I got this problem, when i try to launch android ( thelittle green man) or go into the files explorer and hitCLRCAD then HARET - the screen turns black like this video :
I have search all over the website, also google'd it, nobody knows how to
HSPL3 - using the file 2.08. HSPL
and energy rom 22. aug. 2010 ( don't know where to find info)
I have tried to reformat the SD card, changed it with another, flash the HD2 like 4 times, installing the rom for WN and tried again with Energy.LEO - all stuff got from this site...
need desperate help!
anyone.. and sorry if this topic is some elsewhere - couldn't find some info...

Hi, I got one big problem while I was upgrading my Qtek 2020 from ROM 1.58fr to the Launch ROM fom O2. During the pocess I guess that I lost the connection and the upgrade failed.
I tried to launch it about 10 times without any results. When I switch on my Qtek I just see a grey screen showing me the version of the ROM I tried to install 1.03.
Now, as I cannot do that from my PC I would like to try from a SD card with the XDAtool. However, where do I find a ROM I can use to install my XDA with this tool and how do I boot from my SD card ?

Information on the SD Card upgrades can be found on another forum topic, here, obviously I don't need to tell you to be cautios when doing this.
As for finding a ROM, you can either use the one from a rom-kitchen, like lumpensteins rom-kitchen, or register and download one from your service provider and start installing it, but remove the files from the temp directory and put those on an SD card. There are plenty topics in these forums with more detailed instructions, so I suggest you search more.

OK, look at the top bar, You should see a word that looks like this - "Search". Click on it, type in a request making sure to specify the hermes. Wow, answers galore....

You need to do this BEFORE upgrading the rom. You need Hard SPL V7.
I got problem to instal spl v7. When trying to update it after a certain next, the display gone multi color and it says that connection is no longer exist. when I check spl on my device it shows spl 2.03. I am using vista home. What to do. Sorry for bother you again.
Go to page 116,post 1160 of thread I gave you. It tells you how to install Hard SPL with the sd card.
Just remember, the sd card MUST be 2Gb or less, it has to formatted FAT32 and the spelling of hermimg.nbh is VERY important.

I still can't find the wm6.1 upgrade page. I tried HardSPL 7, it finishes in an instance, how do i check whether i have HardSPL it?
And where do i find the update for 6.1? I'm pretty new to all this, so I am kinda blur and lost now~

Down load the rom, extract the files
rename the ruu_sgned file to "Hermimg"
Now put a micro SD memory card in a card reader
open my computer right click the drive that represents the memory card and format it
choose the fat 32 file system.
now copy the hermimg fie to the root of the card
soft boot your phone
press the power button to comfirm the rom update and watch the progress bar
when complete
reset your phone and the new software will install
if you get a new soft ware installed do you want to reset pick no
the phone will reset when all the software is installed.

Hello ,just joined as i thought this was a cracking site with loads of info and the best place to find help .I have just bought a hd2 as i wanted the latest windows based mobile with a very large screen as i often use memory map and tom tom together ,i have been using both on the XDA ii with out any problems but the trouble was it had a seperate gps reciever ,also the camera was'nt very good .
Couple of questions i need help with please
I have installed memory map and it seems to run fine but is there a way of rotataing the screen on the hd2 from potrait to landscape ?
I have TomTom 7 Version 7.915 PPC ,will this work on the hd2 and is it as easy to install as it was on the XDAii i had ?
I am not very technicaly minded with these things so a very simple guide is what i am looking for .
I have used the search function but not with any success

You have to be careful which version of TomTom you install.
Here is the 7.917 version which will work with your HD2 - * TomTom v7.917 *
obviously you still need to buy the maps - as this site does not allow warez.
Sorry, I've no idea about Memory Map.

Trying to install bsb tweaks as you have mentioned ,i am trying to follow the video about flashing a custom rom mentioned on another thread , but when i attempt to run the custom ruu ( i downloaded it from this site seperate as one did'nt come with the BsB tweakes ) it keeps telling me" cant install check update utility "

spl doesnt matter so long as it ends '.hspl'
The error you got sounds like you havent put the roms.nbh file in the same folder with customruu.exe.
Just those two files in a folder on their own.
BUT you do know bsbtweaks isnt a rom, right? its a program that you install like any other, nothing to do with customruu.

like all programs. Copy the .cab file to your phone, anywhere (most people have a folder on their sd card for such purposes) then on the phone open up file manager, browse to where the file is, and click it to run it.

When i run the setup file it takes me to opera .nut nothing happens
If i try to open anything else i get the message ,"there is no application associated ,run the application first .

nope, you have extracted the cab. (The pc thinks cab files are a type of zip file)
Dont do that. Copy the single cab file (bsbtweaks.cab or whatever it is called) to the phone and click it to run.
Cheers for the help yet again ,i have installed it and it seemed to install correctly ,yet when i ran the application it said it needs a newer version of microsoft for it to work ,any idea what i need now ?

except my French network provider is SFR ... so, in order to apply the solution I need an official SFR ROM
A] I scrolled the site ... unsucessfully
B] I Googled and found ... dead links
C] I ended up with a link to a .RAR file containing a RUU_signed.nbh supposed to be the official SFR ROM - nothing else was included ... I downloaded it
it could be what I'm looking for because my device agrees to load it (when it says "not allow" to all other ROMs)
BUT it remains for hours with this nice grey screen and that pretty blue "Loading..."
SO ... my 2 questions:
1) what do I do wrong? I really do believe I follow the step by step procedure
* rename the RUU_signed.nbh as LEOIMG.nbh
* copy it onto my SD card (FAT32 format) AND insert the SD card in the HD2 (of course)
* start the HD2 while pressing Volume down
* release Volume down when in Bootloader (3 colors screen)
* last but not least: pray & wait
2) can someone provide me with a link (or a hint) to an official SFR ROM that could work?
I would appreciate the .EXE file from which I'll extract the RUU_signed.nbh myself

You must flash the rom and language that your phone had when you bought it.
That means oldest rom of your language.

I had the same problem and i flashed through usb cable not sd card.
You must try it a lot of times and finally you succeed.

so explain like : when you get you phone it has windows in it's ROM and you have an SD card holding whatever...
and it is booting (starting the OS) from the ROM (it is usually this and this file)
for you to flash it you need to copy a file (is it leoimg.nbh ?) no idea...
to the ROM using a utility...

What is radio what does it do? what is nbh file? where do i put and how ROM of my choice choice.
in my case i did the following :
Prerequisites
* HSPL3 ~ SPL-2.08.HSPL done ok....
* DFT MAGLDR Bootloader (DFT_LEO_MAGLDR111.rar ok so what it reboots and white screen?)
after that i did ..
* Radio that support 576 RAM i have some radio but i don't get it what is radio what are the differences of the version and wtf ram? (is it dependent on the SN , Model no or what) will t install even if it is not compatible with my hd2?
i did (Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14.rar)
so now i can get the boot loader menu but if you go to menu no 4 (usb)
DFT_Android (DAF.exe) does not recognize the usb so... am i stuck?
i notices in DFT_Android there are 2 files (system.img 255mb and boot.img ) i guess daf.exe does something with theem boot is copied to the boot partition? system image is copied to the ROM? can i somehow do that direly from the sd card?
what can i do now?
the only access i am getting is i guess provided to me by installing (HSPL3 ~ SPL-2.08.HSPL) that boot menu...

Everything what you find and what you seen on youtube is Android runned from windows kernel, from SD card probably.

To the OP. Have you looked in the HD2 specific forum? I'm sure you'll find all you need to know in there.
I know it's difficult trying to pice together all the disparate information that's out there but the best way to learn is to research, and then research some more

Absolute rubbish. Please refrain from posting if you don't know what you're talking about. Both Android and WP7 can replace WM6.5 on the phone, and ARE NOT emulated. Even with Android running from the SD card it IS NOT emulated!!!

The best way to learn is.... to learn! If you're spoon-fed all the answers then you'll just never stop asking. Just take your time reading, and don't rush into flashing anything until you're comfortable with what you're doing.
Well thanks to all (especial not heineken78 i hope you are not 33yrs and screwing people around here ) it is done but my questiions stand... i did it but like most people i dont quite get exactly.. what the hell did i do..
i did a lot of research come on guys i do you exepct me to write such a big thread whithout trying my best to figure it out myself?
im not trying to get spoon feb but come on...
all the instructions are like do this and that.. or radio is for buttons and .... but come on... i relay started this thread to point out that there is not one goood all in one explanation that will explain all aspects... and for any one to gather all this info and put everythin in cronolgical order that makes sense.. he would allready have to know a lot (or have some expirience with this) so i think it is imposible for a newbie to grasp all this from just looking at threads...so many of them and every thread going in some other direction
