Force minimizing keyboard - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to minimize the keyboard if you dont want to use it?
i find it very annoying when it pops up uninvited and i cant get it to go down
i know that in android you can just hold the menu button to toggle it on and off, is there a way to do this on WM?
Thanks!

[Q] Disable the button to change keyboards.

Alright, I HATE Swype, and basically all keyboards under WinMo except for the default full QWERTY. I hit the stupid keyboard open/close button ALL THE TIME when trying to hit the space bar, and I am tired of it. Is there any way to completely remove or otherwise disable this button? Thanks to anyone who can help.
I too am very frustrated when I just want to hide the keyboard and instead a popup appears to choose form other keyboard types :-/
Is it possible to only use the QWERTY keyboard without any other to choose from?
Or Just assign only show/hide keyboard function to that button...
I got used to touch the button on the left side, but anyway I would love to disable this feature as well.

[Q] Any Way to Press Power Button Twice to Turn On?

I hate using the slider to unlock the phone, and the fingerprint reader is nice but can miss sometimes. I'd rather just be able to push the power button twice to wake & go to Home (just like pressing Menu twice on the G1 to wake).
Does anyone know of a way to do this? Are there any programs that can get rid of the slider screen?
Search for a program called NO LOCK in the market. I don't like having to swipe to unlock either...
That's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks
Awesome! Glad I could help.

[Q] How to force soft keyboard?

Is there another way to force the soft keyboard other than a long press on the menu button? There is one particular application I want to use, but the long press isn't bringing anything up in this particular application. Could I set my search key to always bring up the soft keyboard? Thanks!

Rotate Screen display with click of a button

Hi There
does anyone know of an app that i can put a shortcut on my desktop and when i click it, it changes the screen orientation
i know the phone will automatically do it dependent of the position of the phone, but i want to be able to press a shortcut / widget and it then changes it to landscape / portrait
thanks
There is something similar called Rotation Locker (You can search for it in this very forum)
It can be remapped to Search key long press, so you can just hold down the search key and the thing will pop up.
You can also place the app icon to the homescreen from the app drawer, it will have the same function as the long press search key way.
EDIT: Oh and it will force apps into Portrait/Landscape, so even the apps that don't allow landscape will be in landscape.
just what im looking for....thank you very much

[Q] Q: muti tasking button replace menu button?

Dear Developers,
I got a quick question:
is it possible to change the function of the menu button to the muti tasking function instead?
if so is it possible to be a APK file format and installation for it to work on a stock phone?
if no, then i guess it has to be rooted? if thats the case, does that mean most applications will lose the menu button? cant be the same as the Nexus phone where all applications has a on screen menu button?
OR just do a swap between the two functions? holding down the home key gives the menu function whereas the menu function gives the muti tasking function.
thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
E
It's possible, but I don't know how the menu button will show up then, and having that ugly HTC-esque navbar with one button is not the way it should be...
sorry, it i just me or anyone else finds the menu button pretty useless.
holding down the home button to bring the multi tasking up is too slow in my opinion.
would be great if someone can just switch the two functions of menu and multi.
thanks tho

Click to collapse
I dont find is useless.
What i find useless is you can get the same menu just by pressing on your homescreens or longpress there, so 3 ways to get that menu up.
On the matter on what button brings up the task manager, i really dont care. After a few days i got used to it being behind the home button.
