No vibrate - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently rooted my vibrant. VERY new to this. Being cautious to avoid problems. Have downloaded rom manager and one click lag fix. My phone won't vibrate at all now. Any advice? Please and thank you.

Did you go to settings and click vibrate for notifications? And did you check the vibration intensity?

Or try the mysetting app in the market, change the ring profile to vibrate and see how it works out...

Yeah, I've tried all that. Just turned lag fix off and it's vibrating again... Hmmm... Anyone else running oclf from the market? I'm going to turn it back on again and see what happens. Will report back...

Yep, lag fix on, no vibration. Contacting the dev...

known problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8594554&postcount=2
hopefully it is resolved soon

Dev was very nice... And without making me feel too stupid, pointed out the update in the market that fixes the vibration issue. Haha!

Orientation problem with Nero ROMs

Hey guys, I have a minor problem using Nero v4.1. This happened with Nero V3 also. It's not a big deal but gets annoying sometimes. Often, when I launch an app, the orientation would be horizontal even though the phone is completely level. I did some tests, and it seems if I tilt the phone prior to opening the app but then return to a level position, the app will open in the horizontal orientation. The phone seems to remember that I tilted it even though when I open the app, the phone is completely level. Has anyone of you experienced this problem? I couldn't seem to find anything about it. Can anyone test if the same thing happens?
Thanks.

Why are you creating a separate thread for this?? Post it in the Nero v3 or v4 thread...
You provide no information whatsoever about your issue. I would bet it's the launcher you're using and not the ROM. I have no issues using LauncherPro Plus.
Most likely the phone remembers the state it was in when the application was launched, and the halt that happens when it's loading prevents the update until the load is complete. Once it loads the app then it's free once more to update the phone state.

Because people obviously didn't see or didn't bother to respond. I posted it in the Nero v4 thread. I asked multiple times too...

I think I described my problem in great enough detail. It's hardly "no information whatsoever." Anyway, I'm using the gingerbread launcher that came with Nero v4.

Yes, it would be great if someone could help. Another person said they experienced the same thing. weird...
This isn't a nero issue. with the recent leaks, the rotation sensor is really sensitive.
You can try to calibrate the accelerometer by going to Settings>Display>Horizontal Calibration

Thanks for the tip. I will try that. I'm gonna flash Nero v5 though. Hopefully the problem goes away. It shouldn't be a hardware problem right?

My Ace lights up for no reason

When my phone is idle, screen lights up for no reason. I don't see any incoming calls, messages or notifications. It lights up and returns to black in a second. When occurs the phone gets into a loop and acting this way forever.
I didn't install any new software for a while.
My Rom is Miracle V4 and I didn't have any issue with it up to now.
It drives me nuts! And it doesn't help my battery life
Thanks for your help!!

Is there anything I could do for stopping this? Any parameter to tweak?
Is my only solution to change for another rom not based on cm7?
what rom do you suggest?
I don't know if someone else cares about this issue but I think I've a lead.
I have made a backup of my ROM before the first time this pb occurred. Restoring this backup solved the pb.
Today the pb came back. It occurred because I was short of free space and I decided to clean the cache of each application.
Then the flashing pb - looping in lighting up and returning to black - is now back.
To stop it, I open each application installed on my phone in order to initialize the cache with some data.
No more flashing pb at least for one hour. Finger crossed.
Got same problem plus proximity sensor problem also!
Both were solved by changing kernel......
No random light up

Could you give me some details about this kernel? I'll give it a try...
I think it is a problem with the kernel. You should update them! I suggest dragonnn's "firekernel" beacause it is the most developed one in the moment: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675023 Just flash it with CWM. You will still keep oc and the custom governors. You can even save battery with this new kernel.
Just let me know if it worked, because it worked also for me! My keybackllights never ever ligthened up radomly again.

I updated the kernel to firekernel-aroma-12.06.12
As you suggested I went for OC with all custom governors by default.
Unfortunately it didn't solve my pb and my phone still flashes up

I've seen that the "The Ace Kernel beta 4" has been discontinued http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606352 .
So I tried with firekernel as suggested by hyermann.
So far it is not a success
May be I should try with skynet28's... I'm so lost with this pb...

Do you know any voodoo trick to get this ghost out of my phone
Well i am not an expert in this field.
But i had the same problem on my gfit.
It took me a while to trace what was going on and it turned out to be a live wallpaper which was running in the background.i uninstalled that lwp and no more blinking screen

Thank you for the hint. Unfortunately I've no live wallpaper. I try to avoid this kind of apps to preserve my battery.
How did you trace the guilty application? May be I've something similar but I don't know how to find it out. The problem occurred out of the blue.
Umm it happened to me alot and i close some background apps and give it a reboot and tadaaaa no more lighting up unnecessarily . . . !

Because I had some troubles with Firekernel - free games with my bluetooth - I decided to flash my device with Ace kernel BETA 4 as you suggested.
Since then everything works as a charm!
So it is definitively a kernel problem. Thanks a lot for your help :good:
@kmarci: I installed Airpush detector but there was nothing about Airpush. It's not related to notification.

Lighflow issues and wonky LED

So it looks like using Lightflow will require disabling the air hover ability. When I downloaded Lightflow and enabled it, the phone complained and disabled the air hover. Bummer! Now I have to decide what to keep..
Also, anyone else having trouble with a wonky LED? I have a purple LED that's stuck on.. not sure what provoked it and how to fix it!
Bat is at 81%.. no pending notifications. Not sure what to do! Rebooting the phone cleared it, but it came back again.
Other than all that.. I absolutely love this phone!

I am experiencing the same issue.. When i go into Spen settings and re-enable it, it works. BUT it turns on accessibility so I hear the phone talk to me. This, after disabling talkback, too.
http://folioflow.com/lightflow/samsung.html
I let it disable air view, then went and turned it back on. No issues.
same problem

I had the same problem then i was just browsing through the widgets in my phone and noticed there was 2 widgets for LightFlow. I used the 1X1 widget which gives u the option of resetting all notifications to clear the curent flashing LED. Hope this helps.
I started using Light Manager instead and have had none of the issues I had with lightflow.

Yep. Me too. And no issues with talkback coming back on. To be safe, and if you don't use talkback, then you can rename/freeze the app if you have root.

I haven't tried this myself, but if you experience this issue across several CM versions and devices, it's worth reporting to the JIRA bug tracker. Be sure to reproduce the issue on a milestone, RC, or stable release, else your bug report will be tossed out.
Oh, I just saw that you're talking about a third-party app. I use WeatherBug Elite on my phone. I've turned on sound notifications, but I don't have a way to create a weather alert so I can't test it immediately. Not sure when bad weather will roll through either...

I can confirm this behavior today. I received numerous weather alerts that all showed in status bar, but no sound. This is most likely a bug in the application considering other apps are able to activate the notification sound without issue. I suggest e-mailing the developer (I will do the same).

Did you install Xposed Framework? If so, then you have to install the second screen fix for it, otherwise that will occur.

That worked after I learned the hard way I couldn't use es file explorers download function to download those files haha.
Thx a ton!
