I had the same problem and after a lot of trial and error I fixed it. What I did was loaded up Odin, but my phone in download mode, and then used Odin to flash this file to my phone which repartioned it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740558
And then after that used Odin again and went back to JDF release and then rooted my phone and then loaded up Clockwork Mod Recovery and then flashed Eugene's Franklin-Touch Wiz Update 3, redid the lag fix and used Odin to flash the best modem.bin and I was all set. I have on purpose bricked my phone at least 5 times and have always been able to recover it

Pit properties is coming up as a window shell comand, Tar opens with unknow app? Not sure if this is my problem or not, I get ODIN to run and complete the steps and end up with the above.
Using Odin V1.3
512.pit
t959UVJI6
did you disable lagfix before you did this? If you didn't have lagfix then I would try to go to stock 2.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
If you had lagfix, its a little more complicated and you may need to use Android SDK. Search for lagfix and flash and the information should pop up.
dont use the .pit file for JI6.. only way I can do JI6 for some reason.
see if that works for you
can you direct me to the files that I need....pda and pit PLEASE...

was completely stock and I just rooted/unlocked. Swithed Sd cards and stuck in boot loop, after booting up again, trying to recover through ODIN, so probably no lagfix

just use the JI6 PDA file that you used..... dont add the 512.pit file to it in ODIN
okay found a solution for now, my issue was related to ROM manager with the SD card, kept getting wrong MD5 Sum!! Really pissed me off about this since I was running through ODIN correctly,
Temporary Solution...
Updated the rom with Eugene froyo!! This brought me out of boot looping and now I have a rom on my phone can use it but no downloading or anything. Try to downgrade to stock rom but not luck.
I had the same problem and had to start over again with JFD and the 512 .pit file. Afterward i went to JI6 through KIES and then used Eugene's Froyo ROM with root and took it from there. I had a weird problem where my drive letters went from e and f, to g and h (that's what they are now). I also had a problem with the CW file on my SD card. I eventually had to move it to the phone in order to flash CW recovery. Flashed and am running Nero V3. Best ROM i've ever used!! Highly recommend.....

[Q] How to fix my brick ?

Hi ! Here is my problem :
When i'm trying to back to stock (2.1) through Odin it said - "PASS!", but when phone reboots - nothing happens, only Samsung Vibrant screen and then Black screen.
Before this i have ROM with Voodoo, that bricks me
PS
Sorry for my English
Sounds like you didn't disable voodoo first...in which case you need to odin eugenes froyo or 2.1 that doesn't brick
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I flashed on Eugene's Foryo that doesn't brick, after "adb reboot" phone goes into usual boot, but after screen is black only buttons LED's on. Is it normal ?
PS
Sorry for my English
yes...you have to go back into d/l mode and odin back to stock or whatever...eugenes froyo is just a stopping point to recover back to stock. its not meant as a daily rom
Here is the sequence to fix :
1. Download Eugenes 'Froyo that does not brick' file.
2. Extract the files.
3. Open Odin, plug in your phone, then put it into download mode.
4. load the PIT file in appropriate area.
5. load the .tar file in the PDA area.
6. DO NOT check 're-partition'.
7. Click start, let it finish. Your phone will load and reboot into stock recovery. It will error out again. DONT panic! This is what's supposed to happen.
8. Now, pull your battery.
9. Load the JFD rom for the vibrant'.
10. Extract the files.
11. Once again, open Odin, plug in your phone, put into download mode.
12. Load the PIT file into the appropriate area and the .tar in the PDA area.
13. THIS TIME you want to check the 're-partition' box.
14. Now click start, let it finish, and this time your phone will load up just fine!
15. Then, root the phone and you can flash your new Rom.
doing this method will get everything back to normal and the phone will work just like it did right out of the box
Good luck~~
it doesn't works for me:
1st - flash eugenes Froyo that doesnt brick ( no repatition )
2nd - flash Stock Rom (T959UVJI6 or JVD) ( With repatition )
and it goes into black screen after Samsung Vibrant
ok ! I flashed - (ROM)[ODIN] Unofficial TMO 2.2 Froyo ODIN *2E Recovery, And my Phone boots normal. But.. the Application Storage is 0.00GB, and Phone Storage is unvailible how can i Fix this ?

YOU GOT IT WRONG ! ! !
ONLY UVJFD IS REPARTITON UVJI6 IS NOT REPARTITION "ITS A ONLY UPDATAE TO UVJFD"
JFD IS THE FILE U NEED TO REPARTITION
DO UVJFD PLUS PIT 512 AND SHOUJLD UNSOFTBRICK YOUR PHONE .(WITH THIS COMBINATION U CAN REPARTITION)

I ve tried both of file ( JI6 and JFD ) with re-partition. And there is no result. Only one Rom doesn't make my phone brick - (ROM)[ODIN] Unofficial TMO 2.2 Froyo ODIN *2E Recovery but the Application Storage is 0.00GB, and Phone Storage is unvailible
now since you got this to work FLASH ANY ROM ETHER STOCK 2.2 OR ANY MODED ROM (FLASH IT IN CLOCKWORK RECOVERY )
XDA WONT let me attach files i would like You to try because the files are too big but just flash any moded rom on top of where you are now .(or moded kernel or moded rom ether one is ok ) best bet is FLASH VOODOO kernel from dev section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870480 , pick one from the link and flash it in clockwork

[Q] How to recover from a possible brick.

I was using odin to flash a rom and I knocked it off my desk and unplugged it in the process. It will still get to the download screen for odin and have tried to odin roms but they fail to install. The error usually is it can not mount or wipe : DATA. I have odin'ed CWM and can boot to that. I have tried every thing I can think of.
Any suggestions?
ouch. you may be able to fix this via heimdall but I'm not sure. have you tried resetting it to factory settings? maybe something with repartitioning? of course, you'll have to do the research.

Try to odin stock froyo with the PIT file and reformat checked. Might try it a few times if it fails the first. I got stuck on the modem once and it never went past that till I restarted it.
links as follows....
2.2 stock froyo (PDA BUTTON ONLY) - http://www1279.megaupload.com/files...d9dd20ca/CI500_VZW_EB01_FROYO_REL.tar.md5.tar
PIT file (PIT BUTTON) - http://download180.mediafire.com/09z19r6ojbwg/26xbh796jmwvwqb/atlas_v2.2.pit
Make sure your "reformat" box it checked.

Failed 4.3 Odin

I downloaded the full 1.7GB N2 MJ9 md5 for odin, after I flashed the phone would just flash NOTE 2 logo over and over.I tried to re-flash it again in odin but it just fails, and now in download mode I see 4.3 stuff.
I keep trying to use odin 3.09 to reflash stock but it fails at NAND WRITE START

Mine did this exact same thing. I later found out that you have to run Odin again and only use a pit file. Basically bring up Odin, put your phone into Odin mode, connect it, on the right hand side of the Odin screen instead of clicking PDA, click PIT. Then point to your file and click start. The file name is sch-I605-16gb.pit. Only thing is that I am unsure where I downloaded it from. There is a video on youtube on that describes exactly how to do this and I think the links to the files are on that video.

the pit file failed, too.
Verizons SUA ended up working with restoring device.
I got the same issue. my phone was rooted with TWRP 2.6.3.2 and flashed to customized MJ9 in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578458&page=14
Later I would like to restore to factory default, so downloaded this firmware http://terafile.co/2146204d7383 and flashed using odin. the flash was successful, however, after it finished, it started to have the exact problem as you described.

Did you take 4.4.2 OTA?
Well have you tried rebooting into stock recovery(UP BUTTON, HOME BUTTON, POWER) and doing a factory reset..then reboot?
You should always flash a image or tar in Odin WITH the pit file..bc if no pit the image could end up anywhere(rare)..
So this is what I would do..
pull battery
un plug phone
reboot into Download Mode
plug phone into different USB port
ODIN see it?
If so good!
Try to reflash WITH pit file

Back to stock

Is there a guide anywhere for that? Can we just flash the odin if we have twrp and a custom rom installed?

I haven't done it myself because I don't have a custom recovery on this device yet but that's exactly how it worked on my S2 which I did custom recovery with. You can just flash in odin the full TAR of whatever stock you want and you'll be just fine, from your custom recovery it's probably a good idea to do a full wipe of everything. I googled "Galaxy S5 to stock" and I found a youtube video where they used Odin 3.09 for it. I'm used to Odin displaying green when the phone is plugged in but this time it was blue and turns out that's just how the newer Odin works. Cheers pal good luck!

Yea I flashed it in Odin and it worked fine. Thanks guys. I wasn't sure which slot to put the one .tar file in so I used AP and it worked with no problems.

Some versions say AP, some say PDA, some just gray out everything but PDA or AP. I've never been able to figure out why they're all different.
