In the android dev section, there is a thread about debian running on the xperia x10. I wonder, can we boot android 2.2 the same method they booted debian on the xperia x10??
I don't wanna start a stupid fight about android and bootloader, and devs working on cracking the bootloader. blbalbabla
I just want the freaking answer and NO dont tell me some stupid jokes cuz i wont like them
no answer?
Don't blame me if I'm totally wrong, I have absolutely no experience in developing, but I think the method to run Debian doesn't touch the kernel or the bootloader, what you have to do to run Froyo. Also i think, you cannot use the phone functions, BT or Wifi with Debian. Right?
Lol i have no idea thats why im asking lol

Or build a winmo emulator and run haret.exe and go go go

Now we have root for the X10 mini is it possible to install Android 2.2? I know people used to go on about hacking the bootloader with the old root methods, but do any of these new root methods pave the way to a custom Android 2.2 build being made? If so how far away are we from seeing this? Sorry if my question sounds basic but I know very little about this form of hacking. What about setting up another bounty to encourage developers to build a custom 2.2 ROM? For me Android 2.2 has some really nice features like native support for wifi tethering.
No man, you always need bootloader to run unsigned or custom images.
A.k.a a CUSTOM ROM
Just wait a lil the x10 bootloader is almost cracked and it should be ported (our at least port-able)
That is unless the geniuses working solely on the x10e don't get it first
Well i unlocked my android , for att, then did everything you guys said, got the radio 2.12 ,hardspl 2.0.8., and for some reason when i launch haret it goes to a page on my phone where it says something like bind sock and wont respond to haret or anything i got the rom on there but no android what did i do wrong??
Did you copy Android to your SDCard?
Its usefull to read the post of the Android install your using, mostly all things what you need to do to get it working is posted there. Including all problems and er sollutions that people experienced while using it.

Hi all ive had my x10 for 6 months and experiencing a few problems.
The phone is very slow, the touch screen doesn't react great and messaging is awful slow.
I cannot install flash for it, for example I wanted to install sky sports news and watch it on my phone but it said i need flash, i tried to install it and it says doesn't support it.
Im running Android 2.1. Also, can we get froyo or gingerbread on this phone?
Thank you.

Upgrade it to gingerbread 2.3.3 for x10, either by SEUS (depending on your provider) or via flash tool in the development forum. Or a custom GB rom of the many right in the development forum.
ok her is my question. my xperia is running on z's beta4 2.2.1. bootloader unlocked. i am wanting to flash a new kernel without having to update my rom and bb. (to answer your question why) i am running ubuntu my vbox wont let me install my win emulator)
So how can i get a kernel thats bootloader unlocked capable with bb .54?
I would give this a bump, however i just sold my xperia.
Hello all!
I'm considering buying the SE Live Walkman phone, but just wondered if there are many custom ROMS available for it yet?
I have had a search but have only found threads based on rooting, and I noticed there isnt really a dedicated forum for it...
I am currently using Xperia X8 which came with 2.1 (stock), but I'm now running an almost perfect 2.3.7 ROM 'GingerDX' (Thanks to the MASTER Developer Doixanh)
It may sound funny but I will only get this phone if I can unlock/root/hack and flash the hell out of it. If no one is really focused on developing for this phone then I'll probably give it a miss.
Any respone would be greatful. Thanks

I have wt19 i have not rooted it or not done anything new in it. Since i am new to android might be i am afraid. But since ur main dedication is towards the rooting and custom rom. U can easily do that on SE devices since SE is itself supporting the open source world. There is boot unlocking method on there official site.
Also i think the CM has also been realsed for the wt19.

I was slightly weary about rooting and stuff at first but now I have a rooted X8 with custom kernel and it was surprisingly easy and haven't had anything go wrong.(maybe a few scares but nothing that couldn't be fixed) but now I'm looking for a cheap android with better processor plus I seen that the Live maybe also getting an official ICS update which is cool.
I think I will get this phone sometime soon.
thanks for replies
