Hi,
All this fuss about SE putting allot of man hours in their Android ROM got me wondering what they actually added or changed.
I'm relatively new to Android so I have no idea how a normal 1.6 release looks like.
A quick list for starters:
- More recent kernel
- Many kernel exploits fixed
- UXP
- Time/Mediascape
- SE Camera app (Digital zoom, scenes)
- SE Sync
- Closed up bootloader (maybe this one took allot of time?)
Are there any other changes done by SE devs? Different behaviors or new features?

Hey KiNgxKxNexus is back
This is actually a nice ROM despite the graphical issues
Blasphemy!!!
Seriously, the video thing is real annoying.
Back to Modaco R21 Desire. Hopefully the Froyo Sense build gets over to the N1 soon. The MFlops on Lindpack are crazy compared to the sad 6.8 I get with R21 Modaco.
Paul is finalising his port at the moment, i cant wait to see what he has cooked up for us Im sure paul wont release it untill he has made it stable and feature packed

Apparently Paul has got HTC flashlight working and FM working (which means BT is also working)
Exciting times in the world of Sense!!
I have to admit I'm getting pretty anxious for a Froyo Sense Port. I've tried out king's and they are a good start but I am waiting to see what comes from him and Paul soon. One big issue with King's is that there is only 40 MB of space for programs. It's still cool that it's out as quick as it is. I hope they both continue working on it regardless, the more the merrier I say!
Funny to see you guys talking about Paul's ROM in this thread but whatever
Anyway, tried this ROM couple of days ago, very nice work but the graphical glitches drove me crazy... so back to LeoFroyo for me
Keep up the great work!

The FM Radio stems from IR's kernel support so creds should be shared between the two for that)

FIXES & OTHER THINGS
(1) If you are on T-MOUS and are having problems with MMS see this for fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8981441&postcount=250
(2) If you get an error downloading any apps such as "Angry birds" try un-mounting your SD card then install the app and then mount back after it is installed.
(3) To switch to 2G or any other use the included "network" app.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation
- Extract build to your desktop
- Place "Android" folder on the root of your SD card
- Unzip a data.img below in your "Android" folder (optional for faster first boot)
- With keypad lights on, run "CLRCAD.exe" then "haret.exe"
- First boot will take up to 10-20 minutes unless you used a data.img below
First boot setup
- I recommend waiting 5 minutes before unlocking the screen the first time on first boot. Everything seems to go a lot smoother that way.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are 2 versions now. V0.4 Has the blue battery and has the clock mod to remove it from the status bar (see below for picture) and V0.4A has the clock in the status bar and also has the circle battery meter (see below for picture).
I recommend starting with a fresh data.img but you should be able to use the same data.img from V0.3 without any problems

hi motoman,
will the cmd line "wifi.mac" work with mdeejay's kernel? I am asking because I would like to try this build but it has mdeejay's kernel and 4-6mA stand by is promising. I am always using hastarin's becuase the wifi mac change works for me.
thanks.

That's a good question, I don't have anyway of testing it right this second but I have seen M-deejay put that in his startup.txt before so it's worth a shot. If it works for you let me know and I will add it

Looks good. Thanks for your effort and sharing.
just to update, wifi.mac works. At least I can use the real mac address. Tint fix works for me.
@Moto, no heat intended, do you have, by any chance a comparison between MCCM's update of this same build of mdeejay?
thanks,
jm

Glad it worked for you. As far as the changes go, I'm not sure all what he did besides kernel fixes but I changed some graphics and tweaked a few things to the build itself (to my preference, not saying it's better by any means). If you booted both you should be able to tell overall. Everyone has there own idea of modding and customizing builds, you know? I wouldn't of released it if it was the exact same thing. I think he likes to keep everything the way it looks, which is good too. Just giving people options

Yep! This was one of my all time favorites too so I thought I'd share! I just hope people don't think that I am trying to start some contest with mccmjoon76 or something lol. You shouldn't even be able tell they are from the same Inc build soon. All the credit goes to M-deejay since he was the original creator of the Inc build for the HD2 as far as I know. I respect both of their work.
By the way, I checked our dropbox and you did some really awesome work with those digits. I updated our conversation text.
Hi, how did you get your battery indicator?

This is a build based on M-deejay's froyo INC build with some graphic and system tweak changes done. You may be asking what the difference between this and the other froyo INC builds out there. I try to customize my builds to make them look different from others. I was making this build for me to use but I figured it would be selfish if I didn't share
Droid_Incredible_Remix V1.0 features
-Based on the Android 2.2.1 update
-Full 5mp camera with zoom
-PPP only
-Multilanguage
-Very loud sound
-DSP manager
-ril_wrapper from letama for better data connection
-Using M-deejays S6 kernel (Very stable for me)
-4-8mA in standby
-Updated graphics
-Added spare parts
-Removed all Verizon apps
-Removed most bloatware
-Others I am forgetting, will post them as I remember.
-A lot more features and changes to theme to come!
What's working?
-Everything that is working in other builds
What's not working?
-My only complaint is the camera still has the green tint.
FIXES & OTHER THINGS
A work around for the green tint in pictures is to go to camera settings and under "white balance" choose "Incandescent". I am aware of the build.prop fix but it brings on a lot more problems with the fix. I will try to have it fixed in the next version.
First boot setup
-I recommend waiting 5 minutes before unlocking the screen the first time on first boot. Everything seems to go a lot smoother that way.

I've been having the same problem with a few of your Sense builds..
While going in to edit the APN settings, I randomly receive a force-close for com.android.phone........ I followed your instructions on first boot and am now trying my second reboot. Is there any solution for my dilemma?
EDIT: No luck even after running TerminalEmu "su", then "fix_permissions"..

Ideas for kernels and ROMs

Separating posts from the other threads. I want them in here.
Post what you want in a kernel and what you want in a ROM, what kind of ROM, etc.
Let's keep this clean so Devs can see what we want and see if they can do it!
For the kernel Devs: We have part of the kernel source BUT not all of it. We do not have the WiFi driver source as HTC will not release it. This is the complicated part as far as I know of. I bet you guys are one hell of a dev and can do it.
For everyone else: Post what you want like this so it is nice and easy.
Example:
ROM:
- Power Menu
- Debloated
- Sense 4.0 Theme
- etc
- etc
Kernel:
- Overclockable
- For ICS
- Undervolted
- etc
- etc
That makes it easier to read and not look smashed up.
Let's try and make this easy and pleasant for those who wish to help us!
Ok, so...
A perfect Rom for me:
- Fully working sense 4
- Full beats audio and dsp manager
- Advanced power menu
Oh and something like leedroid tweaks
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Xparent Green Tapatalk 2
perfect for me: lets get CM9 fully functional! wifi, camera, bluetooth, nfc, and GSM are not working as of yet, right? couldn't the first step be there and then work our way up to the Sense ROMs?
ROM:
- Advanced Power Menu
- Notification bar toggles (like CM7 or MIUI)
- Unified Apps (i.e. Sense, AOSP, MIUI)
- Tweaks app
- Accurate battery icon
- Multiple lockscreens
- Stock or themed option
- Tweaked and optimized thoroughly
- Bloat removed
- Carrier IQ absent
- Lockscreen supports music controls for google music/pandora
- Sweet custom boot animation =P
Kernel:
- Optimized governors
- Optional capacitive light notification
- Optional backlight notification
- Optimized for battery life and performance
- GPU optimization for performance

The problem with some requests(like above for a rom) is that they list features included in cm9 or aokp, and a dev isn't going to spend countless hours doing that if it will be automatically replaced once cm9 is working(and it WILL be working).. so I suggest that people ask for features that are NOT specific to cm9/aokp/miui - because when any of those are successfully ported then those requests are fulfilled.
As far as kernel tweaks go, how about any/all of the tweaks that were implemented in faux's latest kernel? Seems like a pretty complete list of awesomeness there.. I doubt anyone here is going to suggest something that isn't already on that list, so a kernel dev just has to decide what is possible. And they will know best what they are capable of.

I agree with both of your suggestions. One thing, though. Whether we can have a fully working cm9 or not kind of depends on whether we can have a fully compatible kernel, I think. Even for custom roms to be more flexible and powerful (i.e. not just de-bloated, tweaked, or themed), we need more powers and features borrowed from Linux, or at least, a kernel that would allow devs to work on.
So the top priority for us now is to get all the kernel source codes for ICS from HTC. Without it, we can't go too far. Or am I missing something? Let's all sign the petition (it's somewhere in this forum).

I couldn't agree more - but I'm pretty sure we are going to have the source soon enough.. keep checking http://htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads for it. I mean I remember seeing sensation get their source after they got their ICS.. the official update just came out, perhaps they want to make sure there are no major issues before they release the source?
But still, YES.. we need kernel work more than anything else I think. It won't magically make everything else easy, but it will make it less impossible
EDIT: So I thought I would share this cool website.. check this out https://www.changedetection.com/log/htcdev/downloads2_log.html?emsg=1001(this page shows what changes were made to the htcdev address above) you can set it up so that it will e-mail you when there are changes to a website, or in my case - when they add the word "amaze" to http://htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads it will e-mail me.. so far there is only 1 other person watching that page for an update.. so I should be the first to know when our kernel source gets posted!
Very useful website, thought I would share! You could have it email you when a dev edits the OP of a rom they released, or if there is a website that gives special deals(have it look for a specific word on that page), or if/when max krivonos ever updates his cm9 for the amaze post on google+(he hasn't since I started checking)..
but theres already a kernel source code on that website for the Amaze. so we're waiting for something more?

We need it for ICS(android version 4.0), and it should be kernel 3.0.16 instead of 2.something - what is on there is for gingerbread, and just having a kernel of 3+ means a lot more features.. source means that could be easily made into something better
and then that would help with getting CM9 fully functional? or at least thats the hope? lol
anybody know if the petition has been sent to HTC? maybe 500 signatures is enough for them to do something?
May have another new dev to help us!

This day just keeps getting better and better! Thanks again guys! (out of thanks today. I'll thank you tomorrow). One question though, is the camera working on this build?
I'm giving it a try now anyway, so I will report
Downloading...NOW!!! :highfive:
oh yeah!! :victory: :victory:
new version is up guys
the launcher problems as well the keyboard popup we cannot do anything...this is a bug on googles closed sourced new launcher lol. Lets hope they will update it as well soon. You can use nova instead which is in our builds as well
about camera we need to wait for the new bloobs from google. All other would be a hackish workaround which does not make sense assuming the blobs will be released soon
whatever
Fixes new version:
- added dalvik optimizations....so speed up step one
- reworked and adapted status bar clock and date customization to 4.4
- added some of our camera features (smart captchure, jpg quality, color filter, gps indicator)
- reworked the complete camera to the new google style. Google stoped it after they finished the photo camera interface lol. So all into new PIE style + some fixes + more consistent now
- added a bunch of Mms/SMS fixes
- activated on supported devices lockscreen transparency on nav and statusbar
- some stability fixes
- fixed some google 4.4 code derps
- a lot small stuff
have fun and cheers
PS. the camera features for deb of course you cannot use right now
I'm probably gonna flash this today The only question I have is this: I'm coming from an old nightly build of CyanogenMod 10.2, which is 4.3.
I remember when we made the jump to Jellybean, a new CWM had to be used and there were a bunch of changes.
It seems like the changeover from 4.3 to 4.4 is way less drastic.
WOuld I be able to get away with a dirty flash and just clear Dalvik cache, or do I have to do a full factory reset? I can Titanium Backup, I just would prefer not to
-edit- somehow doubleposted on accident, sorry!

Defiantly do a factory reset and format /system. 4.3 to 4.4 is too big of a jump for that.
I can't find TWRP 2.6.3.2
The newest version seems to be 2.6.3.1
Will it work with this version?
I flashed this last night using the same CWM Touch I used to flash cm10.2.
Flashed with twrp 2.6.3.1 all ok

I have successfully flashed it, but I can't use this ROM for my daily driver because BlueTooth is broken. I use both a Pebble watch and a pair of A2DP headphones, and both lose connection after the screen is off for a couple minutes. Its acting like the Bluetooth interface is going to sleep for power savings, but this is happening while I am actually listening to audio via Bluetooth. I do this roughly 20 hours a week and "need" this functionality in my tablet.
As a result, I'm going back to CM10.2 for now...

yes, that's OK. I fixed the error in the OP. sorry about the confusion
Thanks for bringing slim KitKat tastyness to deb, I'm using the same ROM on my Nexus 4 and there the keyboard popup does not appear.
Everything working sweetly never would guess this is an alpha build

it is currently a hard task on the one hand we bring all our devices up on the other hand we put back our features...some are redefined some we programm completly from scratch with new stuff. Eg today we pushed about 200 commits from 4.3 into 4.4 for our other devices + fixes for current devices
but mostly ppl are interested in new features...so new build has:
- superuser included (need to be enabled in developer options!!!)
- a lot new features just discover them...to much to write up
- a new crt animation...check it out
- fix settings locale language problem
- and tons of fixes under the hood
and new build is up
I added a simple list yesterday but it is actually more we have already included:
- all keyboard features are back (force auto rotate, disable landscape fullscreen, force enter button, ime notification, volume key cursor control)
- clock statusbar features
- crt animation
- statusbar brigthness slide
- safe headset volume
- volume rocker features (wake device, sound skip)
- slims privacy guard
- volume panel features we had
- keyguard on supported devices shows now transparent navbar/statusbar as well
- wifi country code
- advanced reboot menu
- custom LED battery and notification features
- swipe qs -> notification and back
- disbale OTA from google
- slims camera and video features (smart capture, image quality, image size, gps indicator etc)
- implemented root (needs to be enabled in developer settings or in superuser settings. Disabled by default)
- tons of fixes in google code and optimizations
- a lot under the hood stuff
- and whatever I forgot to mention lol
Awesome!... I actually just flashed the rom today and love it... Can I dirty flash today's build?.. 8)
Dirty was just fine... I see the camera app in titanium but can't find it in my app drawer... Real smooth so far!... Cheers...

Me too

Will we ever get the M8 Ultra battery features on our M7's?

I am just wondering if we will ever receive these features on custom roms etc, do you guys think it's possible?
