ok guys i got a hold of a captivate honestly not very impressed it is a very censored device, but one thing i did like about it is the body of it pretty sleek looking, so out of boredom i rooted and ripped all the files
so far what works
AT&T radio works...kinda ugly ui but it works (10 min. trial, subscription req.)
AT&T nav loads but does not work
AT&T mobile instant messaging works but is ugly still looks like windows mobile version.
AT&T Where, Works but seems useless to me
AT&T hotspot locator works(useless)
YP mobile Works
all apps were tested on stock rom and removed right after
What does this have to do with the vibrant?

Just odined myself back to stock and installed Trigger. I was going through market and can't find several apps I had before loosing all my data. I'm missing Clockr Evolution, wolfram alpha FSU login (school app), and possibly more.... Those were some of my favorite apps, if anyone knows how to fix this, I'd love any ideas.
I had the same problem with stock froyo and so did a lot of people, but all my apps showed up on the market when I flashed bionix-v.

Not sure if this would work, but visit the android market website on your computer. It lists all of the apps you have previously purchased with the option to download them on your phone.

I actually tried the website. It tells me those Apps are vibrant incompatible... I'll try Bionix-v later on.

This app was free today and first off I love it. second off for some reason when in landscape mode my icons in my widget folders all dissapear and need a reboot to come back. tried many solutions but nothing seems to work anyne else using this program have this issue? I am on phiremod 6.3 btw
I've been using it for nearly a year and never had any problems on any of my devices. Cm7 nightly on my nc.

I hated Motoblur but loved the social networking app and widget... Is it possible to port it to CM7 or develop something similar...
Or maybe there's something out there that's equivalent that I've missed.
Ideas?

One of the main reasons for CM7 is to get rid of all of the crap companies put on it and provide a pure android experience.
I also like the social networking app from Blur and I'd like to see it ported to CM7. Unfortunately I haven't found anything similar on the market.
Will never happen...requires motoblur which cm7 work so hard at removing.

If you like the Blur apps, you gotta use a Blur ROM.
It's not all bad, some of that bloat is actually quite functional.
That's too bad... I refuse to leave cm7! I just want a social widget that will stream all of my networks... That particular one happens to have a nice ui.
I'll get over it... Lol

LauncherPro paid version has a social widget that pulls update from multiple sources.
There are actually many widgets like that - like pure widgets, etc. Google will point you in the right direction.
Colordized Widgets... Nuff said... and executive assistant ... everything you need...

Hello,
My son loves playing on my phone as well as my wife's. Issue is he's two and a half years old....
Needless to say you'll find new apps installed via ads in games, random messages sent to people, things moved and or deleted. We've since put locks on our phones but that's not really a solution as then you need to unlock it for him and he still has full access to everything (last time my wife found out she had 20 new friend requests on Facebook lol)
My question is.. is there eight a good home launcher that you can make a second user with limited app access (only ones you selected to allow) or a ROM with a similar feature built in that works with galaxy s devices (mines a gt-i9000t and hers is a vzw fascinate)
Or, any other app suggestions that default to a kid mode unless you unlock/exit the app to get full access to the device?
Mine is currently running aokp, hers is on the stock vzw firmware but I have no problem doing a rom and/or rooting if required.

4.1 was also found to have some code for 'user' logins as well (so in sometime this wiml hopefully be supported in an official capacity)

Set up a second launcher just for him and put the apps he can use on the desktop and delete the shortcut for the app drawer
You can also set up a pin to download from the play store now i think.
