As per subject.
I've created multiple Rome using different bases and on none of them does the mobile data work. I've tried the stock kernels and fauxs unified one too.
Wifi and Bluetooth work flawlessly without any disconnects or problems its just mobile data.
I've tried numerous Apn settings and copied them from different Roms and tried inputting them myself.
I really am lost I can't work out what the problem is. My radio is the latest UK one? Its something like 1.100.00R
Any help is appreciated, thank you.

It works fine on other Tom's, just not the ones I'm creating.. I'm obviously missing something or doing something wrong but I don't know what.

First off I want to say although this is my first post, all of you here at xda have been a huge help. I would not know what I do if it wasn't for u guys.
Now as for the problem, when I finally achieved root I attempted to flash hensemod 6 and got stuck at recovery. After lots of searching I found the metro RUU and installed it. This allowed me to use my phone again but I no longer had access to the data network.
The only clue I have is the fact that I have no apns-conf file. S I any suggestions or ideas welcome. Also I'm running a completely stock wfs with soff, if you need anymore info let me know.

Does anybody have an idea? I'm running out of search ideas and metro support sure as hell didn't help

After playing around with the apn backup restore app I found out that all my settings are set to null. But even after restoring a file with the correct settings it still doesn't work

Bump
So am I missing something or does nobody have an idea?

It would be really nice if somebody could chime in with an idea, I've tried numerous apn files and still no network access

so now that .19 verzion mobile hotspot works so well, i was wondering if it'spossible to extract the files and move to any rom. i have tried but must not get all the files needed. can anyone tell me which files they are and if it can be done. or if someone can make a flashable file that can inject the hotspot to any sense rom. i use it daily out on the road and since update has been flawless for me. but so many devs take it out. any help would be appreciated very much.
Most of the devs take it out because most of us use the wireless tether app. I would say try using roms that have it in them already.

Using one now. But it's stock. And with kernel problems on 19 I was thinking of moving hotspot to. 9 custom rom. I seem to get better service on 4G and better voice and data at same time using hotspot. Just figured one of the devs here that delete all the files would know the names of them and might help me out by letting me know which ones they are.

I have noticed that any ROMs based on the international base have a problem with putting my Note II into roaming whenever I am connected to my network extender at home. Any ROMs built on the Verizon base work just fine. My question is: can I backup my modem settings with TWRP, flash a ROM built on the international base and then restore the modem as the last step to get around this issue?
Sorry if this is a noob question, but I am new to Android and custom ROMs.

The modem stays with every flash until you flash a new one, you don't have to worry about it. As for what you want to do I don't think it would matter about the Network Extender, everything you would need would be built in to the international Roms on our forums, but I'm not 100% sure as I've never came across this before.

Thanks for the information. I figured the solution probably wasn't that easy.

Well sting as how the modem carries over no matter what you flash then you wouldn't have a problem there. How does the extender work? Do you connect like WiFi or does the phone automatically pick it up or do you have a special app? I don't think you'd have assn issue as long as you stayed on TW but AOSP you may depending on how the extender works.

The network extender connects to a home wireless network so you are basically doing VOIP when connected to it. There is no app to use, the phone automatically uses the extender when it is available.

Then it should work with any ROM.
The only thing I have found is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2108887
The only time problems were experienced was on AOSP, and that was only due to a leaked modem that probably wasn't optimized yet, so I would bet you won't have any issues

Thanks for the link. That is pretty much exactly what happens for me with any AOSP/International base ROM. I am guessing that network extenders are a Verizon/US only device and perhaps that explains why only Verizon based ROMs properly recognize the extender. The extender itself actually works and my phone calls properly get routed through the extender. The phone however is always on roaming when connected to the extender, so if data roaming for example is turned off things get a little difficult. It isn't a huge deal really, it just keeps me from using some of the more interesting AOSP type ROMs that are available.

You could ask Scott if there is a fix for Cleanrom and ask Beans the same thing. You could also ask in the AOSP threads if there is any way for that to be worked on, its very very odd....

It may be something that was either taken out to make the ROM more sleek or not added to the international base.

I flashed one of the roms and everything worked on it but data and calls/sms. Not sure if that's modem wise or not but I couldn't find one on here anywhere or Google to try it out. You just flash the rom and a sprint kernel after and it should boot I used the t mobile rom vision x. Any ideas to get them working?

essentially what it sounds like you are doing is a basic porting of roms. from tmobile to sprint. theres a few threads on it. problem is MMS wont work or something. i dont remember what exactly the problem was even after its ported over.
Yeah I don't no how to port I'll have to look into it. I just figured I would try and see if it would even boot since we have so little roms
