Hello,
I just added some .vin files to update a music folders album art on my storage card. The phone locked up and will lockup ever time I select the Sense Music Player after a soft reset. It was working fine before. I have taken the newly added files off the storage card but still having the same issue. I'm really hoping I do not have to do a hard reset as the phone seems fine until I select the music player. I just got everything put back together from a hard reset over the weekend... Please help!
Thanks
I got no replies on this but figured it out shorty after posting
If you run into this issue, delete the file called AudioManager_Eng located in My Device\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng. I hope this can help someone else.

Do a file explorer check for a .nomedia file . A friend of mine purchased a rooted phone that had the file and it hid his media from the music player and the gallery.
i also i think its a titanium back up,i installed fresh new apps, its runing well now,but who knows
Hey guys i have the I9300 international version, I recently synced some more music through windows media player on to it but for some reason the stock player/winamp won't recognize the files. The folder comes up in the players but simply has no files in it, this is the first time this has happened and I've tried redoing it/clearing data but still nothing has fixed it.
any help with this?
no help on this issue? just some further information about the phone, its completely stock. Never been rooted or flashed, just start out of the box.

might try clearing your delvic cache and cache through recovery...
Hi all,
I added some music files to my external Sd card, unfortunately a couple of folders were incorrectly named... I renamed them but now both the stock player and Google Play continues to show the incorrect, old folder names as the album names, which is pretty annoying.
I am on a rooted device, I already tried to delete Google Play's database but on the next reboot it was rebuilt identical to before.
There is any manner to have mediaserver's database rebuilt from scratch? I already tryed to stop it then start it again... Nil. Have I to delete the database to have it completely rebuilt? Lol, I can't even locate it on the filesystem. Despite this I can't think any other solution to solve but I'm open to any suggestions, tia.

Try to delete the data and cache of the Stock player and Google Music and afterwards if you start those Apps it should be as if you would start them the first time, so they would check your folders for music again.

Don't think it works that way... Whose apps don't scans folders, they take all infos about media from the mediaservice server. I tried what you said with Music Player and it didn't work, I didn't even try with Google Music 'cos that app has 250Mb+ of data (!) so I suppose that' s all of my music
What puzzles me is that I found a database with the index of all my music on extSdCard, it is under /data/data/com.android.providers.media/databases/external.db (you can view the contents with root explorer), I deleted it after a backup, reboot and... Nothing, the database was recreated exactly identical to before. It was not the right database evidently... Again.
What the hell, that mediaservice's database is well hidden!
Someone can help, please?
You can try the Rescan Media ROOT App but if that won't work I have no idea.

Update (if someone else need it)
Android Media Tracker has issues on Samsung phones when it encounter a broken mp3 file. Solved using the app MP3Dit, which is not only an ID3Tag editor but it is capable to connect directly to the service and adjust things there also.
Five months to solve this s**t!
HELP PLEASE!!! YESTERDAY I PUT SOME MUSIC ON MY PHONE AND THEN I TRIED TO PLAY IT BUT THE MUSIC PLAYER IS NOT WORKING AT ALL, I WENT TO GALERY AND ITS NOT LOADING PROPERLY NOT LETTING ME ACCES TO THE VIDEOS AND PHOTOS, I TURN OFF THE PHONE AND THEN TURN ON AND NOTHING, ALSO Y CHECK THE SD CARD STATUS AND UPDATED AND NOTHING, PLEASE HELP I DONT KNOW IF ITS A VIRUS OR WHAT THANK YOU!!!
:crying:
Also i tried to go to archives, open the sd card archives and try to play the music selecting the song, but its not responding at all
Help! LOL! ok...it all started with a damaged sd card. I removed it; I copied my phones files onto my computer. Next I decided to do a factory reset. It seemed to be going ok, until I hit the Use Google screen. It looks like my font is too big so I cannot scroll down to hit next. I was able to set the time zone and clock and etc. EVEN the wifi was set. Is there some way to use the computer to do a factory reset on my player. My phone was rooted before and I deleted some apps. Is there some way to fix this? Oh...and I can get into download mode. ???? I would like to flash a custom rom, too. But that can wait. Thank you so much for your help.
