How to use Shadow Ext ROM

hi guys
i have successfully unhid the shadow ext rom. how do i 'use' the files inside? i want to replace the default HTC home icons with the ones created in the ext rom. so how do i replace them? do i need another special software for that?
another thing...when i use a black background for the today screen it comes out as light grey instead,,
why's that so?
using shadow prophet 2.0 te
any help will be appreciated
Have you tried changeing the transparency of your today screen?
In the extROM, you will need to change all the files from read only to normal. I would use total commander CE for this, disable HTC Home first.
hi there
how do i change the transparency?
well... what is the path to ext rom? after unlocking and unhiding...nothing appeared in my prophet...
What ROM are you using? Not all ROMs have an ExtROM (Korands for example)

shadow touch 2.0
What have you used to unlock/unhide the extrom.
If you import the two reg keys attached and then soft reset, the ExtROM should be visible. It will appear in the root of the device as "Extended_ROM2".
Here is a cab to unhide the extended_rom.
after install the cab soft reset the device and you have a folder called Storage
For Shadow roms you have to unlock the extended_rom with the exe file inside the zip.
take this extendedromunlock to the root of the device where you see windows folder and run with fexplorer.
if you want to hide again the extended rom just go to settings/remove programs and unistall the Prophet_ExtRom2Storage.cab and soft reset
that's it

[REQ/Q] Rogers Call Display. How to cook a dll file into a ROM?

Hi all, I'm trying to make Fido Call Display to work on my Device, and I found the solution here. However the solution requires me to cook the rilphone.dll file into the ROM that I'm using (NAFT's v2.3). I've never cooked a ROM before and I'm far from understanding the procedure, but I don't think it's that hard to add a file in a cooked ROM. Can you guys help me out with this?
Please show me how to add/replace rilphone.dll in NAFT's v2.3 ROM. Thank you.

Yes, the reason my method does not work is because the rilphone.dll is not signed with a trusted certificate as I stated..
Pretty much leaves the only option as cooking it in, unless you are already using a ROM with a modified nk.exe in XIP to disable certificate checking.. then you can just drag and drop rilphone.dll and reboot.. but since stock ROMs are not modified in such a way, you cook it in, as all files cooked into ROM are trusted..
Unfortunatly there is no way to modify XIP without cooking either.
If a ROM is unprotected (still has it's rgu's) - download a ROM kitchen for your device.. extract the rom of your choice.. replace rilphone.dll in \OEM\OEMDrivers.. then re-assemble the ROM.. no registry manipulation needed.
For the raphael ROM kitchen, name your ROM "RUU_Signed.nbh", put it in \BaseROM
Run RaphaelKitchen.bat
select "e" for extract, then "a" for "From RUU_Signed.nbh"
let it go through its motions, when it's done replace rilphone.dll in \OEM\OEMDrivers
again in RaphaelKitchen.bat select "cf" then "b"
click "BuildOS" tab
click "Load ROM" button
navigate to RaphaelKitcken folder (has subfolders OEM, ROM, SYS, etc), press ok
click green "Go" button
when done, close the window
again the kitchen will go through some motions, when it pops up XVI32 and says "Page Pool Changer" in the command prompt window simply close xvi32
now it should prompt to flash to your device.. and you're done

Ya, I tried it with NAFT's v2.3, but it seems that the file is protected... the file can't be read.
I'm not sure I understand, you tried to cook the file into ROM and it gave you an error about it being protected? Or do you mean you tried to copy the file to the device, and it wouldn't let you overwrite? If that's the case that's why I suggest renaming rilphone.dll to rilphone2.dll before you copy to device, and then change the registry to point to that.. that way you don't have to overwrite the file that's already on the device.

i tried what you told me to do on the other post; Rename the file, and extract it... I have no problem renaming the file, but when I tried to extract it with Raphael Kitchen, I got error like "Cannot read the file" or something like that... here is the dump log
ImgfsToDump 2.1rc2
Cannot map file imgfs.bin

Nothing was extract.
hmm, sounds like the ROM kitchen is having a problem handing the .nbh you fed it, try it with a stock nbh and see if it works..
the rom you are trying to extract may be protected from extraction.
Just to make sure, you are trying to extract the ruu_shipped.nbh in \baserom.. which is the ROM image, somewhere in the range of 50 to 200mb large..

I redownload the Rom and it seems to work now. I can finally extract it.
As for the rilphone.dll... do you have the right one for Rogers Display? and the one that will work for Fido as well?
edit: I successfully reflashed my ROM, but the display thing doesn't work. Beside replacing rilphone.dll is there any reg I need to change? (can you give me the right rilphone.dll file?
I got the rilphone.dll file here
Sucessfully cooked in NaFT's v3.1, however it still doesn't work. It always show unknown Caller.
any help here would be much appreciated

Who konw how to add the icon movement ability in the Start menu ?

Who konw how to add the icon movement ability in the Start menu ? Just like the EngeryROM
I have 23016 and 21932, Who can help me? What should I do with these 2 kitchens.
in my view,
use
shell32.exe
cplmain.cpl
commctrl.dll
from 21932 replace those in 23016???
I am a freshman , and English is also poor. Sorry !
All that is needed to have the drag n' drop start menu is the Shell32.exe file. I've used the Shell.exe from build 21928 and it seems to work pretty well. I think you have to actually over write the files in the 23016 kitchen and cook it in, but some have reported they've gained the ability by simply copying it to the \Windows directory on their phones.

Ehh; ok.
What do you mean with "was able to change the sequence of my icons by holding them and dragging them"
Do you mean this in the home screen??
In case of yes, this is possible in the latest stock Rom 3.14; ore when you used CHT. Of course beside Artemis rom there are other cooked rom who have build this in. (No there isn't a cab file present, as long I know)
If you mean to have the option drag and move in your start menu; each WM6.5.X have this possibility. and no this isn't possible on a WM 6.5
Creating folders in start menu is easy.
Open your explorer, navigate to: \Windows\StartMenu\Programs\
There you can add folders and shortcuts.
umm bro u thanks for everything it was rly helpfull! however u didnt understand what i ment by dragging the thing in start menu, ive seen a cab before but i dont have the link here.. its just another way for re arranging ur icons
winmo 6.5 you can only move start items to the top, winmo 6.5.x you can drag them around. There is no cab to enable it on 6.5 roms.

How Do I Install a Custom Taskbar?

i got a locked hd2 WM 6.5 thats never been modded. i found a taskbar theme that i want to install. how do i install it this taskbar?
How do i also install a custom dialer pad?
Tweaks and mods usually come as a cab - this is a self extracting installation file which you copy to your phone, double click, restart, done.
There is a protection built into the system, especially for the taskbar, you need to install a certification file first - as seen in this thread.

hi, tictac0566. i downloaded the certificate .cab and its on my sd card. but where do i open it on my phone?
It depends, of course, where you stored the cab. Maybe search it with the file explorer, double tap on it, there you go.

certification file is required for few applications which are protected otherwise they won't work. This will not affect the battery life but make sure you install appropriate taskbar as per your ROM build, i.e. 6.5 or 6.5.X. otherwise you may have to hard reset your phone.

sdkcert .cab will work but make sure you download the taskbar for 6.5 only, if you download it for 6.5.X then it will not work and you have to hardreset. Given below are few taskbar threads,
