i got a samsung vibrant with the bionix-v 2.2 rom, was wondering how to put a custom boot.
Find a boot animation.
Rename to bootanimation.zip
Use astro or root explorer to move that file into
System/media
Replace or copy old bootanimation in there.
MAKE SURE THE ROM IS ABLE TO SUPPORT CUSTOM ROMS BIONIX CAN.
There is a tutorial for creating your own below the examples in the first post of this thread...
[BOOT AND SHUTDOWN ANIMATION]::Added:: TV off shutdown animation.
Is it possible to run a custom bootscreen on the Samsung Vibrant via stock ROM? I am operating off a stock rom (UVKA7) and the link below mentioned compatibility with running a custom boot animation. Problem is, I am having a hard time getting this to work.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...boot-animation-on-your-rooted-android-device/
The page mentions copying over bootanimation.zip to /system/media/ folder but I find no file in this folder, in fact, it appears the annoying boot screen is a bunch of images.
posible, yes
you would need to download a handpicked bootanim.zip. use super make sure to use R/W(from settings at main) and drop in in the system/media folder.
But this is only achievable through a rooted device
So, now that we're rooted. Lets get that animation installed. I've checked /system/media but its full of .qmg files. I'd rather not flash over them with bootanimation.zip which is flying around for every phone.
So, let me know if you have the files necessary to change this.
+1 for me ... want to have the xoom bootscreen on my gt
I have the Hellcat kernel but i do not see the bootanimation.zip
I see ODEAnim.zip and replaced that with bootanimation.zip (and even renamed it) but no luck?
how can i get my custom animation working?
lol, then I deleted the .qmg boot animation files, and now i have no boot animation.
..with the bootanimation, yes again...
So, I installed a costum ROM, whit was making big problems for me, changed it, but that sucker bootanimation still there. Deleted from the system/media folder the bootanimation.zip file, replaced the BOOTSAMSUNG and BOOTSAMSUNGLOOP.QMG files....now, i get an animation, but on the startup screen that ugly image still appears...
is there any flashable apk file whic will change back the fon to its stock animation or i can explode this phone?

Click to collapse
find the bootanimation.zip (often located in System/media or in Data/local) and erase it. I usually do this, or, better, go back to samsung stock rom, I advice you XXKI3, is a full rom and it has a pit file. You shouldn t have problem. bye
Are you talking about the bootscreen BEFORE the bootanimation, by any chance?
If so, that's my cue
Grab this: https://market.android.com/details?id=net.hellcat.droiddev.sgs2bootlogo
and go wild on changing it back to w/e you want.
If you grab the file "param.lfs" from a stock ROM update .tar, you can also revert to the original Sammy screen.
If this WASN'T your issue - just silently ignore me
