I started my own tech blog for fun, basically just linking to recent rumours about tablets and mobile phones that I find interesting, and posting some information about phones available for wind mobile. I also want to put info up about the LG Optimus T and how to root/install roms. Basically I just want to give a very quick overview and then link to various threads on these forums that show how to do it and provide the files.
Is this OK? I'm not going to copy any content from these forums, just provide links here.
This is the blog in question.

PS feel free to click an ad if you are feeling generous.
I'm looking to learn basic java/xml with the hopes of eventually editing/creating ROMs for my TB. I've got a bunch of sites bookmarked off Google, but I'm just looking to cross-reference the sites I have with sites you guys may know of. So if you're aware of any thorough java or xml tutorials, I'd really appreciate links! I'm thinking you probably can't post them in the thread as per the XDA rules, but my message box is open!
I could not find an answer to this by searching the forums. I tried.
And I know this is going to be embarrassing but......
When reading Tweets from xda dev: when I get to the comment section after the article: all the comments have only the header of the column and not the actual member's written comments.
I know this must be an easy fix but I'm just not thinking outside the box.
Thanks in advance.

Although this question was never answered I think I might have found the answer on my own: if anyone else runs into this issue.
The comments in the Twitter posts are now visible. I am going to assume (although I am not sure) that you must be subscribed to XDA on Twitter for a specific period of time before you are able to view member's replies.

I happened to like that thread. What happened to it? It was invaluable to me when I was looking for accessories.
I wondered the same thing. It was useful. Maybe too hard to keep up with it.
It was closed down.
I reported it because the OP was sneaking in his Amazon affiliate links.
Whenever someone purchases something through his links, he gets paid a commission.
This is sneaky business. He's not trying to help us, he's trying to make money. XDA is a community forum, not a means to make money.
Apparently, the OP of that thread has several similar threads all over this forum. He was monetizing XDA and we did not even know about it. Surprisingly, the mods of the forum did not notice it either. I did because I am a mod of a huge forum as well and this type of sneaky advertising is a common tactic spammers and abusive users use.
From Forum Rules:
13. Advertising and Income Generation
Commercial advertising, advertising referral links, pay per click links and other income generating methods are forbidden. Do not use xda-developers as a means to make money.
The OP of that post surely dislikes me then. I ordered several things from things he & others posted, but I would look at the item, get the model #, then search eBay and other places to see if i could find better deals, shipping, etc. He / She made no money from me, but I did appreciate the suggestion

Ah, that's too bad then. Well, hopefully we'll get another one going in time.
Posting links is fine as long as the links are "affiliate-free."
was he banned?
