There is no ODIN for mac.
But I'm sure you can get your hands on a PC for an hour or two. Go to a library or a friend's house. C'mon man.

yeah, i am in the same boat. i have no access to a pc

I have struggled with this myself, so you're not alone. Your best bet if you don't want to borrow a windows machine is to stick a copy of Windows on your computer via VMWare Fusion or Boot Camp or what have you.

Run Parallels....or find a friend. What version of OS X are you running?

From my experience even that doesnt work. I tried Odin on my boot camp Windows 7 partition on MacBook Pro with no luck.

yes i am trying it on parallels now but it does not seem to register that the phone is plugged in when i run odin. when i plug it in it does ask me where i would like to mount the phone, OSX or VM and i choose vm but obviously it wont mount in downloading mode (or does it?) but odin doesnt do anything to the phone :/

[Q] please help i think i briked!!!

OK so ive look for hours around xda at tons of threads and i cant find anyone with the same problem as me, my phone got stuck on the tmobile vibrant boot up screen after trying to flash an oc kernal from update.zip. so i decided to fix it with odin. im on a mac and i have a windows 7 virtual machine with odin3, kies, and the 32 bit vibrant drivers installed and it doesn't register my phone in download mode. it does recognized it in recovery but, for some reason not in download mode. please help
Won't work on Mac
For what I know, Odin won't recognize your phone in a virtual machine on a mac. I tried, it never worked, luckily I have a physical windows machine at home, maybe this is not your case. Good luck.

[Q] KE7 via Mac??

So far Bootcamp has proven the only way. I know it doesn't work under Parallels (which requires Windows as well...so either way you're stuck). Of course you could always resort to borrowing a friend's Windows PC.
yeah i think that's probably my best bet. bloody mac. cheers.

Kies does work in Parallels with SGS2 but I have had problems with drivers for some reason, I could not get it to work with Odin as its not fast enough when connecting to load the initial drivers required, I had to resort to using my company windoze laptop to root and update.

[Q] Why arent the drivers working for my phone?

ok, this problem is notorious on my laptop. this time its a little different though. i reset my laptop and put windows 7 on it yesterday. now ive been spending all day personalizing it to my comforts and that includes getting my laptop to connect my phone to ODIN. i ODINed my phone to JT's vanilla GB on my friend's laptop a few days ago and now i want to switch to CM7. I installed both, the Nexus S drivers AND the Samsung drivers and everytime i connect my phone and go into download mode, it fails to connect to ODIN because of the drivers. i dont know what to do but i really want to get this thing working and not worry about these damn drivers anymore! >_< ....please help lol

ODIN does NOT recognize my Droid Charge
Fist of all let me tell you what I have done to resolve this on my own:
Uninstalled/Re-installed the drivers for the Droid Charge
Put device into USB Debugging mode
Unknown sources are checked
Power cycled
Uninstalled/re-installed ODIN
Tried different pc's (all Windows)
Tried different USB ports on all of the pc's I have used
Factory reset on the device
I have read blogs that other people are having this same issue, suggested those troubleshooting steps, they did not work for others but hey I might get lucky right? And this is still a no go, so could someone PLEASE provide me with the correct troubleshooting steps to take to resolve this?

[Q] Problem with Heimdall Clockworkmod Recovery

Before I begin, I should say that I am a n00b and I am new to android. That being said, I did a search through XDA and google and could not find a solution to my problem.
I am currently trying to flash cyanogenmod7 to my samsung fascinate using the cyanogenmod wiki guide.
I am trying to install ClockworkMod Recovery. I put my phone into download mode and plug it in to my computer (running windows 7 parallels) and it seems to not show up in the device listing in zadig. I've tried multiple times. The computer recognizes that it is connected to the phone initially, but then disappears.
Any suggestions? Thanks guys
see if you can get it to work using odin with section:3 of this guide. Just download the odin and samsung driver from steps 1&2 of section:1 then proceed to section 3. If that don't work then we have to determine what is causing the connection issue?

haha it's funny..right before you posted that i tried it on a different computer. Now i have cyanogenmod7 running nicely! No idea why my other computer doesn't detect the phone.
Thanks for your help!
EDIT: Do you recommend any kernels? I'd like to speed this bad boy up.

Help with soft bricked vibrant

Hey everybody. I didn't get any replies in the vibrant section, and I figured it is also an over all samsung product question so here goes. I bought a very messed up samsung galaxy vibrant t959 off a friend for $20 hoping I could fix it. They had flashed a captivate rom to it but I can still manage to get it into download mode. But heres the problem. Odin wont recognize it when I plug it in it just says windows does not recognize device has malfunctioned or something along the lines of that, the bubble shows up over and over every two seconds. I got odin to recognize it once before, but my brother unplugged it XP. Now I can not get odin to recognize it again, any tips? I have a linux computer at my disposal as well if that helps. I am familiar with flashing, odin, android sdk, adb. I know I have drivers installed good because the same cable with the same port and same computer I actually modded this same device before my friend messed it up. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

I would recommend uninstalling and then re-installing your USB drivers and see if Odin will then recognize the phone. Another alternative would be to see if Heimdall recognizes the device and use that to flash the stock ROM to the device. If you are unfamiliar on how to use Heimdall I would recommend taking a look at this guide.

You can try it on Linux I can't guarantee it will make a difference but I would try it anyway. If you are going to try it on Linux make sure you configure USB access for the device correctly in order for the computer to recognize your phone.
