[q] lcd screen - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i replaced the lcd screen and digitiser on sony ericsson x10i because i broke them. but i can't enter to bootloader to calibrate the lcd screen.if there is anyone who can help me to fix this problem. that would be great helpful.

Until the devs hack the boot loader your stuck unless you can get to a sony repair / service center.

is it the only way?

No one can do anything with the boot loaded until it has been cracked so you yourself will not be able to do it, you need to take it to a sony repair center if it needs calibrating.
Unless you try going to a regular phone repair shop and it doesn't need calibrating.
Good luck with that one eh!

what do you mean by 'fixed by sony'? you void your warranty after unlocking bootloader.
They will fix it, but you will have to pay if you void your warranty.
Tip: those guys in the repair center aren't too smart, you could probably say that the phone broke by itself(you haven't done any rooting, flashing...) they will probably believe you
I took my mini to the service center for calibration, with test point unlocked boot loader, and no one noticed! They did the calibration and my phone is fixed and unlocked:-D

Touchscreen dead?

So a few days back, my mini pro started to act weird; when the keyboard was out the touchscreen wouldn't work. By the evening the whole screen stopped working. Warranty is out, so I tore down the whole phone, checked all the connections but in vain. I flashed the phone back to stock firmware, but still stuck with no touchscreen. I think this is a pure hardware problem. And I'm kinda scared to give my phone to these private dealers, they might swap out the original parts for fake ones, learned the hard way when I gave in my old Nokia for repair.
So I thought I'd share my problem with you guys, any help would be appreciated.

Bro, its an hardware issue.. The flex that connects from motherboard to the display is damanged.. Give it to the nearest Sony ericsson service center n get it replaced.. Do not give it to private vendors.they tend to spoil your phone.. Dont worry even if ur not on stock ROM or kernel.. Just tel them not to upgrade your software during the process..else it'l be fixed. Cheers..

Thanks for the real quick reply man, I thought so. With that in mind I took the phone apart and check the connections. Finding them intact I came to quite the same conclusion.
Any idea how much this would cost?

Here it cost me about 1.5k.. Not much tho. ;-)

[Q] Phone not booting or charging and continuously vibrating

Hi there!
After trying to flash SGS2 i9100 to ICS with KIES phone got bricked... It doesn't charge and boot. When I try to power on, it begins to vibrate until I pull out the battery. Download mode not working, the screen stays black.
Can I somehow fix it or the only way is to bring it to the service center?
Send it to the service centre anyway they do a great job so you may aswel. And you know it will be fine once you get it back

It won't be covered by warranty, so before paying I'd like to know if I could fix it by myself
I set mine to the service centre when it wasnt under warranty and they did it for free...

It will. Tell the that Kies update broke it and play dumb.
I don't understand why first you try the hard way and not even considering the option to get it repaired effortlessly and free.

Soft Bricked

Hello Xda I've soft bricked my S3 I can access download mode.
I got into this problem cause I flashed Supernexus it worked fine for a few days. Until I went into bootloop and couldn't do anything I couldn't access recovery so I just flashed the stock rom and now the phone only boots into download mode and can be viewed by odin also it says on the phone please connect to kies in recovery. I done this put the phone doesn't get recognised any ideas and help will be appreciated

if you can't access recovery after reflashing a stock ROM, send it to service
and ask for help in the help section, not here
They won't help because its rooted and stuff also i have a slight crack so sending it into service will cost me like 200$ to repair
What build are you using? Looks like I'm moving away from that ROM 0.o

yeah, the other option is to throw the phone away. your call.
or you can also be doing something wrong.
or you can hope for me to be wrong.
i've been searching around an they calling this the ''sudden death syndrome'' and can happen at any time to a select few all you have to do is send it into service and get it repaired for free but i can't because i've got a slight hairline crack so my warranty is void and they are asking for around £150 for repairing this phone
You have a software problem not hardware. The crack has nothing to do with that. I had a crack on my S1 but sent it to service for new USB port - no problems.

I've rang them again after you said this and said sorry we can't do anything until u repair the screen by us or yourself. Also they said we can't guarantee that the problem I got was not from my crack so they said no to repairing for free they asking for 135£ to repair the crack
Then they'll replace the motherboard for free

You need to use your warranty and take it back to your service centre or repair shop.
Where are you located? If your not under warranty, I do dead boot repair, among other things. For much cheaper than a repair shop, online JTAG service, or filling an insurance claim, I might add.
