I was wondering if anyone would be willing to take on a concepts for folder/general icons. I find myself still going fairly minimalistic & usually don't run more then 3 screens since I use folders more then anything. unfortunately its pretty hard to find good icons for folders.
Concept: glass style or a raised transparent .png. usually you see this image layered on top of icons. I was hoping there was a way just to get something to the effect of having the appearance of a "on screen button". Since I am the only one that actually uses my phone I would already know what folder is what without the labels or a dedicated "icon".
The icons can be rounded, boxed, glassy, transparent, semi-transparent, doesn't matter. If anyone would like to take on such a task I'd be very appreciative.
TIA.

Im looking for good images, icons, colors anything yall think represents steampunk well. Im looking for this stuff to help me speed along a SteamPunk theme i am imagining.
Ideas/suggestions for it are also welcome.
Let me be clear im not requesting a SteamPunk theme i am merely requesting community input to help give me ideas for the theme.
Not very many icons here, but I had to hunt them down when I saw your topic because they look very cool, and are very detailed.
http://dlanham.com/ui/steampunk/
Should give you some inspiration.
Here is an icon set i found
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...um=1&hl=en&tbm=isch&ei=BjyfTZiYBom60QGbzLydBQ
Along with a couple images
Hope that helps......
Thanks to the both of you for those icons, im going to try my hand at creating everything from scratch but these will definitely help to point me in the right direction.
Any suggestions for the way i should make notification bar look? oxidized bronze type look?
concepts and ideas are all im looking for really, tho icons and pictures help
thank you to everyone in advance.

you read my mind, i was initially thinking of how a wifi antenna would looked in the 1800s but then i realized i dont have that imagination so i'm mocking up some concepts of the notification icons textured and bronze/copper riveted together, with bioshock style lights underneath
this is really gonna test my ability to use photoshop.
If this gets made and will work on Bi-Winning, you can count on donation from me. Oxidised bronze sure sure. Maybe a pressure gauge battery. Analog looking clock, etc. Depending on skill in photoshop.

i dont have infinite time on my hands so it will take a bit of time on my end, im realistically aiming for a release date some time in late april if not mid may
i do have a mockup of my pulldown bar icons done i want to get them on photoshop before i start showing yall my work. im not great at drawing with out grid paper.
Understood. This is a hobby for devs and themers alike. I'm just saying this is such a great idea that I look forward to the progress, no matter how long it takes.
How about with the bronze notification bar being bronze/copper, having the Notification pull down menu be like a steel colored wired mesh with a bronze frame and rivets. Rustier and dirtier the better lol. But really whatever will play nice with text on top. Great idea by the way.
I dont know how extensive iPhone themes are, but heres a pretty impressive looking one, you could crack it open and take a look at the images for some ideas. (EDIT: Ok so theres no link to download the actual theme, either way there are a few design elements you can glean from the screenshot.)

..and heres a set of widgets I found that would go GREAT with this theme, they come in different styles but the stock theme is very steampunk/bioshock-ish, check out the screenshots. Heres the market link:

Something along these lines would look pretty B.A.
I am coming from my old touch pro 2 from verizon to the rezound now. I have never messed with an android phone till now. I have much much to learn. So far I am loving this phone bigtime! One of the things I loved was having a transparent flip clock on my TP2. Is there a way to do this on the Rezound? What I want is for it to look like this.
View attachment 788126
And also have the little window behind the clock that shows the weather ,date.temperature transparent as well. Also is there a way to change all the little symbols at the top of the home screen like the 3g or 4g, the signal, the time, battery icon etc etc... I guess thats called the notification bar maybe? Can anyone help me out here or point me in the right diffection on doing this? Or is there even a way to do it? I have no idea? Thanks in advance for any replies.
once s-off is achieved it all can be done
I never had to root my old tp2 to make those changes? So in order for me to make these changes I will have to root my rezound?
well maybe not but you would have to edit the .apk files, and use adb to pull them from your device

That's probably because there's no such thing as "rooting" a windows mobile device
You best option is grabbing a different clock Like beautiful Widgets LINK
Best $3 I ever spent on an app.
If your hoping to get the stock clock transparent. It cant be done. Heres why:
1. Right now themers cant even modify sense 3.5 images.
2. Even if we could mess with them, you cant make the flip part transparent. Htc draws that clock really weird. All the numbers are actually right there on the screen, you dont see them because the flip part is hiding them. So eliminating it makes all the numbers visible at one. Quite annoying.
I know, over kill explanation but, thats how it is.
Hi guys, Im not entirely sure this belongs in this thread but it seemed more appropriate here than in a specific phone thread.
I am in need of an app with some basic functionality, but very specific.
I need an app that specifically is for rough mapping of buildings and structures, preferably with a re-sizable grid overlay that can be added and removed from the picture.
I need the ability to draw rectangles/squares to represent a building and a 'snap to grid' option so that when I am drawing four rectangular buildings that are roughly the same size and shape, they will appear to be the same size in the picture.
The ability to draw predefined small circles (intended to represent interior and/or exterior lights). Predefined size is important because I dont want a bunch of randomly sized circles and having to size each circle so it 'looks' to be the same size is terribly time consuming.
The ability to 'fill' the above mentioned circles in black or yellow to show whether they are working or out and in need of replacement.
The ability to write text using the keyboard so that I can label each object. Specifically, I DONT want handwriting, I want to use the keyboard and type what I need and have the text appear in the picture where I can size it and move it around.
Drawing straight lines, again with a snap to grid option so that my straight line isnt a diagonal straight line.
I looked at a few apps, the closest I came across is SBM but the UI makes it a pain to use, has no snap to grid, and lacks the ability to place predefined shapes (even if I could make a single circle and copy and paste the circle as often as I need, I would be happy). And since everything in the UI is icon driven, its an utter pain in the ass to figure out what each option does. To give you an idea, I used SBM to make 4 buildings, label them and place circles for all the lights on the property and this took nearly 30 minutes to get it to look half way decent. I could have used a pen and a ruler and done a better job and in one quarter the time.
This doesnt seem difficult but I cant seem to find anything that does this sort of thing. Even MS Paint on Android would be fine.
Anyway, anyone have any suggestions?
I got Themer today, and I really love how a lot of them look, but I ended up sticking with my plain stock because I like to have most things on the home screen in folders. I tried making a folder, but it didn't work.
Are there any themes that incorporate folders? Did I just do it incorrectly or are they not an option? I realize you can go into apps, and then use the categories, but I'd much rather have them on my home screen.
Plus, if I have an app, like my flashlight, that I really need on my home screen for accessibility, it's kind of obnoxious against the pretty, cohesive theme, and sticks out. If there was a folder I could stick it in on the home screen that matched the rest of the theme, it would look better. Does that make sense? I might just be rambling now.
It's a really cool app though, I like that you can do these things without rooting, I didn't realize that was possible. (My noob is showing... )

Hi Lumosx,
With Themer, there are multiple ways of adding folders.
First, you can drag and drop apps from the app drawer onto one you've already added. To do this:
1. Drag an app onto the app drawer that you'd like in your folder.
2. Then drag another app next to it; a popup may appear asking you to unlock widgets.
3. Select Yes and open the Desktop menu and deselect Lock homescreeen Icons.
You're now able to drag icons into one another, creating folders accordingly.
Alternatively, you can use Smart Category folders. These are the categories you see in the app drawer, and adding one of these does come with some advantages. To add one:
1. Long press on the homescreen > Advanced > Desktop > Unlock homescreen Icons.
2. Long press on the homescreen > Smart Categories > choose your preferred category.
3. Tap the icon > Select the overflow icon (3-dot icon) > Manage, in order to manually add/remove apps.
Now this category will be saved for every theme that you use.
To change the look of a folder (with both methods), long press on the icon > Edit > then select an icon either from selected packs or a simple image. Let us know if you need to find an image/icon to match your theme.
Hope this helps!

I got it to work, thank you very much! I'm very happy with it now.
One more question: The only issue I have now is that there's one particular widget that tells me it's already added when I try to put it on the screen, but it's not actually there. Do you know what the problem could be? It came with the phone (Walkmate) if that matters.

What's your device and the widget called? We want to see if we can replicate this issue.
Also does it happen with all themes or one specific theme?
Lastly, is there room for the widget? What may happen is that a widget might take up the whole screen, not allowing for any widgets to be added. Deleting all the widgets on the page and try to add this widget will help us figure out what's causing the problem.
I have a Galaxy S3, the widget is Walkmate. It should fit, it's small and I have at least half the screen free. I tried when the screen was blank as well. The theme is Frosted Glass. I tried using a random theme as well and it still didn't work (it was Hi-Tech).
It's not a huge issue or anything.
Hi,
I have played with Themer and widgets last few hours, and it looks very nice. I have looked through the introduction videos, and they were informative, but there is always some information missing, and here is what I could not find:
How to lock widgets without right click?
When we unlock the widgets for editing, we need to lock them back. Every tutorial that I looked does this using right click on screen, but what if there is no place on screen available to right click (widget occupies to whole screen)?. I guess we could add one screen temporarily, lock the widgets, and remove the "dummy" screen, but I guess there should be some quicker method?
How to dock particular widget to appear on all screens?
I would like one widget to appear on all screens, something like a Dock on the stock Android. How to mark widget as docked (locked) on all screens?
How to preview a custom (exported) theme?
In the video tutorials it is said to put an image with the same name to thumbs folder (I noticed that it must be png also, not jpeg). However, this only shows the screenshot in the thumbnail preview of exported themes. What about when we select a particular theme, which opens a screen with Delete Apply choices? This preview is still blank screen, which means that it does not use the image from the thumbs. The same behavior is seen in the video tutorials.
How to know if there is an empty widget on screen?
For example, lets say that I have dropped a widget on the screen accidentally, and I did not place any element in it. This widget would be transparent by default. How can I see those widgets, so I can remove them?
Thanks.

Hi Goran,
So sorry for taking an incredibly long time to reply, I'm on a semi-vacation in Thailand at the moment and getting access to internet isn't easy. I'll try help as best I can.
1. Thanks for pointing this one out! The option to do this via the app drawer was removed in the last update, so I'll speak to the team about adding it in again. The only other way would be to enable the Themer notification bar, which has a Themer icon that brings up new themes. From here you can tap the back button to go into the Advanced Settings and then into Desktop.
2. This feature has been requested before, however it will take us a while to add it into Themer, as the resources required are quite vast to say the least. Hopefully in the new year we will have more time to focus on features like this. Right now the team is more focused on fixing bugs and improving the performance.
3. Another requested feature. We still want to improve the front end as much as possible before moving onto the back end. Trust me though we haven't forgotten about the designer side of Themer.
4. I've never heard of this feature before, but it sounds like a good one to have. I think because many users focus on adding widgets that instantly show information, it hasn't been as a priority. I'll speak to the team and see what they think.
I hope this has answered your questions. If you have any more just ask, I have a stable connection now and will be able to reply within the day.
