Illustrated instructions on Rhodium dissassembly
I kept on checking ebay and waited and waited for the original unbranded housing, as all it seemed to have was coloured ones. Eventually some came onto the market from china for around 50 pounds. It arrived after a week or two and looks to be good quality (ive yet to fit it though as im worried I may mess something up)
You can purchase it also from truesupplier but it is much more expensive. So I advise you keep checking ebay until they come up again. But a word of warning, they go quickly so make sure you snap it up fast
Housing for sale!
I got a replacement housing from ebay which arrived yesterday:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170549457486&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
I had cracked the side of my main chassis, but have managed to fix it with epoxy so I have the replacement housing for sale. Unfortunately it's not OEM (original HTC) as the seller described, but it was a very good price (£27.52) and appears pretty good quality. The mesh section of the battery cover isn't the best fit and the mute button on the rear won't light up as it's solid black rubber. It includes the silver bezel, the battery cover and the main chassis.
If anyone wants it, I'll let it go for £25 inc postage...
Cheers

Hello, I have a Qtek 9100 and unfortunately I dropped it and scratched the front of the casing up pretty bad. The phone is still in perfect condition and not even a scratch on the back or the screen. I am looking for the front housing. I do not have any scratches on the rear housing, keyboard, or even the battery cover. I have looked on Ebay and the only thing that I have found is for around $100 (US). I do not want to pay that much for something that I can conceivably drop again. So my question is; is there anyone out there that knows where I can get a front housing? I would even buy the total housing to use as a backup but I do not want to spend an arm and a leg for it. I would greatly appreciate any feedback anyone has.
First of all: PLEASE do NOT cross post your question in all (Wizard) forums. One should be enough.
The best way to get spare parts is HTC itself. I bought a battery-cover from htc-europe at a reasonable GBP 10 (or was it $ 10?). Just send them a message via the contact optio n on their website
Get a dummy device
Hi,
Purchase a dummy device from ebay. All the external parts are identical to the ones originally installed.
Regards.
Íñigo
Have you replaced the housing of an actual phone with the housing of a dummy phone. I would just like to be clear before i go out and buy one.
I suggested the same thing over at HoFo and someone replied that they are different. If it were me I'd drop in to a Tmo store to verify though.
Edsub: That's a good response and info. Thanks for the post.
found this site when i was looking for the entire facia for the 8125... they do have alot of other phone types listed too. the 8125 facia runs about $79.
Actually the dummy phones are all one solid piece of plastic, so unless you're going to try to cut the front piece off and superglue it, that won't work at all.

I called brightpoint in Germany for two battery covers.
They did send it by UPS without charging me anything.
If someone is interested in the phone number or email, just pm me
go to the htc web site. They have a phone number for ordering parts. I needed a batter door, and they sold me one for 12.00 plus 7.95 shipping. I had it in 4 days.

Been searching for another screen protector but my Expert Shield is peeling from the front camera section due to the **** design of the screen protector.
Been looking on eBay and they have alot of generic ones, like 3 packs or something for $5 dollars.
Stuff like these.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3-Screen-pro...3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:1|39:1|240:1318
Has anyone actually used them? Are they really worth the hassle or just bite the bullet and spend more on a better brand.
The Expert Shield cost a fair bit, but it is too bad it's peeling off.
i have bought the followings:

and

and
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=250367478475
and waiting for this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=370174439118
and they all look like the stock one but all of them are a bit short from the top and bottom and they all from the same manufacture as they look and measure exactly the same except for the ones in the first link have a very weird V cut on the earpiece and not a round cut just like the rest..
i would say it's better to get a brand name product that would fit the phone exactly without any shortage in the size... and i think at the end i will just buy IS as i had it on my diamond and it fit good!

good to know.. i only bought that as a test and if it all goes well, i will get the full body armor .. thanks for the info
Hi,
On Monday I have received this 2800 ma extended battery ordered few days before:
http://cgi.ebay.fr/HTC-TOUCH-PRO-2-II-EXTENDED-2800mAh-BATTERY-COVER-NEW_W0QQitemZ160356657205QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_AudioTVElectronics_PDAsAccessories_PDABatteries?hash=item2556006835&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Some pics of the thing plugged on my phone are attached.
So, ok I must admit, the phone looks is heavier but it doesn't feel really bulkier on hands.
The main drawback is that the stylus is harder to pull, you'll have to stop bitting your nails to get it
The finish it not that bad for the price you paid. it's the same glossy one as the original back cover.
Regarding the battery life, I got it on Monday evening, now it's Friday morning and I still get 10%!!! My use is above average with push on windows mail / gmail (since 2 days), internet, some calls/ sms, music through A2DP...
Whatever, I feel the battery life is at least 2 times the stock 1500ma battery.
I think it worth the try especially for the price!
By the way, I just saw a 3000ma battery on ebay this morning. The back cover looks better but the seller has "0" feedback.
Thibaud
Thanks. Can you show us a picture of the back, where the loudspeaker is please? and let us know how it goes in terms usage. -This could be great for short trips instead of bringing a charger.
2nd the picture on the back, and while your at it one of the bottom please. Nobody is making one for sprint yet (we have the 3.5mm jack), and I'm wondering if a little dremmel work on the new back cover would make it fit my phone.
Thanks!
I've had more then my fair share of experience buying non-oem batteries and it has never been pleasant. At most, I only get a few months out of them before they start draining really fast or fail to charge to 100%. For only 15 quid, I'm skeptical as ever.
Please report back your results in a month or so.
got that battery, awhile back, haven't reeally put it through the paces, cause I have a T-mobile branded phone, and at the time, I bought the battery(few months back) it never mentioned that it only fit unbranded
I posted a review on another site, so I will paste part of it here with some pics.
I bought one of these off eBay and it was advertised for the T-Mobile Touch Pro2. While the battery fit, the cover did not. (The T-Mobile Touch Pro2 has a really thin battery cover.)
I was wondering how that error was made.
Now on seeing this post and your pics, well... it's that the cover the seller sent to me was for the European Touch Pro2 model (and U. S. Sprint, AT&T and Verizon?)
My cover looks exactly like the one in the pictures, so I know that it is the same one .
I contacted the seller and he said to send him pics of the issue so he could inform the engineers. I humored him and sent the pics, never to hear from him again. He wanted me to pay for return shipping to get a refund. Since it was a $25 purchase I just said forget about it and left him negative feedback.
Now as to the item, the battery seems well made (I tested it while the phone was sitting on my desk. I just could not take it anywhere since I did not have a proper cover.)
But be warned, while the cover looks OK in the pics, it is cheap soft pliable plastic. To me it looks and feels like it will warp over time or parts of the plastic will suffer fatigue damage.
It attaches (near as I can tell) via small protrusions around the phone where it clips on. Since it's cheap plastic I can envision the clips breaking or warping. Leave it in the hot sun, on a car sear or dashboard, I suspect the cover will warp, if not melt.
All said and done, since the battery works well (so far, in my limited testing) it is worth the price I paid ($25 shipped.) It says on the package there is a 12 month warranty. Does that mean it will be worth the expense to ship the return and pay for shipping a replacement back to you (probably $30), probably not.
Batter 2800
I also got this battery with cover for my Vodafone TP2. Sure plactic is cheap (I cannot tell that original back cover is much better...), but hole for stylus disappointed me at all- I have to use pen or scissors to extract it out. Better do not leave it thee at all.
Anyway battery works longer.
I am much content with replacement battery 1600mAH which lasts longer than original (bought on UK ebay , too).
If you have or found a good case, post it here.
I bought the official case from TMO. It's a little pricey but provides excellent protection. As a matter of fact, the faucet in my bathroom leaks and I left my tablet on the counter one night. I woke the next morning and my tablet was sitting in a puddle of water that extended halfway up the case. Took the case off, wiped everything down, and plugged it back in. Worked fine. Even the liquid indicator was still white.

Ditto on the TMO case.. seems $20 too high, but honestly a pretty good hunk of hardware for your tablet. I will have one spare once I have my tablet mounted into my car dash..

Another vote for the TMo case and you are right about the price but you can buy it off Ebay for about $20 less unless you are like me and want it right now.
Can anyone pls post a picture/link to this TMo case?
Would like to know how it looks, whats the price and where to get it.. thanks

The brand is Incipio and I purchased mine from a TMo store for like $50. I had seen the same one on Ebay for half the price but I didn't want to wait. I checked Ebay and the case is no longer listed. I also looked on the Incipio web site and they don't even list it. I don't have a picture but the case is black and the tablet kind of snaps down into the bottom part of the case. You can open the case(it is held closed with an elastic strap) and you have three positions that the tablet can be set into. They range from a fairly good tilt to darn near upright. I have found the case to be quite nice and it really doesn't add much to the overall size. Hope this helps.

Pictures attached.
On the second picture, you can see bubbles in the microfiber. That's the glue separating because I got it wet.
I bought on ebay a smart cover like this from the auction 170821966479. It's thin, good protection and a good stand. I am very happy with it.
The TMO case is so popular in the US, but outside there are two options: universal 7 inch case or a not so bad case designed for the media pad. Search for t-mobile springboard case on ebay.
I bought a cheap-o case off eBay for $16. Listing was questionable as the sellers account was terminated the day after I bought it. I still got the case this morning after 3 weeks though. 2 problems with it. It's a little too thing for the springboard, so the outside edge around the display doesn't quit fold over all the way and sticks up. Secondly, the hole for the front facing camera is slightly off and the camera just barely peeks out from it.
Might not stick with the case though. Without the case I've always been able to stick it in my back pocket (slacks or jeans) and walk around with it to a few places, lunch breaks, dog walks, etc. With the case its a no go.

Yes, I have also found this one on eBay. I have ordered it (the same colour like lilaliend). But it never arrived (I got my money back). Fortunatelly!!
After the first attempt with eBay, I have decided to invest a bit more money and ordered a leather case from PDair:
qqq.pdair.com/index.php/ebook-reader-tablet/huawei/huawei-mediapad/leather-case-for-huawei-mediapad-book-type-black.htmk
(in the URL please replace qqq with www and htmk with html)
You can buy it directly from PDair for $80. This is quite a lot of money. But PDair's reseller for Middle East sells the same case ("book type") for $60:
tbeyond.com/leather-case-for-huawei-mediapad-book-type-black-p-14363.htmk
(in the URL please replace htmk with html)
Free Worldwide Shipping. Even though the reseller is based in United Arab Emirates, the case came from Hong Kong. Delivery to Germany was without any problems.
My experience with the case from PDair: The case is simply excellent. I highly recommend it. It is worth the money:
PROS:
- durable black leather
- magnets! It closes with magnets
- the tablet fits nicely into the case (in contrast to the cheap case from eBay - see post from lilaliend)
- all holes (front and rear cameras, USB and HDMI ports, charger) are precisely where they should be
CONS:
- the case is rather thick. They use multiple layers of leather (you can see it on the pictures on the PDair website). So the tablet is really well protected. But with the case you can not put the tablet into your back pocket...
TMobile Incipio case for Springboard has dropped in price
If you were to shop for it now on the TMobile site the Incipio case is now $29. That's about $15 to maybe $20 cheaper than when I bought it earlier in the year. ARGH!
I do love my case though. The only thing that's bad is when you are in portrait mode and the front cover doesn't sit nicely back when holding it in that position.
Marware Jurni
I wanted a case that had a zippered closure, for added protection. I had this case from when I had purchased the Kindle Fire. But I decided to see if it would fit the Springpad. It does, with a bit of sanding or cutting.
This is an option if you are willing to sand down or cut two nibs from the top two clips. Each clip has two nibs, the one you want to sand down or cut is the one on the right for each clip. I have attached some pictures so you can see the zippered case and the two clips above, and a close up of the cut. Mine is a bit sloppy, but hey, I'm not complaining. See pictures.

Great... I am happy with my incipio but I got this off ebay because it would be nice to prop it in portrait mode. I guess I could report how well it does when it comes.

this is my combo "temporary" case and universal stand.
still looking for a folio-type case and I just got news that the local distributor here already has stocks and giving it for free for new buyers of MediaPad. :silly:
I wanted a case that protects the corners, could prop up the MediaPad in landscape and (!) did not cover the front (like some cases that cover the bezel around the display).
Turns out that this case for the Lenovo Ideapad A1 fits just fine. Only the hole for the camera is in the wrong place, but I don't use the Pad's camera anyway. Nice sleek design. Reeks of plastic/glue the first few days, but the smell wears off quickly and then you have a smart-looking case for your MediaPad.
Apparently this case comes with different names around the globe. Have a look at the pictures and see what's available in your country.
Hi
I'm using the EasyAcc Case for nearly a year now.
It fits great, exept the hole for the frontcamera could be a milimeter bigger.
I do not know, in it is available outside Germany.

I need to buy a replacement Flex Cable Ribbon with Charger Port and Mic. I've only found two sites that have the correct one for the Verizon GS4.
gounlock.com/details.php?itemId=9624
etradesupply.com/oem-samsung-galaxy-s4-sch-i545-charging-port-flex-cable-ribbon.html
Has anyone bought from these sites before or could recommend a better one?
I bought stuff from etradesupply. Only complaint is they charge $15 for shipping. So get all you need in one order.
I have used etradesupply and have seen various companies vouch for them. Shipping a little pricey, so I ordered anything I thought I could need in one order to save in the long run. But the parts I got were quality. Only thing I didn't like is they stamped all the parts with their logo, a little blue circle with the letters ETS inside. Nothing a little alcohol and cotton swab couldn't easily remove though.
Thanks for the advice you two. I'm going to go ahead and order extra parts like you said just in case.
