Hi, I remember with some previous Android phones, you could download the update.zip from the web and manually update the phone without having to wait for the OTA. Is there a way to do this with the Vibrant without Odin'ing the files we've had for a little while?
No questions in the DEV section, moved to Q&A
If you're referring to the "official" OTA, no one has dumpped it as of yet.

I have the leaked 2.1 update on my eris. Will I be able to upgrade to the official 2.1 firmware when it comes out, or am I stuck with the leak now forever?
I cant say this enough use the search forum feature you can find your answer without posting unnecessary threads. Thanks!
I just unrooted and am on the 2.1 OTA ROM but not the MR4 how can I do this without wiping my phone
Seriously, the dev forum does not need 20 topics full of your individual problems. :/
I think this might be a better place for you to post:

If I apply Axura ROM now, when the T-Mobile official Android 2.2 is released, will I be able to update my phone with the official ROM from T-Mobile?
when the official ROM drops, somebody here will almost certainly find an ODIN flashable version of it, which is quite honestly, the best way to apply any rom update.
Or there will be a flashable version for clockwork.
Or you could Odin/CW back to stock JI6 & get the OTA yourself.
Many ways to get the new hotness.

Update 2.3.6 is out and I have not updated yet due to this question...
If I update will I lose my root? I am rooted but running the stock rom.
Thanks and Peace!!!
I'll let you know in a few minutes. It's currently downloading 20MB over WiFi. Hold tight.
Update: No, you won't lose root.
Now, I'm not sure what is updated. I'm sure someone will chime in as to what 2.3.6 has over the previous version. I don't have time to dig through the massive amounts of threads.
There are already two separate threads in General on this very subject.

We dont need a third thread on the same subject. Thread closed.
I have searched everywhere to find out how to stop kies telling me my phone cannot be upgraded. I have also read that this is due to me having installed a custom rom at one point and wanted to know how to revert to a completely stock factory shipped version so I can then update my phone via kies.
I have checked most threads and they all link to the thread with the list of custom roms, but as a newbie to this that doesn't help. What rom version do I need to be able to update via kies. My phone was bought unlocked from Phones4You.
All the info is there.. Any questions ask in the thread of subject.
