Another question, can i change my phone language to arabic language by using copy of Samsung Galaxy s i9000?
Please help
Thanks all
I've been interested in the same thing, as I'm studying Dari prior to deploying to Afghanistan.
I haven't seen much that looked very promising, except that supposedly Froyo will have some support for Arabic. I think I remember reading that it will support the Arabic font, but that the letters won't combine.
Samsung has been working on updating the Froyo release for our Galaxy phones, and I think the update is going out for someplace in Europe by the end of October, the Vibrant should be soon after that.
I don't know about using an I9000 rom on the Vibrant, I think they have different radios. I don't know that it would work correctly...
I also think that Cyanogen supports Arabic, but it isn't out yet for Vibrant, again they're working on it...
Forgot to mention that the one site that I saw that had been showing some promise was here:
https://sites.google.com/a/ut.utm.edu/arabic-android/
The only problem is that it hasn't been worked on in over a year
you may flash a galaxy s rom that supports Arabic, check ce4arab for that.

Hi all...
I've got the vibrant (t-mobile) version of the Samsung galaxy s, which doesn't include locale support for european countries. I want to build a ROM which can use the locale files from a european ROM, and mix it with a vibrant ROM. Which files should I look after?
To be clear: I've tried all the extra locale apk's, and want to build a europe localized ROM with a vibrant base.
Thanks for all answers!!
I'm interested in getting scandinavian language support on my samsung vibrant aswell. Did you get any further regarding this topic?
Try compiling cyanogen. He's got multiple locales in his roms.

Nope, never got so far... switched to Desire Z (the G2) some time ago, so got nordic language now
So did you manage to get the Vibrant to display menus in Norwegian ? I'd like some help to make it display in Swedish (my father's phone).
Can one install a ROM like Macnut R14, or bionix-v, and then update with these XEE CSC's ? What is a CSC anyway ?
Sorry for the noob questions, but I've read for like a week and can't find info on nordic languages ..
Thanks in advance,
Adrian
Nope... like the post above yours says I've switched to the G2...
If CM is available to vibrant it's supporting all langs... or you could flash a rom based on the europe source. hope it helps

Hi,
Which custom ROM for the Vibrant has European languages ?
I'm interested in either Western European pack (Swedish, namely) or the Eastern European pack (Romanian). My international Galaxy S with 2.2 stock has both Swedish and Romanian, so I'm guessing there should be a custom ROM containing more than the 5 default you get with the American stock firmware.
I saw some posts about Macnut that suggest that there are more languages in R13, and read that one of Eugene's ROMs is built on the European firmware for the Galaxy S, but nothing about languages.
Also, could I "dump" or backup the keyboard on my rooted Galaxy S, and install it on the Vibrant, and get the additional languages ?
Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance
Can someone with a Galaxy SII check if there is Chinese in the language list? I've seen videos showing the list of languages but did not see Chinese.
Thanks
Not seen it in European versions might be in Korean .
jje
I have just looked, it's not in the settings screen as "Chinese". The only languages I don't know which they are are in the screenshot. I would like to know the ways you can write it (chinese chars and non-chinese chars) so I can look it up.
There's no chinese in the UK version, but like previously stated it may be available in the Korean version sorry to disappoint
no problem for me as long as i can read and type chinese. i suppose once SGSII is released in asia someone will extract the rom so you can juz flash it over.
They look like Eastern European languages to me.
No Chinese in the Korean Version, my one only has two Language selections for the system, Korean and English. Surprise surprise.
no Chinese here yet
but there's a group do Chinesize now .just wait
Hi all,
Any news re Chinese support for UK version?
Thanks
Hello to all! I've reading the forums for a while 'cause I'm about to receive my new SGS 2 from all-mighty Vodafone in Spain, which is my 1st Android phone ever.
The thing is that, as I've seen that the branded firmware is stuck at KE1 I was thinking to flash it with lite'ning rom 1.3 from the beginning but as I've never used it before I have a couple of question.
a) Does it include Spanish SWYPE support?
b) Can I read/write Japanese characters wit it?
b1) if it can read but I cant write...anyone recommends me a fine Japanese input app?
Thanks!
to bump up the question
is it an uncommon question...? could it be that I posted it on the wrong forum?
please, if that so, step forward and tell me
There is new ROM on samfirmware.com for Samgung Galaxy Ace owners. It's official and European version.
As always, you can check it here
or download directly here

How is it new though? KPT exists since some weeks if I'm not mistaken. And why does it say 2.3.4 when it's actually 2.3.3?
Its the CSC version I guess, but its from S5830XWKPT, which is 2.3.4.
Anyone using this version?
It say Europa but anyone know what languages it is? Swedish? Is it really official or leaked?

OK I see and for what zone is this one?
I still dont know how to read the lettercodes.....making no sense to me even after reading at samfirmware...
I answer it myself..........installed it and it was polish as first language after boot.
XEOKP2 - The XEO is assigned to Poland.
[STOCK] [EUR] S5830XEOKP2 - 2.3.4 official is fake
I tried it.
It is not 2.3.4, just 2.3.3.
It is however a nice release, and got rid of the operator's restriction for me.
It is a European multi language release.
It is working fine so far. The only thing to comment about it is that it comes with a couple of polish apps that are in polish (TV, etc...) But they can be removed installing some tools.
