Hey all,
This is a black notification bar for Dj Steves froyo 1.0 only and blue wifi icon as the stock is black. Will need root and root explorer or alt file explorer.
1. Download notificationbar1.0.zip.
2. Extract services.jar and framework-res.apk from zip to SDCARD.
3. Backup current framework-res.apk and services.jar in /system/framework.
4. Mount /system/framework as RW, and copy services.jar then framework-res.apk from step 2 into the folder.
5. After file copies, phone will reboot and you will have black notification bar and new wifi icons and white text!
To restore old services.jar and framework-res.apk, simply perform same steps except copy over the backed up files.

Hey all,

Its a matter of editing services.jar and right now any edits I've made causes my streak to lock on Dell boot screen.
1. Download notificationbar.zip.
2. Extract framework-res.apk from zip to SDCARD.
3. Backup current framework-res.apk in /system/framework.

Just a quick question! How did you made the AWD's Dockbar and the icons in it so big??

I actually switched to Launcher pro. Lot more options and I like the interface alot more than AWD.
The other part is changing density on the screen back to 160. This is in the build.prop and need to change the line ro.sf.lcd_density=160.
Nice work mate keep it going
Ok as promised I have added white font to the notification bar. Right now when you receive a text or plugin usb the message is in black font. I set it to white but some other file is overriding. I'll post another update when I have it settled.
I'm going to try this now, thanks.

Great little mod but ive figured out that it stops flash from working in the browse for some reason. Reverted back and all fine. Would love it if flash worked too

I am running the first update-new, old base band. The thing is though, the two files should have no effect on flash. Tonight I am going to be installing the update-newv2 and will see what difference that makes. DJ_Steve has not added flash into the rom nor has he modified either framework-res.apk or services.jar.
So in your words "just says install latest flash" and did you install flash again? Is it throwing an error when trying to reinstall flash?
i get a link to install flaelsh instead of the flash animation. I click it and it redirects me to the market place where strangely i have to log back into my google.mail. Then it just shows uninstall so i do that then reinstall it and still no flash.
Didnt think those files would effect flash until someone mentioned the same problem, both of us reverted back to the original files and everything ok again.
Have noticed after first boot when changing files all my widgets dont work straight away and orignal wallpaper etc is back. Also have to log back into google.mail sync etc.
Will have another go and reboot a few times to makes sure because i really like this mod
Edit: working now, rebooted after uninstall and bebooted after reinstall, great mod just need the bottom menu in black now to finish it off. Cheers for the help

I was poking around in there for based off another thread but this is the thread i am looking for thanks!
Also I was able to recreate the flash problem after updating to v2. It seems on Steve's new v2 that once reinstalled flash still dont work. So this problem only affects those on the new v2, anyone using the first update-new should be ok to reinstall flash and continue streaking. I will get this solved shortly and look into meltus' thread for the rest of the font color.
Interesting its working fine now on v2. Follow all the steps. Then copy over services.jar one more time and power cycle phone. also make sure system, and framework are mount RO after copying the files.
The culprit seems to be services.jar. For whatever reason it doesn't play nice with the new build.
I had some guys on irc test this. Both on v2, one guy had no problems with flash after following steps. Other guy had the flash problem. He fixed by uninstalling flash, reinstalling flash, reboot phone and testing flash again.
Thanks homeiss and egrouse for testing!
Awesome thanks, I had just finished moaning about the ugly taskbar in the Froyo beta when I found this. The taskbar looks great, just needs some work on getting the rest of the text white, and get the icons looking like a set. Though would be great if the whole pulldown was dark or grey to match if possible. Installed fine on my Streak, reinstalled flash from the market and all is good.
Really appreciate the work quikt.

laymil has posted a much better script for this. As such I will be discontinuing my work on this for now. Not for any hard feelings, but because it is now beyond me to help any further.
As always I am glad to have helped the community in some small way. Thank you all

Geniusdog254 Posted the exact lines in the build prop that needed to be changed. This is a pretty common fix for problems like this between versions of Android. There was some concern however that you may miss some of the newer apps released only for Froyo. I wrote some simple scripts that will fix this for us.
Simply: One puts the Froyo build.prop on your phone. The other puts the modded build.prop on your phone.
Prerequisites
YOU MUST HAVE GSCRIPT INSTALLED
YOU MUST HAVE BUSYBOX INSTALLED
(IF YOU ARE USING PAULS FROYO ROM FROM HERE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686631
IT DOES NOT HAVE BUSYBOX INSTALLED
Also--
There are now 2 downloads.
One will reboot your phone automatically
One will not!
(I recommend this one for anyone that has problems, or doesn't know ADB well.)
Installation
Code:
Download the attached .zip file
Place the "buildprop" folder in the root of your sdcard
Place both "Normal_Froyo.sh" and "Modded_Froyo" files in the gscript folder on your sdcard
Code:
Open Gscript
Press menu and select Add Script
Press Load File button
Select Normal_Froyo file
Press Save button at bottom
Repeat for Modded_Froyo file
After that all you have to do is open gscript and select which one to run.
Normal_Froyo will give you stock froyo build.prop and let you see froyo only apps
Modded_Froyo will give you the market fix build.prop
You can also create shortcuts directly on your homescreen for each script if you wish
-----------------------------------------------
I've decided to skip the update.zip, I've found no way to copy the scripts to the gscript folder on the sdcard this way.
I'm going for an app instead.
P.S. I've never written an app before, java looks like russian to me lol. So if anyone has any tips, or knows any good tut's let PM me and let me know.
------------------------------------------------
fixed no buildprop folder
added NON-autoreboot download.
buildprop switcher v0.3.zip ORIGINAL
buildprop_switcher_no_rebootv0.3.zip NO REBOOT
buildprop swticher v0.3.1.zip DOWNLOAD THIS ONE
When the file is unzipped, there are 4 files - No Buildprop folder. Now I get the part about putting the two .sh files into Gscript folder.
Do I make another folder called buildprop and put build.2.1 and build.2.2 inside?
OR
Do I put build.2.1 and build.2.2 onto the root of the SDCARD?

Right.. the checkin service runs on each reboot. So it is not needed.
Worked just fine, but I did have to do the checkin thing. Possibly had poor signal but checkin hadn't done on reboot. Worked fine after that...

Can the checkin method be used, instead of rebooting? I'd much rather switch back and forth via checkin rather than having to reboot.
Thanks.

The reboot is built into the script. On my phone, if I checkin, the apps still don't show till I reboot. But show if I only reboot. If checkin alone works for you though, you can remove the reboot command from the script.
I'm not sure what happened, but after following the instructions exactly, my phone crapped. It got as far as the first nexus logo (non-animated), then the buttons lit up and I got a black screen. And that's how it stayed.
Any ideas?
This worked great for me I also solved my (unrelated) prob with SlideIt by forcing the dictionary to save in the settings, so I'm no longer bothered about losing shortcuts stuff on a reboot.
Dandy!!
tested again with a second n1. works perfect! automated checkin works perfect.
Can you please post what changed in the .prop file.
Also you didn't add the video codecs in the "new" prop file

The only thing I changed from the stock to the "modded" build.prop were these 2 lines
from this
ro.build.description=passion-user 2.2 FRF50 38042 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=google/passion/passion/mahimahi:2.2/FRF50/38042:user/release-keys
to this
ro.build.description=passion-user 2.1-update1 ERE27 24178 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=google/passion/passion/mahimahi:2.1-update1/ERE27/24178:user/release-keys
I didn't add anything else to these. If you would like other things added to the build.prop files. You are welcome to edit them yourselves, or let me know what things you want changed, and I can include them.
I can make it user friendly. With descriptions for each modded line, then you can simply un-comment the options that you want.
PS: I thought I had the flashable update ready, but the update-script is giving me problems. ANYONE that wants to help please let me know. I'd really like to get this out to everyone.

To anyone that can't get thier phone to boot all the way after doing this
Its not a big deal. Your phone booted. But the build.prop didn't get copied before the reboot.
If you did a nandroid before you tried it. Restore that!
If you didn't, OR you know how to use adb. Do this
Code:
adb remount
adb push [COLOR="red"]/path/to/build.2.1(or)build.2.2[/COLOR] /system/build.prop
adb reboot
I hope to have this fixed quickly.
ANYONE WHO'S PHONE WILL NOT BOOT AFTERWARDS!
Check and make sure you put the files in the right place.
build.2.2
&
build.2.1
go in
build.prop FOLDER ON YOUR SDCARD
that was the only reason I got the error, i deleted the files off my card when i was testing the flashable update.
If you still get an error. open both files in the gscript folder, and remove or comment out the reboot line. Then tell me what error you get in gscript.
So I did this and am able to see the new apps. When I reboot the phone I cannot see a bunch of old apps in my launcher. I revert to the normal script and reboot again and still cannot see a bunch of my apps. Appbrain says theyre installed and I can open them from there but no widgets or shortcuts for them Any Ideas?

Are those apps moved to the SD by any chance? If so, best bet is to go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Find your launcher, and force stop it. Should work after that.

2. Manually Add Animations: should work for most roms
This process will be helpful for those wanting to mix and match animations from the folders. In fact, why don't you create your own mix and post it here so everyone else can appreciate your awesomeness. I'll add new mixes below if they come in.
-Simply get a hold of the anim folder with the animations you want to use and the framework-res.apk from the rom you're interested in modifying (/system/framework/framework-res.apk).
- Open up the framework-res.apk in 7zip (right click on it, and select "open archive").
- Drag the anim folder with the animations (which you can download below) into /res folder in your framework-res.apk. This will replace the files currently in /res/anim.
- Exit out of 7zip.
- You now need to push the modified framework-res.apk onto the phone. You can do this by placing the modified framework-res.apk in the root sdcard folder, and entering the following into terminal emulator on your phone or using ADB when the sdcard is mounted:
su
mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework
mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk1p21 /system
reboot
If you're using terminal emulator, your phone will probably reboot before you finish re-mounting and/or typing reboot.
If you want to install the framework-res.apk that you just made in CWM recovery you can put it in this .zip make sure to put your framework-res.apk in the framework folder for this to work Your anim .zip
3.ninjamorph insatll find it in the market.
- create a new project of your framwork-res.apk.
- on your sdcard put the anim you want in this folder but first extract the folder out of the .zip first. (sdcard\androidthemes\workspace\framework-resapk\res\anim)
- make a copy incase you dont like the altered animations!!!
-replace the folder attached with the one in this zip
-go back to ninjamorph and finish project your phone should automatically reboot and there ya go animations are changed.
These will work with any rom and any phone enjoy
If you have any prob please post witch animation you used, that did not work so i can look into it.

The custom one. I had just installed .5 though so I just did a reinstall and I was fine. Maybe I'll try again later tonight. I really liked the animations in the doctored version of SC you posted originally. Maybe I'll just pull the /anim file and replace the one in my framework-res though. I didn't mean to sound ungrateful. I really appreciate the work you put into these. I just wanted to post a warning in case there is something specific to the AOSP Froyo that would keep this from working.
Edit: Just tried again in MM and it worked fine. I must have messed it up the first time. Thanks again for the awesome animations!

Have you guys seen the Gingerbread Screen Off Animation that looks like a TV turning off, with the line and a small flash (not sure exactly how to describe it). And when i say "screen-off" i mean by tapping your power button, not holding it in to power down, but to turn-off the screen and lock the phone.
It might be kinda stupid to some, but i think it's pretty neat and unique...
possible?

I am using apk manager to compile/decompile the entire .apk file but that is kind of annoying.

updated 2nd post
Attached are two zip files.
1. 341StockFramework.zip consisting of a flashable streakmod or clockwork recovery file that will restore the default framework-res.apk and services.odex. It is also a good idea to back up these two files before you flash file #2 just in case.
2. Streak341GingerKradSigned.zip consisting of heavily modified framework-res.apk inspired by gingerbread. I took bits and pieces from a few roms and themes. This was actually what I was using on my 318 updated for 341. The services.odex is also included that has the white text for the clock.
Thanks to JHoff.. Fixed the text color of the Date.. Should be final version now.
Enjoy!

Nice. Esp like the setting integrated into the notification menu. Truly the MAN!
date color is in the framework-res.apk/res/layout folder. use apktool to change the xml from hex to readable xml (it makes things way easier than searching through the hex values because you actually know what you're changing). use this post for reference http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831715

Well.. you would have to download my file.. extract framework-res.apk mdpi graphics and overwrite the ones in your streakdroid rom. And modify a few xml files for colors
Then edit your services.odex for text color as well..
if you never did it before, probably 2-5 hours of playing around... I have tried to make a few guides...to make it easier...
Anyone flash this to their 341? did it work?
Can I flash this on my 318, or do I need to upgrade to 2.2.2 first?

I flashed this with my Stock 341 + 322 baseband... Once booted and I unlocked the screen, I got many FC's - swype, gmail, clock, google search, logservice, framework, quickoffice, etc, etc... You get the picture.
You know, I had this same exact problems flashing my cooked 341 framework-res.apk file too. Exact same thing...
Your's work??
UPDATE:
I flashed your 341 Stock Framework zip file and that fixed the FCs BUT I lost my mobile network connection. Cant even turn on the airplane mode, my mobile network connection is just gone. In the wireless setting page, Mobile Network option is grey and you cant select it. The AT&T text on the top left notification is gone and I assumed since there is no mobile network.
UPDATE #2:
Very sad to report that after my nandroid full restore, same problem with no mobile network. Very sad...
I am hoping I dont have to start over tomorrow.
UPDATE #3: Fixed!! OK, Got it working again.
1. Dell Recovery - Factory Reset
2. Nandroid restore
Thank God. I am back in business.
so do you have the theme running or no?
framework-res.apk or the services.odex shouldn't effect that... can you try again?

No, I cant get GingerKrad going nor any of my cooked battery meter. All gives me many FCs immediately after I reboot and unlocking my screen. I only tested your theme once (experienced that lost mobile network issue) and it may be just a coincidence. But flashing any themed zip file and get many FCs problem is real for me.
I will test your theme again this evening and report back.

I dont know how long you waited, if it is within 5 minutes, may be waiting a little longer - like 10 minutes for it to boot. Anything over 10 minutes is definitely not right...
I know not all Streaks are created equally and there is this infamous "hidden" differences between Black vs White (may be Red one too) Streak that make the initial White Streak upgrade a nightmare.
To help Krad and others, I think we should identify our Streak. My info is:
White Streak
Stock 341
322 BB
Programs FC after applying GingerKrad_DateFix & lost mobile network connectivity (will verify the lost mobile network this evening again by reapplying).
I had the SM Recovery (both version 0.3.2 & 0.3.2.6) nandroid backing up firstboot issue until I replace my firstboot with Broken 341 firstboot.
black att streak from best buy
2.2.2
bb 322
goes into boot loop..of animated logo..

Krad, I redownloaded the datefix version and reflashed, same problem.... lost mobile network and tons of FCs. This time, my notification bar showed that I am connected to AT&T but no connection from YouTube, Tapatalk, etc. And I can't make phone call too.
I know this is weird and doesn't make sense from flashing a theme file but this is the case for me. Just in case, I have the White Streak.
strange...
All i did was the following maybe someone can tell me what i am doing wrong...
-download a 318 flashable zip from here with both framework and services.
- grabbed the stock framework-res.apk and services.odex
- altered those files from scratch.
-over wrote the files in the flashable zip i downloaded.
- flashed with streakmod.
Maybe the files are signed for just my device? But shouldnt we all be the same since we are all coming from the same nandroid backup?
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
If you modify a signed zip you have to resign it
this one is easy to use http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/android-development/126517-pc-ppcgeeks-android-apk-zip-signer.html
**********Updated OP with newly signed zip files*****************
try and let me know... make a nandroid backup first.
First and foremost, before installing this ZIP through Tenfar's recovery, you MUST have GingerBlur v4 already installed!
GingerBlur files/instructions can be found HERE!
* Please DO NOT ask for assistance with rooting or installing GingerBlur in this thread, follow the link above and ask there!
**THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED BY ME (ON MY OWN HANDSET) USING GINGERBLUR v4 (4.1.83 based)**
This theme is a compilation of graphics both original by me and from MANY other themes including:

ProDX Red
Criskelo ROM for I9000

[EDIT] Running this with GingerBlur 4.5 - working great with NO issues..
Nice work man!! This looks great!!
Thanks! I JUST finished updating the OP with install instructions and I also attached a RAR file with the dock/icons to use if you wanted to make LauncherPro look just like it does in the screenshots.
Also, while I like red and/or blue themes, my wife likes purple so I'll probably be working on a GrapeBlur theme next.
If anyone tries pushing these files to a release other than 4.1.57 (such as Adeo or Gingerblur based on 4.1.52) I would be interested to know the results!
Looks great sir, thanks for the work.
Looks great man, thanks for putting this together. One question though, is it posible to make a blue theme as I love blue!
Thanks for great work! One question though, any errors during the deodexing process?

I had one error, I think it was on PhotoEditor.apk and PhotoEditor.odex. I've seen or used a built-in photo editor so I just removed those then restarted the deodex process for apps and it completed successfully.
just tried deodexing and yes, getting the same errors from the two apks as well. Ok thanks for the heads up will try again
Successfully applied the theme!
Found 1 bug. The clock in notification bar is black in mine instead of white. Any idea why?
This might be a nobrainer but, if I change the icon files inside the apk and then push it to my phone will it still work? In this way will I be able to make my own 4.1.57 themes?
hey.. i am sorry to ask this how am i suppose to install the grapeblur and the launcherpro.. i have no idea .. i am soo sorry to ask such a dum question.. but this is my first time with an android
okay I may be kinda slow how do I make use of the launcherpro files?
hey how would you install cherryblur in the first place.. i have my phone deodexed and all but having trouble knowing how to install cherryblur...
Beautiful theme and I love battery icon... what clock app are you using?

You added a few icons to the /drawable-hdpi directory. Do you actually use them via the xml files, or are they just remains of whatever framework-res.apk you used?

yes
just get framework-res.apk, back it up, open it with winrar.
drag and drop the files, of the same name, that you would like to replace into the open winrar window. choose normal and 'add and replace', then close the window to save. replace the one in system/framework with your modified version.
Be sure to set the priviledges correctly after you copy into system/framework.
They should match the original, full read and user write.
Thats how I made this.
Edit: Every time I replace the framework-res.apk I lose my google, twitter, and facebook accounts. Anyone know why, all I'm doing is replacing images.

The instructions are on the first page, but you need to be at least somewhat familiar with adb.

When you long press on any of the icons in the dockbar of LauncherPro you should see an option to change the icon. You need to have the icons/dock I attached saved to your sdcard ahead of time so you can choose "custom" for the icon and select the graphic you want to use.
For the dock you go to Menu -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Dock Background
* Pretty sure that's correct, but my phone is in on the charger in my bedroom where my wife is sleeping so I don't want to accidentally wake her up.

You are running 3.2? I'll check and see if its because of that or not after work. Otherwise you may try extracting the dialer from from the .zip and push it through root explorer to system/app folder and reboot.
yes i have 3.2 but dialer is still old one from wich folder and which apk i should to extract
i have replased but still old one
under dialer you mean phone.apk write? or dialertabactivity.apk?
Sick theme! Only problem I'm having is my phone keeps force closing. I'm going to reflash in a little bit and see if that fixes it. Everything else is great. Keep up the good work!

Those images are in the DialerTabActivity.apk and you would need to extract the ProjectV_AssassinEdition.zip and push the DialerTabActivity.apk from system/app/ folder in that .zip to the system/app folder of your phone and reboot. Not sure why it didn't go unless 3.2 has a different naming system for the files. I still gotta look into that. That's why I posted it for Project-V, could be port issue requiring a full port.

You may try to do a wipe cache, dalvik and fix permissions from red recovery... The only issue I have had so far has also been an issue for all unthemed roms for me and that's no email notification sounds. But fix permissions might do it without a full wipe. let me know.

I just realized that the image you posted is the in-call dialer....You know, When you are asked to press 7 to delete voicemail or 1 for english lol
Those images are in the phone.apk, but the main dialer for dialing your calls is in the dialertabactivity.apk To get that as the main dialer would require a multi-apk rework... If I have time I might make you a zip you can use in ninja morph.

4. Connect Usb and copy the files from the folders in the zip to the corresponding folders in AndroidThemes> Wokspace> on your phone
5. Disconnect USB and wait till its completed
6. Re-open ninjamorph, and choose Finish Project> DialerTabActivity APK> Yes> Yes> No(incase you wanna change it back)

thank you veryyyy veryyy much but it's still old one
i've clean dalvik cache and install it from cwm but still the same
my dialer is like this
i whant dialer like this but with your theme
vazovskiiii ;
The update I attached for you should have changed the number buttons background and background of the dialer itself to that of the in-call dialer you first posted a pic of.
After your last post, I realize that I have no clue what exactly it is that you want.
I'm not sure if it is the other language in the header or the layout of the buttons on the bottom row...either way...if its either of those, I may not be able to help you change that. I just took an existing dialer and themed the images not the coding.
yes yes you are wright i whant your themed dialer with second layout my english is very bad i now
i just whant the layout of second picture but with your theme
i whant change the places of buttons like in second picture in my dialer the below row is speaker call and contacts and i just whant to change like in in second picture down, call video call, message and beckward
Is there any way you can post the wallpaper you used for this theme?
