why is it that the specs of the vibrant says that it has a 512 ram, but in the task manager that comes with the JI6 it's saying that the phone only have a 326 ram.

I think one of the reasons is because 2.1 kernel doesn't support 512mb ram.

I've not found this mentioned on the forum, but jist noticed something odd.
On quadrant, under system info memory shows:
Total:287000kB
Free: 5740kB
But also:
Inactive: 132184kB
Is this a huge chunk of ram turned off?

No. Rest of this is used by Linux basic services (Wi-Fi, BT, Camera etc.) and videoRAM.
Mines shows 830mb......

Hey I havent seen this discussed thoroughly hwre yet and if it has my apologies in advance but I was wondering how you guys are minimizing RAM usage. I downloaded ROM Toolbox but cant find how to set a RAM usage limit or whatever. Any tips or ideas would be great. Thanks

i just noticed that streak and micromax canvas have same on board ram
but for canvas available ram is 486 mb and same on our streak total available ram is 380 mb
where is this ram lost in in our streak
