
Sent From Capsule Corp.
I followed jetfin's suggestion and cleared all data and it worked!!
A Google search reveals that a lot of people have had this issue for the past couple of months.
It saddens me to see the state that android/Google are in.
Edit: looking at battery usage, I found that the dex2oat utility has been working too hard. I'm guessing the problem is with ART corrupting the play services update. Either a ROM issue or a bad update from Google!!
Works!

this has also been happening to me over the last few days - mine was occuring on galaxy s5 though, had to keep re-installing a backup (lucky I had a recent one). fixed it by wiping google play data.. popups stopped immediately
