I've downloaded and applied a few themes from this thread (applied via cm7 Theme Chooser), but for some reason the themes only change the phone's appearance partially. In the screenshots for example, you've got a new lockscreen, the market is different and the main dock is a different colour. But when I apply these themes, none of those change, nor do I know how to change them. No option to do so in the settings of ADW nor CM7 menu...

you should look thru the post the lock screen changes are usually zip files and wont work cause they are mdpi and i think we are hdpi you can reaserch it im pretty sure but i could be wrong thats also why the rest of the themes dont work if you want to ask you should ask the thread you pulled the themes from
Try to make a reboot after aplying a theme. Mine are all working great.

No, I think our device is mdpi, because hdpi themes don't work. I also tried to reboot but it didn't help... I dunno...
Eh...
- first of all, reboot is required after changing themes, unless you use Notification Restart app
- second, this device is MDPI obviously, Google it
- additional mods, such as the lockscreen, do require patching of framework via MetaMorph or ZipThemer. This can only be done on deodexed ROMs. mik's ROM is not deodexed by default, you need to deodex and reflash it yourself.

1. I use notification restart app.
2. Isn't that what I just said?
2. I didn't know that, but I have already used MetaMorph to change the lockscreen.

Well, that obviously will not work correctly, as explained. Best case it will bail out, worst case it will mess up the files.
P.S. I sincerely do NOT advise to use the MetaMorph app, since it does not backup anything, and the way it patches and "reboots" the device is just a nice WTF. ZipThemer is way safer and way more controllable.

Well as I understand it only messes with the lockscreen files, so even if someone manages to mess everything up with it, it's easy to fix.
But thanks, I'll try ZipThemer instead

It can mess up anything from framework-res.apk to SystemUI.apk to Phone.apk to overwriting your system fonts (big thumbs down to Android font "management") and even more - all depending on the scope of customization done in the mod.
ZipThemer:
1/ Shows you exactly which files will be modified.
2/ Makes a flashable backup of them.
3/ Makes a flashable ZIP for the mod.
4/ Does not half-reboot your device, making you wonder WTH is going on.
Hi there,
I'm using Trigger Redux on my Vibrant, but this question applies to pretty much any ROM. I've searched the forum but couldn't find a good answer:
I have a ton of stock ringtones; I don't like, use or want many of them. How can I remove them?
I found Ring Commander on the market and that's one option, but is there a way to do it without buying and installing a dedicated app?
Thanks.
root explorer
system > media > audio > ringtones
delete the 1's you dont want then reboot
Thank you! (I also clicked the button )
One question though: When I install a new version of CM (or Trigger), it will just put all the crap ringtones back in, right?

you could delete them out of the zip (same place as you delete from root explorer) before you flash it
I see... Maybe Ringtone Commander would be the least-hassle way to do this after all.

probably easier to delete them before you flash a new 1 actually, can highlight the 1's to delete then just delete them
never heard of that thing and dont know what it does but might be easier with that after flashing
Hello. I have created an app to customize any blur based rom. You can easily switch between blur and aosp based apps. It also features the ability to back up apps to your sdcard, and remove bloatware. The blur switcher portion will not work on roms such as cyanogenmod 7, 9, or other 2nd int roms. I can not be held responsible for any destruction caused to your device by this app. Install as you would any other app. You may need to allow non market applications. Enjoy, and leave your comments bellow::laugh:
P.S. This app has no form of advertising, and make sure wifi/data and your sdcard are functioning properly. This app will most likely work on the dx/d2, but is untested.:good:

I can't believe I did that The link should work now though.
this seems to be root controlled for the "stock" items, yes?
The only reason I am asking is because I have my SU where
it never asks for permission with no log.

Yes, the app does require root permissions. The aosp apps are moved to /system.
Hope it's ok to make this separate topic as I have asked these questions in the rom specific thread (Omega), but it seems the posts just get lost or not viewed due to the huge amount of posts that go in that topic each day and I've not had a reply.
No.1 - Recently updated to Omega v42.1 having come from Paranoid Android and noticed that even though Omega has the mod to skip songs using the vol up & down buttons, these don't work with the Spotify app, nor is there anything on the lockscreen to skip tracks, I therefore have to unlock the phone, go into the Spotify app and then skip through that which is a PITA. Is it possible to change this?
No.2 - When using the Facebook app, when I click on a link it opens in the crap basic internet browser. It doesn't ask what program to open with even though I've cleared the cache and there aren't any defaults in the Facebook or Internet app. Just want the pages to open in Chrome?
No.3 - Themes. I'm new to messing around with themes and put Motomoto00 on and really liking it other than the fact that only a few icons are themed. Is it alot of work to theme all other icons? On the guide it says to :
*use the next steps to get theme work with Play Store apps:
- backup app using TitaniumBackup
- restore latest backup
- convert app to system app
- flash theme
Not sure how to go about this and sounds like it may be quite a time consuming thing to do?
Hope anyone could offer some advice. Thanks.:fingers-crossed:
regarding 2 - you don't have to clear cache from the stock browser just clear defaults from stock browser
1. no
2. read above
3. don't ask questions if you don't want to follow the instructions

I've already cleared defaults. Both Facebook and Internet don't have any defaults set now yet still not given an option to choose which program to open links with?

Backup app using TitaniumBackup - Ok. So you have to do one app at a time?
Restore latest backup - So once all apps are backed up, can restore from this?
Convert app to system app - No idea what this means and do you have to convert one app at a time and is it time consuming?
Flash theme - Easy enough
I'll gladly follow instructions but I don't get what was posted and is very vague for someone like myself who has never done any themes before - Hence my question

Introduction:
As we all know, the A2017U, and G come bundled with a few themes and that's it. Well, the Axon 7, Chinese variant, not only includes more, but also a theme store that you can download from. This thread contains packages from the Chinese ROM that will enable your phone to use the theme store with a small caveat--you have to register for a ZTE Account (more on that below) and log in to it in order to download themes. ZTE's theme engine is pretty basic and doesn't really allow for much customization, but anything is a welcome addition to what we currently have.
What ZTE's theme solution does:
-Changes Icons
-Changes wallpaper
-Basic color schemes for settings, and some ZTE apps
-Changes Lockscreen appearance
Procedure
First, you'll need to register an account here. It is all in Chinese, so I would suggest using Google Translate so that you can understand what you're doing. You'll need to click the "email registered" tab because registering with your phone number will not work. Once you have registered and validated your account, you can use it to log in to the theme store on your phone and begin downloading themes.
Current issues
ZTE's dynamic lock screen doesn't allow you to swipe to unlock your phone when you have notifications and they're visible. What you'll need to do is to tap the "bell" icon to hide your notifications in order to swipe to unlock. Fingerprints bypass this. I'm sure someone talented can decompile the two lock screen apps and figure out how to change this. I won't be doing it.
Download: ZTE-A2017-ThemeStoreMOD-by-freeza_DrakenFX
This flashable will include the following:
ZTE Account
Theme Store
Lock Screen Framework
ZTE Lock Now
app permissions whitelist so these apps should automatically be granted the proper permissions
Thanks
DrakenFX for being awesome, giving me the idea to try this, and giving me the ZTE Account registration link.
Great work! I know this a stretch but wondering if this works on LOS or RR?
EDIT: Finally tried it on RR. It didn't work. Guess it's only for stock atm.
So this way you can get the stock theme on the European model?

I guess there isn't a stock theme in there, but maybe there is. Could someone confirm?
All I want is a ZIP that gives me a dark theme for apps like Settings. I don't really want to install all this just to get access to a theme store that may or may not have a dark theme. If anybody spots one in there and can make a ZIP out of it, I'll be eternally grateful.
Sorry for the noob question, but how do I install this?
@freeza, is this a lock screen, could you share the theme name to download.
@freeza it's ok on A2017U 7.0, but seem not work well on A2017U 7.1.1 .
@freeza
How to flash this on stock 7.1.1
with twrp as mount system as read only??
Or
With stock recovery
Should i need root or not
Also should i disable system write protection
I flashed this once in twrp as mount system as read-only but after flashing device stay in in the warning screen like forever

Easy, boot to TWRP and flash zip file = DONE.
then proceed with ZTE account creation

Were you rooted? or which variant are you? IF you can give a little more info, it wont be so hard to help
I registered with email, but logging in, in the app, only allows logging in with a phone number. What?
Edit: Nevermind, tapping "others" in the bottom left allows logging in by email.
Edit 2: And am I just doing something wrong, or do the icon packs not work? I thought it might just be an issue with Nova Launcher, but the icon themes don't seem to work on the stock launcher either.
Edit 3: I just noticed there's an app called Screen Lock installed now (which does exactly what it's name says) did that come as a part of this installer?

Nope,
After I applied the theme
- Lockscreen is applied for a few second, then be replace again by stock android lockscreen (not ZTE lockscreen)
- The quick setting panel not change color follow the theme, even the setting did

Is there a way to uninstall after flashing? I only installed it to see if I could figure out where the image for the clear view background (for axon 7 clearview windowed case) is stored. It didn't help me figure it out, so I was wondering if I can uninstall it. Thanks.

There's other ways, Im just not sure what's in the zip. You can check what's in the zip, what gets flashed to your system and then use root explorer or something similar to manually delete the apk/files that were flashed. Be careful though. Definitely backup before you do that.
