This must have happened after the update. Anyways my phone is rooted, had lag fix, removed lag fix before update. After update, I go to settings>sound and display> and some of the options are giving me an error when trying to change. Path not found..
I have another vibrant that is running smooth, could I make a back up of the good phone with clockwork, and place it on my other phones sd, and install with clockwork?
Thanks

You have 3 options at this point,
Try booting into recovery using rom manager & try fixing permissions
Go back to stock using ODIN and then update to JI6 using ODIN
If you have a Nand Backup before the update try going back to that update and then use ODIN to update back to JI6

Well I was rooted and and had lagfix on my fascinate. Then I decided to download the new update from verizon today. After the update the update screen kept on popping up even after I already installed it. Then I found out that my apps that require root like autokiller and setcpu did not work anymore even though I still hade the superuser app. So I rooted my phone again restarted it and the apps worked again then I decided I wanted to do the clockworkmod installation thing so I could make my phone flashable, the instructions recommended that i remove lag fix so I took my phone plugged it into the pc and went to my ryan lagfix folder whatever on my desktop and clicked on the unlagfixme.bat thing and at the end it had some errors or something even mentioning the Innopath Activecare in it which was for some reason probably why it didnt work. So I decided to try it again and it didnt work. Then I rebooted the phone and I saw the samsung logo and then black screen! I CANT BOOT UP!!! WHAT DO I DO!!!!!
follow this your going to have to go back to stock, then redo everything.

Also, Do not install the Verizon update, it is not made for rooted phones. Wait for one of the devs to post a root friendly verizon update.
if that doesnt work, take it where u got it and tell them u did the update and that s what it does after the update.
Did you have clockworkmod recovery installed?

No i did not I was going to but then it said lag fix is not recommended so I went to the folder with the lagfix stuff from Ryan and clicked on the unlagfixme.bat and there were issues. I saw innopath activecare some where in the error part or whatever, so something with the update from today or some thing. Dont know what to do now! Stuck on that stupid black screen ANYONE HELPPP!!!!
Had the same error, hold the power button and the volume keys till you can boot recovery. Then do a factory wipe and then after you get back into the phone, do a factory data reset.
It's the only way I got my phone back. Now time to figure out how I can remove the root and re-root .
I had installed Voodoo and went to install one of the AOSP roms available. I didnt realize that it would overwrite the kernel and now upon booting the phone will go into FC loops. I cant get anywhere and cant get into CWM. I thought I would try using ODIN to get back to stock but now its doing the same thing at stock. I'm at a loss. What should I do? Is my phone Perma-bricked?
Was it my rom? I don't think it deletes the kernal?

blue breeze. I didnt think so either but now I get nothing but FC's from startup. So I tried to flash back to stock. Still nothing.
Oh my there are going to be a lot of these...
I don't know. I think that IF I had flashed the ROM first and then Voodoo I would've been fine. Unless I'm wrong and that's not what caused the issue. Any solution or am I out of a phone?
why can't you get into cwm? even by turning your phone off and holding the volume keys and the power button?
It goes to stock recovery, always has. I could only get into CW by going to ROM manager and booting into it that way.
do the update.zip and it should take you to cwm
the reason you're in FC HELLLLLLL is cuz you flashed over voodoo. that's why JT said don't flash over vooodooooo. you can fix it by going back to stock with odin. then i suggest loading bubby's kernal then voodoo over that.
Ive tried going back to stock with ODIN and it still does it. I'm going to try re-downloading the stock files and do it again. BTW the FC's are: android/process.media, and TwLauncher. I cant even get to any kind of homescreen or settings to turn on debugging.
i tried going back to stock with odin because i wanted to remove voodoo anyway before i flashed a rom and still am getting FC's like crazy
Have you tried this?
Have you checked this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807088 ...would be a good idea....
Hey Community,
So here is the issue I'm having, my phone's auto rotation is not working. It gets stuck in horizontal mode when auto rotation is on. Here are the things I have tried:
Odin back to stock
turn off and back on auto rotation. turn off and reboot then turn on
SGS Tools Accelerometor tester - this came out that everything is working the way it is suppose to
Now I can't figure out what else I could try to fix this. Does anyone happen to know a file I could push to fix this? Or another solution I haven't tried..
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
What rom are you currently on? Also are you using and alternative home application like launcher pro or adw?

Trigger and yeah I'm using twGTGLauncher. I've tried switching launchers but no go on that either. Any ideas??
might try to Odin back to stock JFD, >then Root> Then install Rom Manager> then reflash Trigger or Biwinning> Then test it for auto-rotation and make sure it works. Assuming it does, reboot a couple times and retest, if it is working, then it probably is either the Tigers-blood kernel or the Theme you flashed, and do not flash those. The complex problem with all these phones (not just Vibrant) is when they are built and by who..... so the result is what works great fro me does not translate into a guarantee it will work for you.

Thanks, I tried that. It originally started when I was on Simply Honey 2.5. with its kernal Overstock 1.5.1 worked for a week or so then I calibrated my horizontal rotation and ever since then it hasn't worked. I went ahead and odin back to stock eclair like I got my phone and tried it and it still didn't work in stock or when I re-flashed Simply Honey. Is it possible to re-push a file to try and fix it?

You need to Odin to Eugene's froyo that doesnt brick. Uncheck ALL boxes before running Odin. Then use Odin to flash back to JFD with repartition, autu-reboot and EFS clear checked. Then flash whatever you want. This happened to me2 times and this is the only thing Ive found to fix it. Hope this helps.
You can find eugenes froyo here: http://eb-productions.net/
Was official froyo rooted, decided to flash CM7 through clockwork, worked just fine, nothing wrong there. but i was not able to get Google apps so i couldnt get titanium. Decided to go back.
In (clockwork)recovery i did a factory wipe and then odin'd back to 2.1
That worked fine, then i realized that the backups on the SD weren't deleted like i thought they would be since i did a factory wipe, so i tried to restore it in clockwork recovery. After the restore i press reboot system now but it doesn't go past the Vibrant screen, instead it reboots after a little then goes back to the vibrant screen, then it reboots again and goes to default recovery.
Help?
You restored a froyo backup on an eclair kernel sounds like, need to get into download mode and odin again

You go to ODIN get to stock...right?
Then you flash clockwork recovery on that... right?
Then you put a ROM on your SD Card... right?
Then you flash it from there... ;D
^ thats it... Check my signature for step by step in detail "Going back to stock"
After booting up or restart recieve an error message that system ui has stopped running. Jellybean 4.3 bug? I dont want to reset the phone. Im assuming there is minor bugs with the phone and jellybean that will be fixed in an update? Im not sure if its tied in but seems to be draining battery life.
Phone is 100% stock? You have to "reset it" use Odin to flash the stock rom or to install recovery and flash freeza's rom

Yes phone is stock minus running a different launcher. Im not tech savy by any means. I went to app manager in settings and it gives you the option to reset all applications. I have found in other forums about jellybean 4.3 with the same bug in the htc one threads. Resetting the phone is such a pain in the ass. But I did see in other threads factory resets came with no help.

Try using ODIN to flash this TAR:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469902
Downloand Odin
Install Odin
Open Odin
DE-select "Auto-Reboot"
Select PDA button: Browse for the TAR file you downloaded
Hit OK
Hit Start
When all done unplug your phone, pull the battery, put the battery back in and restart.
I am not having your issue, this should solve it.
