Hello everyone,
as object, I would reset my htc hero in the wild to be able to send it in assistance. In the past I did everything by installing the HTC RUU, but now the problem is that USB is not recognized by any operating system and any computer (although I also tried changing the cable).
I reinstalled the original ROM but I can not find the original recovery and unfortunately I have no backup nandroid
I hope someone can help me, maybe switch your backup files.
Thanks a lot
Moved to Q&A as not development.
Try flash_image recovery stockRecovery.img
Not sure where you can get stock recovery image from. I might have it somewhere on my HDD, or you could extract the IMG file from an RUU.

Hello
The touch screen on my hero has broken.
It's not responding in some places.
I have to send it in for repairs.
Im running Modaco 3.0 & amon ra recovery image on the phone.
As this problem with the screen is a warranty issue, i have to revert the phone back to the standard os & standard recovery image.
Anyone know how to do this?
I can't find any guide for this.
I want to flash the phone with the standard htc hero rom and at the same time get the standard htc recovery image back.
This is a European unbranded phone.
I'm guessing you made a Nandroid backup before flashing to MoDaCo Custom ROM? If so, restore the backup via the boot menu and the recovery image to the original one (guessing you backed that one up too).
Code:
mount -a
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-backup.img
reboot
And that should be it.
Also, I think that if you download the latest ROM upgrade for Hero via htc.com, even the recovery image also be reverted to the original one. However, someone will have to confirm.
Don't have a nandroid backup. Formated the card, swaped card and so on..

I would say you're right on that solution!
Yes, just run the RUU for generic Hero's and everything will be set back to factory.

Hey guys I made something bad to my legend. Now I have to flash .img files throught fastboot, but I've lost my NANDroid of Stock ROM and other NANDroids are not signed and I can't flash them. I can't S-OFF ( I can't turn on the phone, it bootloops, and I can't mount SDcard in clockwork recovery ). I already chosed DISABLE SIGNATURE VERIFICATION in clockworkmod. I still can't flash other NANDroid's .img. So, could anyone upload his NANDroid of official HTC's ROM for Legend? Thanks a lot... I like my legend and I want it back!
Sorry can't help ya here... Try Googling it, the file might pop out. But if all's lost factory reset?
Sent from my Legend using xda premium
Well, now I have a stock ROM "running". WiFi doesn't initialize ( Error ), if I start it with MicroSD in it just Bootloops at the "y" of "Quietly Brilliant" bootanimation and if I switch it on when not charging ( even if battery is fully charged ) my Legend just infinitely bootloops at the green htc logo just before the bootanimation. Also, can't mount SDcard in Clockwork recovery.
I already googled it, without results. Nobody needs a system.img backup and similar things. If there is one on the web, it is too hidden and I haven't enought time.
Thanks for trying. My Legend is so grateful to you
have you tried digging in the RUU files? i think the stuff you need is in side the rom.zip where we rename this rom.zip to LEGEIMG.zip and leave it at the root of a gold card to downgrade thinggy. extract it you have lots of .img... this files can be found from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=725430 you can look for the other tho...
i dont remember we can just flash .img to our legend without s-off or security-off in fastboot.
if you cant mount your sd-card you can use a card reader.
but since you can go in to CWM with fake flash or you have change your recovery. why not use another card to flash. who knows you have a bad card?
Thanks, but I can't mount SDcard. With a SDcard it would be easy, but actually I can't get it mounted, both in recovery and OS.
I sent my legend to HTC Service, and now I'm waiting for their report.
Should I sign this thread "solved", even if it isn't solved but I just don't need anymore the img files?
Hello

This is the first time I'm trying to install a new rom and had a problem. Now my phone doesn't start anymore. It hangs on the htc logo screen.

Which version of the phone do you have? Sounds like the INTL one to me. You can still follow my tut here to get your rom and gapp's on your phone to flash.
Good luck
Maybe a silly question, but, do you have the windows drivers installed for the phone?

Thank you for the quick reply.
I managed to make it work.
Basically it seems like the phone takes time to get recognised by my system, is this normal?
After mounting the usb storage from recover and plugging the usb, when I used adb push, it says device not found.
After a minute, I used the command line again and it worked.
I pushed both the rom and gapps.zip file and installled them and now it's working.
My question now is: I had apps, messages, calls and contacts - is it possible to get them from the backup as well as keep this rom that I've just installed?
PS : is not connecting to the wifi, stating that there are authentication problem, is this normal?
Thank you
Can someone tell me if the wifi connection is an issue with this phone when intalling the rom mentioned earlier.
I had apps and other stuff on my phone, I can still see their respective folders, can I restore my apps back?
ps: I made a full backup of my official rom, I wanted to restore it back and this is what I've done:
Wiped system,dalvik,cache and factory
then restored all three partitions of my backup.
It turns on but it keeps hanging on the htc one logo
what can I do in this case?
Thank you

I could be completely wrong but you might have to flashed the boot.img from your backup? did you flash a boot.img from a custom rom? TWRP won't flash boot.img properly so it has to be done in the bootloader.
Hope this sheds some light on your issue
Cheers!
When we make the backup, TWRP doesn't create a boot image file,at least not explicitly.
The file with the name "boot" have md5 and win extension.
I thought the same thing, that probably I need to flash the boot.image file as I did flash a custom boot before installing cm10.
So where is the boot.img file for my stock? how can I extract it?
Hi Community,
I have a massive problem and I hope you can help me.
I rooted my HTC One X successfully and tried to flash custom roms on it which kind of worked. I put the zip folder on the internat sd card and flashed it without flashing the boot.img.
Finnaly I found out to do that, flashed the boot.img but while installing the ROM the problem code/status 7 appeared and I had to restart the phone in order to put the right rom onto the phone, which i had on my computer.
But while booting, the phone just got stuck in bootloop showing the HTC logo.
I already tried quite a lot of stuff to rescue my phone, for example to restore the nandroid backup - didnt work, flash another backup onto phone - still bootloop, flashed a new rom with boot.img - still bootloop.
The only solution i could find was to unroot the device and flash the stock rom onto it.
Is that really my last resort or is there another way?
Thanks for your help.
I just saw that I posted it in the wrong forum. If a admin could please replace it, i tried to delete it but it didn't work.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi,
I'm new to flashing a rom, I tried to flash via fast boot a boot.img file. Now it seems I have wiped my memory as the phone is just stuck on the HTC screen. I tried to side load a zip through TWRP but it failed. I can still access recovery but can't mount system and can't access the memory via a sub connection.
I'm desperate for some help please as this is my only phone.
Thanks for reading and I hope you can help.
Kind regards
Lee B
