Edge Creating Problems - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am having Xperia X10i 026version actually i have vodafone as my network operator . Here the have a policy that edge can only be used through browser therefore none of my applications,widgets or market work even though my edge is connected. please help me if there is any procedure to make my apps work through edge !!!! help needed!!

Debrand the phone and see if that helps.

Its already debanded I have purchased it from sony using vodafone sim card ..!

You actually need to google the correct internet settings for the phone. I used to have that problem with Rogers; the 3g connection did not let my applications use the internet, and I fixed it by using different settings to connect.

I restored ma fone to the blue spark rom ,, and it works fine except for the service part .. as i get no signal as if my simcard doesn't work.. while i am sure itself is working,, I tried different roms before and this is the first time i encounter such an issue,, can you plz help?
Btw my service operator is Etisalat - Egypt
I had to use wifi to download the service settings but after that all is ok.

Well I can download service setting as in APN setting for sata transfere ,, but the fone can't detect the network itself !!
am using custom rom 2.1 ASOP nexus one for a while now but i hate no camera or no dual touch
so any ideas what might be wrong,, or how do i download the service settings as in detecting the network itself ?

[Q] can we use both 3g and edge connection of same operator

I have Samsung galaxy ace ...i already have activated Edge Connection on my cell...but now i m fed up of speed i get from Edge connection..so i was planning to take 3g connection of Same operator (Bsnl)
But problem is i dont want to use 3g for whole day..bcozz i need it just for video calling..other daily surfing like Facebook,gmail etc.. i want to do with my same operator but with Edge connection..
So all i want to know is how to Switch between Edge and 3g connection according to my need!!! plzz i m new to android so a detail Explanation in Steps will be very helpfull...
In wifi settings > mobile networks, toggle "only use 2g networks" on or off to your needs.

U can't do a video call from Ace no secondary cam!

no solution- just some 2g-edge/3g switch widget- i use widgetsoid from market (free) to switch on 3g whenever needed. there are auto switches,like one in juice defender,but work only with certain roms e.g. cyanogen which hasn't been released for ace thus far.

[Q] Problem with wifi

i have a weird problem regarding wifi.....
when i scan i get all wifi networks available but not the one which i routed in my laptop in windows 7, but same routed network i get in another cell STAR II..
How can i sort this problem?
Anyone please help me regarding this...

I have a similar problem on my ace.
When I connect wifi and I try to watch a video on YouTube for example, It says that there is a problem with the network..
But if I then use google maps, it works pretty good.. Wifi only works with Google map in my ACE..

[PROBLEM] No data in Xperia Mini Pro

Hello,
i have a Xperia Mini Pro SK17i, buyed to Vodafone but i unlocked to use Simyo (Spain).
I have the following problem:
When the phone restart i have data in GPRS or 3G, no problem at this, but in few hours/minutes the internet connection dissapears and the G or 3G icon too but i have signal. I have tested the sim card in other Android Phone and works OK.
All options are the same in the two phones but in Xperia Mini Pro not works. I have not installed any application that controls the data connection.
Any ideas?

Hi, i recently bought xperia mini pro. And i am using vodafone sim(india). There is no problems in my phone in beginning. and now i am having gprs problem. The "e"(gprs) will disappear while i am browsing in lap, by this loading pages shows loading only for even hours. the connection will come within secounds, but again will disappear. Huge problems,... very irritating while broswing.
What you do with this phone when you have this problem.

Finally, i could not solve the problem, I migrated to another carrier and the problem was fixed. I think this phone has any problem with that carrier.

Yes, but, as the problem was randomly in the time, sometime works for hours and other time for 2 days, when i test another sim card whit same carrrier, the test was only few minutes.
Try with another sim card of different carrier.

Ok. Thats good. Pro is working with another carrier means, i should change immediately.

had the same problem
My gf's phone had the same issue, we eventually had our carrier (Claro- Colombia) replace the SIM card and everything has worked fine since (about a week). Will report if there's any change. She is using stock 2.3.4 ROM and Kernel.
It could be due to unlocked method, but not sure
I will respect to you, if you can respect to the other rest.
Sounds like you may have WAP settings instead of Internet settings. To check this please do the following:
Main menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names >
What you should have here is generally your networks name followed by the work 'Internet" whilst WAP settings are more along the lines of Vodafone Live etc.
To confirm that you have internet and not WAP settings in this location you are best to check directly with your network provider.

Setup my internet connection

Today I've got my Gear S. After I inserted the SIM card in to it, I've tried to set-up the internet connection, but when I jump in to the Access point names, I can't add a new one. The menu is empty and I can' set-up anything. The mobile internet provider doesn't care about my problem, because they say they do not use Tizen OS and therefore don't offer any suggestions or help.
Please anyone can help me?

Have you updated your watch to the latest firmware/software also update the Gear manager to the latest
@Uniquebarbee: Tks for your interest about my problem! Finally I did it... I made the update for the OS and now I can add a new APN. Off course, the update doesn't resolve all my issues with the watch, but is good to know that I didn't throw away 400 Euro.
My real problem now, is that I don't have a device compatible with the watch (I did the update with a borrowed S5) to make all the tuning that is necessary... in fact I've got a Samsung galaxy note 10.1(2012) tablet and I was hoping to synchronize, but unfortunately it can not install the manager.
I can't understand why a lot of setting require a bluetooth connection, instead to use the wi-fi connection or better, the 3G on the SIM. The watch is not as independent as I thought and now I have to dig on internet to find how can I use it on full capacity.
