Hi All,
What exactly is sense ui. I liked the widgets that I had on my hero when it ran android 1.5. Applications like the dialer, the weather and the clocks. Is that part of Sense UI?
If that is part of sense ui, what would you say is the best rom to run if I want it back
Sorry if this is a stupid question.
Yep yep, SenseUI is HTC's own skin on top of Android,...
If it looks like this....

... with the curved dock at the bottom then it is a Sense ROM.
IMO the best Sense ROM by far is "Villain 12".
Thanks a lot for the reply, I will try Villain 12 right away
Thanks a million, I installed Villain 12 and its working exactly as I expected
I do however see that it does not report to be android 2.2, meaning I cannot get the latest gmail app for the market.
Any suggestions?

At moment there's no Sense 2.2 Rom for Hero.
I think we have to wait for the official 2.2 release for the HTC Legend, and then wait for a Hero cooked rom based on this.
Another interesting way to get Sense 2.2 Rom for hero is a cooked Rom based on the official ROM of this upcoming terminal:

In every way we have to wait...

I'm not sure, since the layout is completely different. Android has change a lot since Donut.
ok thanks anyway
I was about to start doing this! Can I use this one in 0.2, please?
Could you re-upload the image?

Just do a NandBackup then try if it bootLoops then restore
Thanks Arturo,
now the status bar is much better looking.
Really great, maybe this could be incorporated in next version of cyanogen rom?
That would be great!
Looks great, however I've tried to apply this to my desire (can't find an equivalent for Desire) and it has blocked it to unfinite loop, lucky i backed my framework.apk.
are you able to do this for desire if I provide the framework.apk from a stock froyo?
Cheers
very nice work
Hello,
I already heard so many time that the sense of HTC is the best Android interface, and it really does.
so... while Samsung released the source code of SGS2, please developers, can you bring the sense interface to SGS2 ? is it possible ?
not just the launcher, but whole the interface (with dialer, sms, e-mails, and etc.)
examples:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Moved to Q&A as a suggestion rather than development itself.
It will be nice to have the variety of another ROM on the SGSII but i can say for 110 percent that Sense will never be ported. This will be due to the high level of complexity getting samsung hardware to work within the sense rom. Even harder as Samsung doesn't release a full source code, it holds some things back like source for proprietary drivers...
Nexus S port = yes but not functional
samsung GS1 = yes but not functional
SGSII = No and will definitely never be functional.
TW4 is fantastic, im a big sense lover but i have now learned to let go of it and embrace TW.
The only thing we will get if anything is a special version of CM
And we didnt need screenshot examples, most of us know what sense is dude
JD
I really like this idea. I know its hard but it works. If the milestone with it's locked bootloader can run sense 2.0 then SGSII definitely can. it just needs the right developers.
I like the new apps/widgets made by HTC for Sense 3.5
But at the moment I use a Sense 3.0 Rom (LeeDroid). I already found a ported facebook chat widget and installed it successfully.
Does anybody know if there exists a ported tasks widget apk for Sense 3.0.
I only found a old version of the tasks widget in this forum.
I am looking for this one:

Eh, I kinda like the old one better. It looks like a notepad..but it hasn't been made for our phones yet. The 3D really got jipped on a lot of things IMO.
it will be interesting to see if this widget becomes available to us, I'd like to see it themed!
Man, I have been dying for an actual HTC task widget, and I like that 3.5 one a lot. Way better that the O4g one that looked like a sticky pad, and yet MIA from our 3D!
I too am wondering if someone can port it to sense 3.0

+1 for task widget! looks awsome on the new 3.5
Why not get WTSB 3.5 ROM.It's running great flash and 3d is working.

I'm trying to build one right now that uses the go launcher. However I'm new to doing anything on Android Roms so we will see how it turns out. Right now its rather buggy.

I'll post it though if I get it working and packaged. Hopefully I can learn more cause the development here is rather slow... No offence to to the great developers that are here. I'm just coming from the HD2 where there were about 5 updates every day. lol

Yeah pretty cool man, u think you can do something in uot?

Well... I tried uot and it works well for some things. But others such as the notification menu didn't turn out very well. We'll see though what I end up with. I have found the go launcher to work rather well and its not to hard to theme.
Seems like we won't be getting the full Sense 4.0 Experience. Which is to be dissapointed to those who run stock, however i see the community fixing this issue. Sucks how HTC decided not to introduce 4.0 Sense to the XE, LE, & the Rezound.

If the One S/V can run it, our Rezounds can run it easy... Stupid HTC..
Who cares? We have awesome devs working on getting sense 4 and they'll probably have it done months before we get official 3.6

Source article I think.
The beginning pretty much confirms we're not getting official Sense 4.
Go community go.
That is such bull**** about the ImageSense being the main reason they don't give us Sense 4.0.

They either got lazy to put 5% more work into incorporating Sense 4.0 without Imagesense or they need to make their newer phones look appealing. The community will work its magic as where HTC skipped on.
Well I for one love HTC devices, but really am about sick of Sense all together. To each his own I guess but just give me finalized ICS and I will be happy.
